Please tell us how beautiful the female F1 fan is in Australia ?
I know for sure the Quebecois chicas are smoking hot race weekend

Aussie women are among the most beautiful women on the planet, in my opinion. They love life and are very approachable.

Watching my second F1 race in Australia was a blast! I also enjoyed tasting various Aussie beer brands that i never would have had the chance to taste had i not been Down Under recently. The Aussies actually brew great beer!

Monte Carlo has been on my radar since i was a teenager watching my hero Gilles Villeneuve racing through its streets in his Ferrari. Two years ago, one of my colleagues visited Monaco during his honeymoon and raved about it!

However, Europe isn't exactly on my radar these days considering it's getting more and more dangerous to travel there due to terrorism and my guess is that it'll only get worst.

Still debating if i'll attend the Montreal race in June. I've only been there once and i wasn't too impressed with the large crowds, especially considering how warm it was that summer.

Do any of you gentleman go to the F1 MTL race?

Thinking about going this year for first time ever but weekend passes (from vendor) are around $450 CDN face value.

Better off buying them now or will ticket brokers (scalpers) sell them for cheaper on race weekend? Thanks

This qualifying format is horrible

Rather than racing to the last possible second, teams are now content to sit in the pits on their prior times

What a disaster

I go every year, weekend general passes are $125.00 ( stand or bring lawn chair in the smallest places available, not much fun as the best viewing spots are set up with stands ), get grandstand seats ( cheapest are about $275 ) http://www.circuitgillesvilleneuve.ca/en/tickets/tickets-2016
Best bet is to spend the money for grandstand tickets as they also have a huge screen in front of them, cheap ones sell out fast, the extra $150 is worth it.

General admission somewhat worthless then?

Your best bet is to do what i do. Stay home or in your hotel room and watch the race on tv. You'll actually get to watch the race and without the huge crowd.

I went one year and felt i was melting like butter in that extreme heat. The lineups for the bathrooms were unreal. It took an eternity to leave after the race and the lineups were crazy. I'm sure someone must have died from heat stroke and/or heat exhaustion that day once the race was over. And once the race started, it was impossible to follow. All you saw was a blur going by. Most of the people in attendance would wind up looking at the monitors all the time to try to figure what was going on. As i headed back to my hotel late that Sunday afternoon, i swore i'd never go back again.

While i may never attend the race itself again, it doesn't mean i'll stop going to Mtl during that weekend. The festivities downtown are fun. Sure, overcrowded again, but still fun if the weather cooperates. And on Sunday, i'd watch the race nice & comfortable in my hotel room. With air conditioning and without the crowds. And when i feel like going to the bathroom, i won't have to stand in a lineup forever and risk peeing my pants.

Word of advice if you decide to go anyway: don't drink any beer since you'll wind up having to go to the bathroom. Make sure you have your bowel movement before the race, or else you may wind up regretting it.

I have to agree with Doc on the above. I invite friends over, champagne, Bbq, 4K HD TV, etc... It's the best.

Does anyone know if I am better of paying the 500 CDN now (which seems insane for a dying sport lol) for a weekend pass or can I wait until race weekend and buy them off StubHub etc. at a substantial discount?

I found a youtube video of the general admission "view" so want a decent seat if I go.

But definitely appreciate MD's point about melting away if its a hot summer day.

I bought the weekend pass when i went back in 2006. Although i didn't stay around for all the practice sessions (it rained the first day, so i skipped it), there was a pretty good party (with beautiful women at the premises) going on at the site. I wish i had brought my camera along in order to take pictures with the young women, etc. I also believe chances of getting a better seat increase considerably by purchasing the weekend pass.

Nico won in Sochi..counting the 3 wins in the last 3 races last year, and the 4 to start this season..that is 7 in a row

He joins Alberto Ascari and Michael Schumacher who also won 7 in a row, and Sebastian Vettel who won 9 in a row..

Lewis Hamilton was so pissed off that he couldnt mask his anger..he refused to spray champagne and actually stood on the side while the others celebrated

When things go his way..he's all smiles
When they don't...:boom:

I so wish I was in Barcelona this weekend...one day .....:plane:

Red Bull has demoted Danil Kyvat to junior team Toro Rosso

And Toro Rosso has sent Max Verstappen to Parent team Red Bull....:boom:

I hope Fernando Alonso does well at his home race
His reaction in the press conference to the " driver switch "

Glad to see Kyvat demoted. I'm surprised it became so public, but my guess is that the team wanted to show him who's boss and give him a dose of reality. He's just Danil Kyvat, not Michael Schumacher.

Love Max Verstappen. I predict greatness for this kid. I like Fernando Alonso, but his best days are behind him. To my surprise, i've become a Sebastien Vettel fan since he's moved to Ferrari. I used to hate him when he was at Red Bull.

Would love to attend this year's race in Mtl, but the ticket i want is $500 and i'm not sure i'm willing to spend that much when i can watch the entire race (and qualifications) right at home sitting in my lazy boy chair. The hotel rates are also sky-high for that weekend, as usual. And then there's my annual excursion to the Jazz fest a couple of weeks later. Maybe next year.

This was the most exciting race of the season...

Congrats to Max Verstappen.

I put the blame mostly on Hamilton for the accident.

Love Max Verstappen. I predict greatness for this kid.
Great to see the kid win yesterday in his first race with the Red Bull team!!!! :thumb:

Not only is he the youngest racer to lead a lap in an F1 race, not only is he the youngest racer to win an F1 GP, he is also the only dutchman to ever win an F1 Grand Prix!!!

It was a great race and i was only too happy to see the two Mercedez knock each other out of the race!!! And so early!!! :)

Red Bull and Ferrari's strategy to make Riccardo and Vettel pit one more time was questionable and Riccardo even alluded to this in his post-race comments. Had they been kept out for one less pit stop (like Verstappen and Raikonen), i'm certain either Vettel or Riccardo would have won the race. But that's the beauty of F1 racing!
