something like that yes, considering most of you have an online presence on several plateforms (here, X, Bluesky, Tryst etc.) I was wondering if LL was a big part of it or not.
I don't use LL so I'll let others answer. I wanted to help with your question, it's intriguing. I presume those who use MERB and can answer your question might not have the same experience as the provider you saw.

Exactly that's why i'm specifically ask providers, clients tend to think their own way to do things are a general rule. It's been discussed here several times, so we know a majority of the clients don't go or use MERB or, at least don't say they do. I have a very stereotyped conception of what LL is hence the question. Thanks for answering.

I use LL when things are slow for me. I'm not embarrassed by it and it annoys me that some clients and SP snob others who use certain platforms, including Merb..

What I've come to realize lately is that different platforms bring a different client base. I am not saying no to advertising on LL again and have considered it, precisely because I am tired of Merb and Tryst just isn't working out for me at the moment.

Advertising on LL can be a double edged sword.. you'll get a lot of inquiries including people insulting you and refusing bare minimum screening. But a lot of people don't know that other websites exist and don't want to bother looking. A lot of inquiries are for last minute but surprisingly I've actually had clients I really appreciated on LL.. regular clients too.

Same thing with Tryst and Twitter before my account was banned. A lot here a negative stereotype about LL yet they also refuse to look on Tryst.

Going back to working at a MP I'm realizing there's a whole world outside of Merb and all the acronyms and reviews... A lot of clients just don't see this as a hobby, they are just looking for a nice soothing moment without complications. They're not trying to seek variety and find new places and new providers all the time. It's kinda like this with certain guys who only use LL.

Met an Indy who told me most of her clientele was coming from LL, i've never really used the website TBH but i was surprised to hear considering the number of horror stories we can read here. So my question would be, is it also true for other providers?
I barely use LL because you need to pay all the time if you want your ad to stay in the first pages and I need to put aside most of my earnings for school and just living. From the perspective of a SP, I can also affirm that there is a lot of bad clientele on LL too.

Yes that's another point. It's very expensive to advertise on LL so I do it very sparingly. I think everyone just does what works for them. LL was the first platform I used for an entire year.. I definitely wish Tryst worked for me and I've tried many different things. It works when I'm in other cities. LL has advantages because a lot of clients who aren't constantly on Merb or other platforms remember me when I use it.

It's interesting to me that having use of the internet was supposed to simplify both the search and the communications process as opposed to using print ads like they did old school, but at the same time it has introduced levels of risk and complexity that didn't exist before. To clarify, I'm not saying it wasn't risky before, because it absolutely was, I'm just saying the the old risks that tech was supposed to supplant instead were replaced by new ones.

I absolutely hate LL. Nothing good ever came out of it for me, I haven’t used it in years. Last time was in 2019 probably.

Expensive, filled with fake ads, clients were horrible, lots of time wasters. I’d rather pull my own from teeth than using that.

I’ve closed my tryst account for various reasons, I don’t miss it. Clientele is good, I’ve never paid for it but in the end there was a lot of fake ish ads.

Merb can have both very shitty clients that are here only to “chain fuck” women, if I may say. Not so interested by that clientele. Amazing men have found me here which is why I keep it, it’s also rather cheap to advertise

Twitter and Bluesky are my favourites, free, straightforward, it’s good screening for clients. They can see my personality before contacting me so no time is wasted

Love that expression, very visual :)
Thanks for the feedback, that was my perception of LL but again, i've never used it and i'm also pretty snob :)
I guess the thing to remember is that Merb also has this type of client. It's just that sometimes they belong to a different social class or they have a different attitude about this industry.

I had my Twitter suspended 3 times and I gave up, but yes social media did bring a very respectful type of clientele. The issue is that for some reason Montreal clients have not moved to bluesky.

I just came back from a 5 day trip to Halifax, fully booked, with clients who all found me on Tryst. In Ottawa, I have repeat clients and gentlemen who follow me on socials. It's a completely different vibe. Toronto is a mixed bag.. I do get guys who found me on Terb, but some have discovered me elsewhere.

Montreal is just a very tough city to work in honestly, particularly right now. I feel like it's interesting to say "I'm snob" in this context ... We do what we can. I'm counting my blessings.

Is there much difference in the number of clients when the weather is nice or even moderately cold vs in February when there is 50cm of snow on the ground?

If socials are decent, have any of you considered doing a podcast and posting on YouTube even with audio only?

I had a regular once tell me that the best days for her were when it was raining. Her schedule would fill up fast if the rain were to last all day. Spring fever was also a busy time for her. Once the tank tops and short shorts came out downtown she was in very high demand. I know personally that spring time, especially in this city makes me horny. Interesting. Anyone?

It's the same question that the other person was asking. And it all depends on the person.. Some men seek out these services more in the winter or during rainy periods because they feel more depressed and lonely. They prefer going outside when it's sunny out, particularly the spring and early summer. Some others start feeling ''alive again'' during that time of the year and they have more time to spare. When I entered the industry I assumed that the holidays and winter months would be dead, but I was surprised to find out that this isn't true. During the holidays a lot of people are lonely and isolated.. also a lot of people do not celebrate those holidays to begin with and are kinda left with a lot of time to kill. January is a particularly depressing month and I think some need a little push through it.. February is Valentine's day month, also. I find that for me, it's usually March through May that is a little bit quieter, first because people are dead from the long winter, then because nice weather is starting to come back and they want to take advantage of it instead of being locked in an incall.

---

I have seen providers do podcasts or have accounts where they discuss sex work. Personally, I have mixed feelings about it, particularly if the person is still in the business. On one hand, a person who is actively in the industry and has had several experiences can inform the public in sincere ways.. On the other, I suspect that sometimes there can be a lack of honesty or glossing over certain things, which isn't necessarily the fault of the person who has the podcast. If I started a podcast about being an escort while I am still one, I may feel like being fully honest about certain aspects of the industry may get misinterpreted, or might push away certain clients.

I'm pretty good at maintaining my social media. What I find tough is trying to sell my services in a way that feels disingenuous to me. I don't feel like fake positivity, or trying to draw attention to myself by writing about how horny I am and how much I love certain sex acts all the time. While I understand that what I'm selling involves sexual intimacy, I feel uncomfortable describing something very personal to a wide audience of people. I know not every woman in the industry feels this way, but I don't think I'm alone in this at all. I also think mystery can be attractive.

something like that yes, considering most of you have an online presence on several plateforms (here, X, Bluesky, Tryst etc.) I was wondering if LL was a big part of it or not.
I would say for some trans people LL can be a good place to find clients as many people who are interested in us in that way are more familiar with LL than they are with MERB, Tryst, Indy, etc.; not to mention there aren't really dedicated spaces here on MERB for trans SPs to advertise and even if there is a trans filter on some of these sites usually there's not many options compared to the amount of trans people you can find on LL. So it's no surprise to me that a lot of my other friends who are trans masculine tell me that they primarily use LL, and that has also been the case for some of my trans femme friends too (although it seems perhaps slightly less important as a source of clients for trans women compared to trans men).

Personally, I have found that social media, Tryst, and Indy mostly bring me straight clients who are hiring me as a woman. To be clear, this is totally fine for me because I happily work as a woman using she/her pronouns or as a man using he/him pronouns. On the other hand, when I advertise on LL those clients are typically bi, pan, or gay and they are hiring me as a trans guy (he/him pronouns).
If I had more gender dysphoria or didn't feel as comfortable with my gender identity, I probably would want to stick with advertising on places like LeoList and gay escorting sites such as RentMen and Jock2Go to avoid getting straight men who would only want to hire me as a woman because I still have a pussy. Honestly, when I first started working I only advertised on sites such as LL, RM, and J2G because they were the only places where I got clients who didn't misgender me, which was important for me at a time in my life where I felt more fragile about having my gender identity affirmed.
Thankfully, I'm at a place in my life now where I feel very solid in my gender so I am able to advertise in places typically catering to straight hetero dynamics and I just go into those dates knowing that the expectation is that I'm being hired because the client views me as a woman since I still have my vagina.

But yes... unfortunately LL is super expensive to advertise on and I hate to admit that there are indeed a lot of people who aren't real or are just trying to scam others.
It has already been mentioned by people in this thread, and in other threads, so I won't repeat too much but I will place the emphasis on looking at whether or not the person has a website linked that you can visit, if they have a social media presence, and if they are advertising anywhere else with the exact same photos and the exact same ad copy that looks suspiciously generic. On LL specifically you can look for those who have verified photos and are therefore part of the verified directory, and you can pay attention to the dates of those verified photos to see how recent the pictures are to make sure it's not someone who had their pics stolen years ago to be recycled by scammers/bots.

Thanks a lot, as a matter of fact it was a trans escort who told me that so it makes a lot of sense
