ROFLMAO. If there were a Nobel Prize for Lame Rationalizations, iggy would win in a walk. Congratulations, Iggy, you've out done even yourself. I can't wait to see what you come up with in October. I just wish I could have heard what you came up with in October '04, after the biggest choke in the history of sports, professional or amateur.

I don't think I've ever said it before, but here it is: BWWWWAAAAAH

They aren't waiting for October, Rumple. Just go and look at the Leaf's Delusional Nation thread. They're already talking about how good the team is gonna be next year and the great young players they're going to have.

There's a light at the end of the tunnel but, sadly for the Leafs and their fans, it's a freight train!

Look again, Techie, that was what they said last year. What? You don't say. No shit. Again?

Actually, my October reference to his baseball affiliation, the most expensive failed sports franchise in history. Over $2 billion spent on one championship in the 21st century.

Awww, c'mon guys, can't you all just leave the poor delusional fella's alone? You know they'd both be so very respectful to your teams had it been your team that choked, sucked, etc over and over and over again!! Bwwwaahhh!!!!

One observation that i've made over the past two months of this disasterous conclusion to the Leafs season is that i now have newly-found respect for all those Boston Red Sox fans who suffered miserably for 86 years, and went on to suffer even more miserably last September when their team went through the great collapse in major league baseball history. What happened to the Leafs this season is nothing compared to how their beloved Red Sox choked during the final month of last season. That was a team that many predicted was the BEST TEAM EVAH! who would eventually win the 2012 World Series. Yet, they choked throughout the month of September and didn't even make the playoffs. What a terrible disappointment it was!!

I feel for Red Sox Nation. I really do. The next time i see a Red Sox fan, i will give him a hug. Long-suffering sports fans shouldn't have to go through personal turmoil alone.

Nah. Not really. First of all, we still hope and believe that the Sox have a great chance to win the 2012 World Serious. Second, unlike the privileged spoiled entitled brats who root for a certain bunch on $2,000,000,000 failures, we don't expect the Sox to win every year. Remember, the Sox are one of only two teams in MLB to win 2 World Championships in the 21st Century. And, en route to the first one in 2004, they contributed mightily to the biggest choke in the history of sports, professional or amateur.

I'll admit that it's tough not cheering for the Red Sox, one of the worse jokes in professional sports throughout the 20th century. Anyone with a heart has to have a soft spot for the Red Sox. You simply cannot hate a team that hadn't won a championship in 86 years!! Yes, 86 years!!! Unbelievable, but true!!!

You would have thought that their losing ways were a thing of the past after they finally turned the tide & won a couple of championships (okay, with a little bit of help, i'll admit it) over the past 10 years. However, the historical collapse of SEPTEMBER 2011 made you realize that these Red Sox were possibly doomed to lose forever. Love 'em or hate 'em, these are the Boston Red Sox.....the team that traded away Babe Ruth! I wish them all the best.....i really do. Not every team gets to trade away Babe Ruth & then goes on losing for the next 86 years!

Hello Boyz,

One observation that i've made over the past two months of this disasterous conclusion to the Leafs season is that i now have newly-found respect for all those Boston Red Sox fans who suffered miserably for 86 years...

Yet, consistent with the habit of failing in Toronto is the failure to understand three basic differences:

1. Sox fans have forgotten everything before the two World Series Championships in the last 7 1/2 years. Boston has 7 championships in 10 years, Doc's 4 teams have 135 years of continuous LOSING!!

2. The Bruins have the Stanley Cup in hand. The Leafs have clubs and balls in hand for their annual early golf dates...45 years running.

3. Boston Bruins fans can talk about their current Stanley Cup Champions proudly. Maple Leafs fans are so ashamed of their team they have to dodge the subject with baseball in a hockey thread ...L-O-S-E-R!

Oh God help me...I'm a LOSER Maple Leaf.

Cheers,

Merlot

86 years..........EMBARRASSING!!!!!!!!!!
And to think...the Leafs are only half way home. Fortunately, the prognosis is another 40 years of losing so they're bound to catch that which is now ancient history to all except a handful of straw graspers. Too bad that's all you got, Doc. Things are just fine in Titletown.

Yeah, the Leafs haven't made the playoffs in a long time & haven't won the Cup since 1967. However..........

THE LEAFS STILL DON'T SUCK AS MUCH AS THE BOSTON RED SOX, WHO HADN'T WON A CHAMPIONSHIP IN 86 YEARS!!!!!!!!!!!! 86 YEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! EMBARRASSING!!!!

The Red Sox don't suck. In fact, they've won two championships in the last seven years. Yes, they did suck, but that's ancient history. It's really sad that you have nothing else to hang your hat on. The Leafs, on the other hand, SUCK big time, have for a long time and will for a long time. I feel sorry for the long years of suffering ahead for you, your children, and your grandchildren, and your grandchildren's children and grandchildren.

Hey, I can use caps and boldface too. HEY, IS THAT REALLY ALL YOU GOT, DOC? PITY

Back to hockey,

Too bad that's all you got, Doc. Things are just fine in Titletown.

How do you know when you've hit the bulls-eye on a desperate Leafs fans...see next quote:

86 years..........

So how do the Leafs compare to the Bruins?

Yeah, the Leafs haven't made the playoffs in a long time & haven't won the Cup since 1967. However..........

THE LEAFS STILL DON'T SUCK AS MUCH AS THE BOSTON...

...ACTUALLY THE LEAFS SUCK BEYOND BELIEF COMPARED TO THE BRUINS. 45 YEARS OF EL STINKO VERSUS THE STANLEY CUP CHAMPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Doc...I don't think you were even born the last time the Leafs won the cup and you'll be long dead and turned to dust before they ever win another one. Damn, they may not even make the playoffs again in your lifetime the way they're going! I've already seen my share of Stanley Cup parades in my life, it's a shame you'll never know what it's like.

Ouch T-man, you're too truthful.

Saw my parade last year in HD. Too bad the Leafs last one is in grainy black and white.

It's enough. :amen:

(How come you're back posting here? Didn't you tell me a couple of weeks ago that the 'other' board was miles ahead of this one, better moderated & you wouldn't be posting here anymore? Did they drop you a rank or give you a dishonorable discharge? lol)

Montreal's definition of learning : Getting rid of Gauthier and Gainey !

Toronto's definition of learning : Renaming their team the 'Pussy willows' !
"....Pussy willows's catkins appear long before the leaves, and are one of the earliest signs of spring..."

Hey Leaf's fan... here is a definition for ya !
"The definition of stupidity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results."

And it comes from a real genius (see if you can identify who's that genius - pi j'va t'donner un morceau d'robot !)...

Mod 8, you have to forgive the NON Hockey fans whom only come into HOCKEY threads at the end of the season (cough cough, bandwagon, cough cough) many of whom are never seen nor heard from during the season or the ones who only come to hate on a team from a sport they no or care nothing about (as admitted) over spite from what happened to their team from another sport. I made a simple comment to special k because of his hypocritical post and that was that, it was done, but rumpie poo wanted to roll with it, so it escalated, no big surprise there coming from edgy red sox fans after last seasons debacle. Now, back to Hockey, lets hope  but dont hold your breath.

Here, I will start, Leafs are down to the Flyers 2-1, and to get that #2 overall pick this June, there doing the right thing! C'mon habs, win out your remaining games, Puh-lease! :thumb:
