Joe.t has the season ended already? Did I sleep through it? Don't get too overexcited yet my friend.

The Yankees have won between 2.2 and 3.2 games more than their adjusted figure, depending on which metric you choose.
The Royals have won between .6 and 2.2 games more than they should have.
What you'll find throughout is that the metrics tend to line up pretty well. I personally prefer 3rd order as it considers strength of schedule as well as run differential.

I seem to recall a lot of people laughing when the Yankees acquired Vernon Wells earlier this year from the Angels. Now the only people laughing are the Yankees, not only at you guys, but also at the Angels, for paying Wells $14.5 million per year on what remains on his contract so that he could have 9 homers and a .292 batting average as the Yankees starting left fielder (while the Yankees chip in the meager $6.5 million balance per year).

Vidal Nuno gets his first Yankees start in the 2nd game, ironically he was drafted by the Indians.
Iggy,
I don't know if you saw the analysis of Vernon Wells on Baseball Tonight by Aaron Boone but what has happened is the Yankees hitting coach Kevin Long shortened up his swing and the result is that Wells is killing fastballs. Video analysis by Aaron Boone and ESPN. It is not an accident that the Yankees have revived some dormant bats. It is called proper coaching and improved technique. Even professionals benefit from it.
