So i walked outside this morning in dtn Montreal and there was this extra smell in the air. Mind you it was a habs game day so that explained some of the stench but i could not understand what the hell that extra stink was..... looked in the paper and saw the red wings are in town tonight... made perfect sense!

Actually the smell was the foul odor that the stinkin' leafs left the last time they were in town. Leaf stench is so disgustingly putrid that it lingers for a long, LONG time - in fact, it has now been stinking up the league for 47 YEARS!

But there might actually be some good news for leaf fans: someone speculated that the home shared by Phil Kessel and his longtime roommate Tyler Bozak might smell beautiful. While Phil was pulling his disappearing act during the final two games of the Olympics (you know, the two games that ACTUALLY counted?), it would only be fair that Tyler gave their shared abode a nice cleaning so that he could comfort his close friend on his return - emptyhanded - from Sochi.

Detroit 2 Habs 1 in OT.

Great result: Detroit picks up 2 points on the road despite missing the best leader in hockey, who sadly will be out for around 8 weeks. The Wings outshoot the Habs 30-20 in the game, totally stifling Montreal in the second period. The Mule returns and Todd Bertuzzi scores. The kids - Nyquist and Tatar - play great, proving once again that they are the superstars of tomorrow and ensuring that the great Red Wing tradition will continue. Even Jimmy Howard has a good game (!!!).

Great result part two: The Habs pick up a loser point - just enough to put them back ahead of toronto in the standings.

In any game not involving the leafs, true hockey fans ALWAYS want to see a 3 point game, to make it easier for all teams to gain on the sad sack leafs.

Just got back from Garde Manger and i must say, i wanted to go back inside as soon as i walked out of the place... the stench was overwhelming.... i asked Chuck (Chuck Hughes, Master Chef) WTF was that and he smiled and said "the deadtroit red wings" .... i said "Ok, i wont hold it against you cause the supper was out of this world!" (he said "i cant promise you for saturday night when the Leafs are in town but at least they have a shot to make and go far in the playoffs, unlike the dead things")

What a Chef! :thumb:.........

No Tavares, no problem...as the Isles beat the leafs anyway (5-4). A typical leaf game: outshot by an embarrassing margin of 35-22. Always great to see Canada's National Embarrassment get what they deserve - namely a loss. The only bad news was that they picked up a loser point, keeping Koolaid sales high in hogtown.

Meanwhile, with the Mule back, the Wings cruised to another road victory by beating Ottawa 6-1, even though Z is still out and Pav is clearly not 100%. Great game by the Monster, who again proved that the stink of toronto has been washed away once and for all.

interesting how so many ex-leaf player like Steen flourish when they leave Toronto ...

But no other team comes close to the habs......Chelios, Lemieux, Richer, Ribeiro, Theodore, Halak, Cammalleri, Desjardins, Leclair, Grabovski, Robidas, Beauchemin, McDonagh, etc.

Not to forget all the coaches the habs have promoted & fired who went on to better n' bigger things elsewhere.....Bowman, Burns, Vigneault, Julien.

The entire league owes a big thanks to the habs for their tremendous generosity.

Just saying....:D

Take a shower more often, at the very lest ONCE a day. It will help. And wipe yourself, for god sake. Leaf fans are so full of it.

Look behind you.
Battle of Alberta tonight, used to be superb hockey many years ago and now bottom dwellers. Both teams can not score and it may end in a 0-1 win in a SO.

The entire league owes a big thanks to the habs for their tremendous generosity.

And yet in spite of this generosity, the Habs outplayed, outshot and BEAT the leafs to increase their lead on Canada's National Embarrassment.

Backup Habs goalie Peter Budaj outplayed "Tie Game Bernier"...or should I say "Delay of Game" Bernier?

The only bad news is that the leafs lucked into their second loser point in their last two games - two games where they LOST to the Islanders minus John Tavares and LOST to the Habs minus Carey Price.

Always great to see the stinkin' leafs do what they do best: LOSE!

I was at the game. I saw a couple of cretins wearing leaf jerseys - i wondered if it was our two resident village idiots ?

If one of them was short, fat, bald and putrid smelling, then it probably was.

Further Proof of leaf Mismanagement

Save percentages of current leaf goalies:

"Delay of Game" Bernier .924
"Am I Ever Gonna Play Again?" Reimer .911

Save percentages of goalies who USED to belong to the leafs:

Scrivens .934
Rask .927
Monster .915
Giguere .912

Note that ALL are better than Reimer and 2 of the 4 are better than "Delay of Game"!

Still MORE Proof That the leafs Don't Have a Clue

Goals Against Averages of current leaf goalies:

"Delay of Game" Bernier 2.63
"Woe Is Me" Reimer 3.25

Goals Against Averages of goalies who USED to belong to the leafs:

Scrivens 2.02
Rask 2.16
Monster 2.48
Giguere 2.62

Note that ALL are better than BOTH current leaf goalies!

3 leaf forwards

Colton Orr 45 games played, zero goals, zero assists, zero points, minus 4

Frazer McLaren 26 games played, zero goals, zero assists, zero points, minus 3

And now the REAL PRIZE:

David Clarkson 41 games played, 4 goals, 6 assists, 10 points, minus 5, suspended twice, a price tag of over $5 million a year for 7 freakin' years!
