I think we can all agree here that little Doc started melting down today at 5:59.

By the series of childish post in such a short period of time I'd say he's on crack and he doesn't know it.

Congratulations to the leafs!

Tonight, in their 5-2 LOSS to the Bruins, they "only" allowed 40 shots - a big improvement on the FIFTY they allowed in each of their previous 2 games.

Of course, the leafs were STILL badly outplayed and badly outshot 40-32. No surprise, given that this wretched squad has only managed to outshoot its opponents a meagre FOUR TIMES in the entire season!

Unfortunately for Koolaid Nation, their goalie "Tie Game" Bernier didn't save them this time, as he played down to his REAL ability level with an .897 save percentage.

The leafs have now LOST 6 OF THEIR LAST 8 GAMES and their two "victories" both came in overtime after they blew their leads, and in both "victories" they were horribly outplayed, allowing FIFTY SHOTS each time.

Gullible leaf fans bragged that tonight's game was perfect timing because of what happened last night and because of Boston's manpower issues due to injuries, etc. No problem: the FAR BETTER Bruins still played with the pathetic, cowardly leafs as if they were ragdolls.

By the way, it's about time that Carter Ashton gets suspended again. Oh and wasn't that a typically gutless leaf move by Gunnarson against Iginla?

As for Kessel, he played his usual game against the Bruins: totally ineffective and a minus 2 for the night.

But on a positive note: congratulations to McLaren for extending his FUTILITY STREAK, as he is still without a point the entire season -although he's TIED with Colton Orr in that department and Orr has played more games.

Bye bye leafs: one MORE in the loss column! Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch of stiffs!

You hit the nail on the head. No penalty was called. So how can it be an 'extremely cowardice' hit when the referee nearby didn't even feel it was a penalty? On top of that, the play happened on a delayed penalty to Boston. So if it was indeed a penalty, wouldn't it have been easy for the referee...any referee actually...to call a penalty?

It was a body check & players have to also be accountable for their positioning on the ice & not deliberately put their backs to the play. Next time, young Miller will think twice about doing this.

You have a good point SK and you are obviously 100% correct, but go easy on the poor guy: that Koolaid that he and iggy consume by the bucketful is very powerful stuff.

Funny, but earlier today you were posting about how the Habs always get preferential treatment from the officials. You can't have it both ways.

Dougie Hamilton has been flown back to Boston in order to be re-evaluated re: lower body injury. The team announced that he won't be rejoining the team on this road trip.

With Boychuck, Miller & now Hamilton out, will the Bruins make a trade in order to help out on the defence?

SK has a brain...and he doesn't make blind opinions just because he's angry his team lost like...hmmm...Doc who has been on a meltdown since before 6:00 today.

Enlightening how the now physically battered Bruins can still kick the Leafs asses with ease despite injuries and a suspension. But what else is new.

First Loui Eriksson, now Chris Kelly, soon Shawn Thornton: The Boston Bruins are running short of forwards fast.

Kelly went on injured reserve Sunday with a broken right ankle, according to the Boston Herald. He was injured in Saturday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins and likely will miss a month.

hornton will have an in-person hearing with NHL disciplinarians, the league announced. The meeting, at a date to be determined, portends a suspension of at least five games.

In the game's opening minute, Penguins defenseman Brooks Orpik hit Eriksson with his shoulder near Eriksson's head as Ericksson turned to move up the ice.

Eriksson was stunned and went to the bench dazed before heading to the dressing room with a trainer taking one arm to help his balance as he got up from the bench. Eriksson didn't return to the game.

Bruins coach Claude Julien said Eriksson has a concussion and would not travel to Toronto for Sunday's game.

A few seconds after Orpik's hit on Eriksson, Bruins captain Zdeno Chara charged Orpik and drew a cross-checking penalty.

Bruins forward Milan Lucic also fought the Penguins' Deryk Engelland midway into the period.

Thornton awaits NHL discipline for jumping Orpik. Orpik was concussed, taken off the ice on a stretcher and examined at a hospital. He expected to travel home with the team.

It happened in a wild sequence of events. The Bruins' Brad Marchand was injured on the other end when Thornton came skating up quickly from center ice and grabbed Orpik from behind, knocking him down backward before punching him.

Thornton, dressed in a suit and speaking very quietly in front of his locker after the game, said he was "sorry" for what happened.

"It's hard for me to talk about right now. I can't say I'm sorry enough. I'm sure I'll be criticized, but it's true," he said. "I felt awful. It wasn't my intention. I know Brooksie. I've gotten to know him the last seven years here. I skated with him during the lockout. I texted him a couple of times. It's not what I wanted to see or anyone to see."

In TV replays, it appeared that Orpik didn't move after taking the punch. He also appeared hit his head on the ice when he fell. Thornton was given a match penalty.

"I hope he's doing all right," Thornton said. "I heard he's conscious and talking and I'm happy about that."

Penguins forward James Neal was assessed a kneeing penalty for his hit on Marchand.

"I mean, what do you want me to say? That I was trying to hit him?" Neal said. "No, I'm going by him. I don't get out of the way, like I said. I need to be more careful and I guess get my knee out of the way, but I'm not trying to hit him in the head or injure him or anything like that."

Neal awaits a disciplinary call from the NHL on Monday.

Also on Sunday, the Bruins out defenseman Adam McQuaid on injured reserve with a groin injury. Defenseman Johnny Boychuck also is out with a back bad.

All those disadvantages and the Leafs are still our patsies. :lol:
