Bernier/Reimer looks pretty good right about now

Well maybe not Reimer...for all the obvious reasons.

I will grant you Bernier though. I love how he sent the game into overtime. "The Stick" scored to make it 1-0 Toronto but then BERNIER was able to TIE THE GAME and send it into OT. Good work Jon-boy! (He was lucky that JVR saved his pathetic ass after that huge gaffe!)

p.s. Will the Red Wings make the playoffs???

Don't worry about the Wings. They will undoubtedly extend their amazing record to 23 consecutive years in the playoffs.

You should, however, be VERY worried about the leafs, who are exactly 1 lowly point ahead of the Wings after the first fifth of the season. The difference of course is that the leafs usually start off well and then COLLAPSE at about the 2/3 mark of every season. This year rates to be no exception, what with your fragile group: Lupul, Bozak, Bolland and others on your feeble, ladylike squad should consider BUYING their own hospital. Granted, even when Bozak plays he's useless, so HIS loss is meaningless, but Lupul's not bad on the rare occasions that he's in the lineup.

Meanwhile your erratic and inexperienced goalies (Reimer and "Tie Game" Bernier) have been playing way above their skill level and rescuing the stiffs in front of them, who have been badly outplayed in almost every game this season. Needless to say, your goaltending will crumble at some point. As for Clarkson, he's done squat since returning from his very well-deserved suspension. Phil "the Stick" Kessel has had a few decent games but as usual he's also been completely INVISIBLE for many other games. Even if this stick-swinging coward can avoid further suspensions, he sure as hell won't be Mr. Consistency. (For one thing, he always disappears against the Bruins.)

Doug is an alleged drug dealer and Rob is admitted crack head yet strangely they remain only the SECOND and THIRD biggest embarrassments to the city of Toronto.

You posted this excellent observation 4 days ago and not a single member of the 3-person Toronto fan club that posts here has tried to refute it. Can't blame them: it's hard to argue against the TRUTH.

If the powers that be pick Price as the #1 goalie for the Olympics, they will have to recognize that they're dealing with a guy who cannot handle the pressure when it matters most. In fact, he cannot handle ANY pressure, including deciding which head of lettuce to buy when/if he's going for groceries apparently.

Your post is ALMOST entirely correct. The one problem: from what I hear, Price is fine with lettuce (it's tomatoes that give him trouble).

23 consecutive years in the playoffs

That really is very impressive, no doubt

I watched the Devil game last night, as the Rangers weren't playing

It was interesting watching Kessel ..explosive speed

I remember during the HBO show when they followed the Rangers

Tortorella saying to everyone " don't shit yourself over the guy when he's coming towards you "

It made me laugh

Datsyuk- super talented..one of a kind

We'd be happy to have either at MSG

Best Regards

Smuler

Ya know, if Steve Why? picks carey pRice and not Jonathan Bernier, he deserves to lose the Gold medal and be fired from all of Hockey forever!

When you say "Steve Why" are you referring to the great Steve Yzerman? Hall of Famer Steve Yzerman? Steve Yzerman, GM of the Tampa Bay Lightning team that is doing so well this year? Because if it's THAT Steve Yzerman, I don't think he will EVER "be fired". You see, to "be fired" is something that only happens to people like Brian Burke....and even in Burke's case it took FOUR YEARS OF COMPLETE AND UTTER FAILURE before the powers that be FINALLY wised up and got rid of him.

Meanwhile, I do agree that Price should not be selected - but heaven help all of Canada if Jonathan "Tie Game" Bernier is chosen!

Quite true! We have to enjoy the great ones while they're around. Yzerman, Gretzky, Lemieux, Messier, Lidstrom, (and before them: Orr, Howe, the Rocket, Bobby Hull, Doug Harvey, Bathgate, Ullman, Delvecchio, Ratelle....) so many others...all gone. Now we have Pav, Henk, Ovie, Stammer, Crosby, a few others...but one day they'll be gone too, so let's enjoy the STARS of the GREAT GAME OF HOCKEY while they're still here.

The Rangers have had a lot of good players over the years - too bad their results have been less successful. A strong Ranger performance would be good for hockey in general, just like in 1994.

Nope, the Dead Things lose another at home in Dead-Troit City as Jimmy Howards GAA and Save % keeps getting worse. (not ur fault my friend, you dont get much support from that defense these days, chin up!)

Cmon lil C, this is where u tell us at least you got a point! LOL!

But seriously, the "dead things" were at home and rested and if they were a good team they would of got 2 points, but oh well.... hihi
But are things going to turn around against Tampa Bay?

Look behind you.
Any thoughts on the stupid trades the Oilers made on Saturday? Best defenseman traded to Calgary and a maybe goalie signed??? trading for a sack of magic beans.
I have stuck with them since they started but am about to jump ship.

That's MISTER Cairo to you, junior. (Or you can call me "Sir".)

PS: Condolences in advance: your leafs will be playing the big bad Bruins and it rates to be UGLY.

Wow, another great prediction from this very knowledgeable poster (unless you consider a regulation time loss to be pretty - ha ha).

Yeah we "only" got one point - ONLY one point MORE than the stinkin' leafs - we are now ONLY tied with the stinkin' leafs (must admit: it IS embarrassing to be tied with the crappiest franchise in the entire NHL, a pitiful squad with a history of 46 YEARS of complete and utter failure, a team so bad that it only made the playoffs a laughable ONE time in the past freakin' decade...and THAT in a joke of a shortened season).

But on the bright side, if the Wings had to lose, at least they did so to the Bolts under the management of the great Steve Yzerman. The Bolts, of course, are leading the division and the conference - no surprise, considering that they have a brilliant hockey mind as GM (unlike the stinkin' leafs, who suffered through 4 years of complete and utter failure with Brian Burke and who now have to wilt under the almost-as-bad management of Dave Know-less).

No doubt about it, it was a hard fought battle. But it's now for the Wings their 5th straight loss at home. Are we seeing a change of the guard?

Hope not...but if so, there's no team I'd rather change the guard to than the great Steve Yzerman's Lightning.

Not sure WTF Craig Mac is doing, unless he is trying to clear even more cap space for a huge trade but even then , why???? Tank and get a defensmant this time!

Salty, there is ALWAYS room here to be a Leafs Fan! :thumb:

:lol::lol::lol:

1. I am ALWAYS relevant and ALMOST always correct, which is why I point it out to lesser hockey minds such as yours.

2. I told you: When you speak to me, the correct form of address is either MISTER Cairo or Sir. As usual, you have failed to learn your lessons, junior.

3. On a positive note, congratulations to Phil "the Stick" Kessel, who - after disappearing, as usual, against the Bruins, is still a point ahead of Datsyuk and ONLY (ha ha) a point BEHIND Zetterberg in scoring. We'll forget about the fact that Pav and Henk are COMPLETE players, unlike the one-dimensional Invisible Man - even if Pav and Henk had NO points they'd still be more valuable than "the Stick" because of everything else they can do and he can't.
