Thanks for all the info Mr. Holliday! As usual you are a step ahead of everyone around here. I would  if Babcock snubs detroit for Buffalo.

Also I like that Shanahan is not going crazy to sign Babs. I think he is the wrong guy to lead the rebuild in TO. Whats great is that he wont be signing in Montreal either.

Your welcome, Mister 69. I also wouldn't be surprised if the Big Cock would snub Detroit for Buffalo. I mean, who the hell would want to live in Detroit of all places? Even Edmonton & Winnipeg look like Xanadu next to run-down, crime-infested, bankrupt Detroit!

Toronto may have signed Babcock, but realized his contract demands didn't merit the return. Terry Pegula also made it known he'd overbid everyone & give the Big Cock all he wanted. How do you expect him to bring passion to his coaching when it's obvious he's only in it for the money??

Many teams realized he's no better than the likes of Hitchcock, McLellan & even Therrien. Heck, some believed he was heading to Philly until Hextall surprised everyone and hired a college hockey no-name named Hakstol. And let's be honest: Big Cock hasn't really done much in Detroit over the past 8 years and that team certainly isn't ready to contend for the Cup for another 5 years or more.

I hope he enjoys his millions & living in Buffalo!

I must admit that if i'd be a Detroit Red Wings fan, i'd be extremely troubled if Babcock chose Buffalo over his long-time team.

I'd also admit that Doc Holliday was right all along...he's been saying for over a year that Babcock would leave the crappy Detroit area for greener pastures. The Doc was right again!! :D

As expected by many (incl. myself), the Boston Bruins have just named Don Sweeney as their new GM. No word on the status of current coach Claude Julien.

And believe it or not, one of my sources has just informed me that the Leafs are not totally out of the Babcock picture. Same with the Red Wings. Negotiations with Buffalo are reported to be goin going well, but still no signature on a contract.

Senators re-sign Hamburglar

The Sens announced that they just re-signed goaltender Andrew Hammond for three years at $1.35 million per season. Which likely means that Robin Lehner will be traded somewhere during the offseason.

According to TSN's Darren Dreger, both the Leafs and Sabres are currently involved in a bidding war for Babcock. As for Detroit, their final offer was reported to be 5 years at $4 million per season. I'm betting he'll chose the money & much better living conditions than crappy Detroit.

According to Bob McKenzie of TSN, Babcock is out in Buffalo.

According to Aaron Ward of TSN, Babcock has decided to leave Detroit.

It's also been reported that St-Louis GM Doug Armstrong is meeting with Ken Hitchcock.

Babs always said his WIFE would play a huge part of where they ended up. Is she Canadian?

-He told St-Louis two days ago that they were out of the running.
-Bob McKenzie tweeted that Buffalo is out of the running & they firmly believed until this morning that he'd sign with them.
-Aaron Ward tweeted that he's decided to leave Detroit.
-Word flying around was that his wife has been wanting to relocate to Canada for some time.
-Toronto got back in the running this morning when they realized they were being outbid by Buffalo, of all places.
-There is a rumour flying around that MLSE's private jet is currently on its way to Detroit.
-TSN/ESPN's Pierre Lebrun has just tweeted that the San Jose Sharks are out of the running.

Will the great Mike Babcock land in Toronto?

Pierre Lebrun tweeted that San Jose is officially out of the running. As for Mr. Babcock's wife, she's from Saskatchewan, where they grew up and met. Her name is Maureen.

Me thinks Maureen would love living in beautiful (and very rich) Toronto, one of the most beautiful cities on the planet.

p.s. Me thinks our good friend Mr. Cairo is currently going through a bad case of indigestion. ;)

In his press conference earlier today, new Bruins GM Don Sweeney said that Claude Julien is the Bruins' coach TODAY.

I guess with a vote of confidence like that, Mr. Julien will soon be packing his luggage on his way out of Boston.

Sayonara, Claude!! You are one hell of a coach if you ask me! :thumb:

THIS JUST IN:

According to Bob McKenzie of TSN, the Toronto Maple Leafs will soon make an announcement to inform the world that they've just hired the great Mike Babcock.

Yeah, baby!! :thumb:

Note: It's also been confirmed by Darren Dreger of TSN and Elliott Friedman of HNIC. The deal will make him the highest-paid hockey coach in history!! It's rumoured to be 8 years for $50 million and the deal will be front-loaded for the first two years of the contract. More details to follow.

ONE PERSON HAS BEEN SAYING FOR OVER A YEAR THAT MIKE BABCOCK WOULD LEAVE DETROIT AND COME TO TORONTO. HIS NAME: DOC HOLLIDAY.
