Yeah, i have to agree that the Leafs' season has been a major disappointment over the past month or so. However, the SCABS' season has been even worse, so that's the consolation for Leafs Nation. :D

LOL!:lol::lol: Au Contraire M. Holliday...the season is not over yet...the Laffs are a mere 3 points better than the Habs on this date...and with their current trajectory into the bowels of the bowels of the NHL they still have plenty of time to have a worse season......

BRAVO Burkie, BRAVO!!! :yield::cheer2:

At least the Habs have had their glory though, they're just suffering through one horrid season whereas the Leafs have been horrid for many years a row!

Actually, the Leafs had a very good season other than the past month or so, where they were either awful or snake-bitten.

However, the SCABS have struggled for the most part of the season. But i do wish them well....i'd like them to finish 9th or 10th, just out of a lottery pick for the upcoming amateur entry draft. Yakupov or Gigorenko will be very good NHL hockey players for years to come.

The teams are within 3 points of each other, but the team that badly choked gets a more positive spin than the team which was consistently mediocre. Only the total number of points counts at the end for teams which have any realistic aspirations to appear in the playoffs.

With this display of objectivity, I can only wonder if you are a traffic court judge.

Oh do you mean sorta like being the best team in baseball for 4 months in the middle of the season but then missing the playoffs by 1 game...that kinda "very good season"?
The kinda season that has posters on sports threads relentlessly spouting off about fried chicken and beer for months:rolleyes:? That kinda season...?!?!

Give me an f'n break...they are in 23rd place, they have been LOSERS since 1967...Brian Burke is like a blind man in a dark room trying to find his way out with his thumb stuck up his a$$...they SUCK!
Someone throw Burke and all of the Laffs fans a bucket of chicken...:lol::lol:...and a Molson...:help:.

Will the Leafs win one more game this year? They finally scored tonight after a 196 minute scoring drought, more than 3 full games.

Not to worry Leaf Nation, Burkie, like the genius that he is will turn things around in the off season.

I loved the post Iggy made in the Habs suck thread with the ship sinking. I found one of the Leafs ship with Doc and Iggy standing on the bow...looks like it's been under water for a while. :D

You may want to delete this post before someone quotes it? Oops.:D The Leafs give sucking a whole new meaning. In fact, they might just be the worst franchise in all of professional sports over the last half century.

MIGHT be? Rumples, you are being far too kind to that sad sack organization.

They are not only laughable and inept, but also completely lacking in guts and direction.

Burkie is so pathetic he makes the departed John Ferguson Jr. look like an absolute genius in comparison.

Any team that goes 45 years without making it to the big dance, that can't even make it to the freakin' playoffs since the lockout, and then completely collapses at the tail end of the first year in a dog's age where they had a chance of qualifying is not only skill-less but also ball-less. A bunch of overpaid undertalented whiners with no heart, under the direction of the biggest whiner of them all: an overrated overpaid blowhard who goes behind the scenes like a little coward trying to get Cherry fired and who runs like a schoolgirl when a Toronto radio host dares to ask a question he doesn't like.

Burkie also tried to play the hero when he fired Wilson, saying " After that last game in Toronto (where the fans were very intelligently screaming "Fire Wilson") I knew I didn't want Ron to have to suffer through that any more." BS!!! Burkie was just trying to save his own butt by FINALLY listening to the fans (who obviously know more than he does) and getting rid of a lame duck pain in the ass coach who should have been canned long ago. And what's this hogwash about poor Ron suffering? If Wilson WANTED to leave his coaching position he could easily have said so. Obviously he DIDN'T want to leave.

The Leafs have been the epitome of crap for close to half a century now and as long as the organization continues hiring inept GMs it will continue.

While their antics are occasionally amusing (it IS fun to have one laughingstock in the NHL), there comes a time when enough is enough. Oh well, at least these bozos will be the first ones on the golf course this year - as usual!

Boston obviously held back a little or they would have beaten the hopeless Leafs by more than 8-0.

8-0 was the score of tonight's game. 6 - 0 is the season tally.

And, as expected Lucic again demolished Komisarek, even though Lucic fought an honorable fight using only his fists while the cowardly Komi (who outweighs Milan by over 20 pounds) used his stick and his knee. Poor Komi could have used a machine gun and Lucic still would have destroyed him - Komi is not only a useless hockey player but every time he tangles with Lucic he proves he's a VERY slow learner. The look on Komi's face at the end of his latest humiliation was priceless.

Hey BOYZ,

Well, I hate these Death Watch threads, but...

Signs of the Seasons:

Tis the season. Yup, twice a year it happens...the WILTING and the FALLING. First from the trees, then from Toronto. The sun is warming fast... the birds are nesting ...the Maple Leafs are dead for the year...AGAIN...uhhhhh, well...it been a while now.

Bruins Knock Leafs Down to 25th place.

This year it was all too easy for the Stanley Cup Champion Boston Bruins...in a clean sweep of the season series blowing away the ever-tumbling Leafs.

Happy landings,

Merlot

Montreal & Toronto
8-0 ?
8 fuc&in 0 ?

That's whooping allright specially that this game was so important for the Leafs ?

8-0 ? I mean I had to come back to share this with my 2 favorite comedians.

Your team desperately needed to show some character ...but ended up completely "Gutless" !
I feel for ya ! I really do !

Odds are now 1% to make the playoffs.
So on April 5th we should see one of the biggest choke of NHL (regular season) history... going from no.1 spot in December to total annihilation.

This is almost as retarded then giving away Halak to the Blues.

BTW... in the light of this very bad year for the Leafs... seems that one our dear comedians is trying hard to get suspended !
To save face I suppose ?
Maybe he feels that his popularity sank like the Titanic :)
