FUCK............ Another loss or the Oilers, 5 first round picks in 6 years and 5 supposed good forwards and not 1 goal............ How much time does a team need to get into a comfort zone? That's my rant for today.

They need a lot of help, that is for sure. Time to trade one or 2 of those young offensive guys to get some good defense coming back. They should of took a top D-man in the draft instead of Nail Yak. One of Nail or Dallas is on their way out of town soon if the losing continues, maybe both of them.

Good riddance to Kadri even if it's only 3 games.

We're only 20% of the way into the season and so far the leaf suspensions include Kessel 3 (unfortunately only in the pre-season for this hatchet man), Clarkson 10, Ashton 2 (boarding from behind) and now Kadri 3.

Almost makes you think of the Broad Street Bullies...except that those Flyer teams had GOOD players (Clarke, Barber, Leach, McLeish, Parent, etc.).

Howe, Messier, Clarke, Shanny, et. al were tough and mean but not in a cowardly, sneaky way like the untalented leafs. (Well, okay, Clarkie COULD be sneaky... but he could also sure as hell play.) One day some LEGITIMATELY tough guy is going to get fed up with the antics of these cowards and it'll be a treat to see them get their asses handed to them.

I do not mind if they take the #1 player who usually is an offensive player but trade him or the #1 pick for defence and/or goaltending. I would trade Hall and Yak for a goalie and a defenseman ( good ones ) Fuck, right now my daughters ringette team would give the Oilers a run for their money.

The trade that is gonna come back to haunt the bruins for YEARS to come! Nice job Peter C :thumb:

Kind of like the Leafs trading Rask for Raycroft? Bwwwwaaahhhh!!!

The Bruins turned out pretty good having cut Kessel the cancer out of their locker room, I'd expect the same from Seguin's departure.

this trade (Seguin) will be worse than the bruins trading Jumbo Joe Thornton, bank on it :thumb:

What are you so happy about? The leafs might have had Seguin if they hadn't mortgaged their future for a one-dimensional floater who's invisible half the time. As usual, recent Cup winners(1) and Cup finalists (1 more) Boston are laughing at the leafs - mind you, so is everyone else in the hockey world.

You're making fun of a team, the Bs, who have had and will continue to have far more success than the stinkin' leafs...at least for the last 46 YEARS.

Once again, it seems that carrying the team was left to just a few players. With close to a quarter of the season played, not too impressive from a team who supposedly aspires every year to be a contender for the Cup. When are they supposed to get into high gear?

Yes, it's a shame about another shootout loss, but the encouraging news is that some other players (e.g. The Mule and Helm) are rounding into form after returning from injuries. Even though Datsyuk and Zetterberg are superhuman, they can't do it all by themselves, and of course Alfie had the night off due to a groin problem.

The REALLY good news is that even though the Wings have been skidding lately, they have actually been GAINING ground on the leafs. By losing (again, sigh) in a shootout, the Wings GAINED a point on the hopeless, increasingly wretched leafs, who actually managed to lose to Buffalo of all teams! That's right: the same Buffalo that was 30th out of 30 teams going into the game, the same Buffalo that was the WORST team in the NHL (at least by points) this year, the same Buffalo that just fired both its coach and its GM...but was STILL "good" enough to conquer the hopeless leafs.

Great, great, HILARIOUS stuff coming from TO - between Ford and the long-running comedy show called the leafs, Hogtown is providing great and classic entertainment.

PS: Not exactly the greatest game of Kessel's career...but then again the poor guy was probably quaking in fear all night long after what happened in his preseason game against the Sabres.

Bravo Teddy Nolan! Bravo Pat Lafontaine! Bravo Buffalo Sabres!

Excellent Post Mr. Reverdy! I clicked on the link and although the "music" is not my first choice, it is perfect to describe the has beens in DEADTROIT CITY! Bwahahahaahahaahaha!

The Deadtroit Dead Things have a GREAT LOSING streak going and lets hope they continue it for many many games to come :thumb:........:D

Red Wings squander lead in third period and lose to Capitals in shootout, extending home winless streak to seven

http://www.mlive.com/redwings/index.ssf/2013/11/red_wings_squander_lead_in_thi.html

and

http://www.cbc.ca/sports-content/hockey/nhl/game/1346326/boxscore/

Quote: "Johan Franzen was dominant for 40 minutes Friday, but the Detroit Red Wings were sloppy in the third period, and it cost them."

Quote: "Franzen’s line, with Tomas Tatar and Darren Helm, was the most dangerous unit on the ice. Tatar had an assist and generated some scoring chances with his speed and puck control. He was slated to be a healthy scratch Friday before the club reassigned Luke Glendening to the Grand Rapids Griffins."

Once again, it seems that carrying the team was left to just a few players. With close to a quarter of the season played, not too impressive from a team who supposedly aspires every year to be a contender for the Cup. When are they supposed to get into high gear?

I see our little friend Gentle is back ....

Ha ! nice try Holliday but I'm not a drinker nor a junkie like you !

Specially junkie for attention !

Your life must be miserable enough for you guys to spend so much time writing about hockey on an escort website !

And the funniest part is your pathology brings you to actually believe you're good at it while year after year it stinks !
So you adopt the only way to save face by constantly attacking others on the basis that they aren't real hockey fans.

Sorry but... any 'Real' hockey fan with a minimum respect for himself and the sport would have ditch the Leafs a Looooong time ago.

So just like for both your idols (Ford and Cherry) guys... it's time to quit and stop embarassing yourselves.

Yeah. It's obviously a tough time in Detroit. The PROOF is that the Wings are only one point ahead of the stinkin' leafs and if you're ONLY one point ahead of the absolute worst franchise in all of professional sports, you KNOW you are in a slump.

Excellent and very accurate observation Gentle.

To be fair though, while the leafs have badly sucked through 46 YEARS of consistently humiliating failure, they DO make very powerful Koolaid!

Condolences to Peter Holland

You have to feel sorry for the poor guy being DEMOTED from the AHL to the far inferior maple laughingstocks.

Just what the maple losers need - another talentless goon who should be in roller derby, not hockey. On the leafs he can join the likes of Orr, McLaren, Ashton, the Stick, and Elbows Kadri. The League will have to build bigger penalty boxes and provide Shanny with a few more phones, cameras and microphones to take care of this collection of goons, cheapshot artists, hackers and cowards. Or maybe John Scott can eliminate some of them tonight - let's hope so.

Hey, maybe Elbows Kadri pulled his unforgiveable attack on Backstrom purposely to get his sorry ass suspended so he wouldn't have to crap himself playing against Scott. I bet the Stick is KICKING himself for not thinking of the idea first!

BTW... congrats to the Maple Leafs for going from 1st to 14 in less than a month.

Can't wait 'de m'rouler par terre' once again by the end of this season.
I wonder what they will come up with.. this time to make us laugh.

One thing is sure, they are never short of hilarious stories in TO. :D

Wow, some people are really grasping at straws lately to make a point, which you failed to do, yet again.... please move on and stop trying to ruin the "Official" thread, again.... I made an excellent post to point out i never said Kadri did not deserve his sentence so thats that, let it go and move on, you are looking silly trying to put words in my mouth that were never there to begin with, merci beaucoup my friend.

PS i brought this to the free for all thread so you cant get what you want, which is to get the Official NHL thread closed for some reason and or so you dont get a nice vacation....see what a good friend i am :D

PSS Must be the Deadtroit Dead things are losing again.

Well, okay...since you ASKED, I'll be pleased to do as you requested: It's kind of funny that you selected these particular quotes in your "defence" but neglected to select your ORIGINAL response to my post about the vicious and illegal Kadri hit on Backstrom, because your ORIGINAL response did not state what you are implying here - in fact quite the contrary.
