I am not really sure why the subject of decriminalization bothers some people here so much. It is relevant to this topic, because it's been shown through multiple studies that violence against sex workers diminished when prostitution became decriminalized. It's also advantageous to clients in many ways..
I don't think I am closed to other people's opinions to the extent that I'm being accused of, but I'm a sex worker while others who are commenting here are not. I am certainly not speaking on the behalf of all sex workers, and not everyone agrees with me. But it feels like in this conversation, a lot of people have tried to regain control because we were given space to express ourselves, and we were belittled and ''put in our place'' with typical language like ''girls'' ''my dear'' etc.
This conversation is exhausting, and it does feel like we are treated as if we were more stupid than we actually are. I just know that there are people who are reading this, who might not be participating in the discussion, who are thinking right now.. That's good enough for me.
This is not a ''client versus provider'' argument. We're on the same team.
