It's no secret on Merb that I have been saying for years that Hamilton is the biggest asshole in F1 off the track and on the track...He's plain and simple a selfish pompous brat!...And its great to hear that F1 great and his boss Niky Lauda at Mercedes concurs with such a statement! Someone has to take-out this punk before he kills someone on the track! This is not Nintendo or PlayStation!

Question for you guys:

I read that Hamilton in 2007 received a speeding ticket and was suspended from racing in France after being caught traveling 122 mph /196 kph on a French highway while driving his Mercedes Benz CLK. It's not exactly the first time a professional race car driver got a speeding ticket- I recall a few of the big NASCAR drivers getting similar tickets.

I am wondering if his attorney could have, or did make the argument that the speed he was caught traveling at was actually a slow speed by F1 standards and that due to his profession he can actually travel quite safely in a passenger vehicle on a highway at such speed without causing any issues. I think one of the NASCAR guys who was actually ticketed on a country road and not a highway made a similar argument. How would this fly with prosecutors in Montreal if Hamilton is ticketed going 196 kph on Route 15 south going to I-87 in his Mercedes Benz CLK? There isn't much traffic on that road and probably even during F1 weekend it won't be bad until the end of that weekend. How does this argument fly with a Montreal prosecutor?

Red Bull and Ferrari's strategy to make Riccardo and Vettel pit one more time was questionable and Riccardo even alluded to this in his post-race comments. Had they been kept out for one less pit stop (like Verstappen and Raikonen), i'm certain either Vettel or Riccardo would have won the race. But that's the beauty of F1 racing!

After the First lap incident, both teams changed their pit stop strategies

One driver was put on a 2 stop, his teammate was put on a 3 stop
Circuit deCatalunya is well known as causing high tire degradation, especially to the left fronts...

Daniel Riccardo was a bit pissed that he was picked with the other strategy :

My Dutch friends have been telling me that last night was party central in Amsterdam, as mostly every TV replayed the race

The window girls were talking of the huge win, as well :grouphug:

FYI..Renault is bringing their new spec powerplant to Montreal for its debut...

Monaco-
First of all, Max Verstappen crashed in both Qualifying (which started him last ) , and in the race

Second- Daniel Riccardo got fucked by his team again, after he pitted and his tires were still in the garage
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8FTR78yIPxI

Third - Lewis Hamilton won after criticizing his team after yesterday's qualifying, but was all smiles after the win ( Typical Hamilton ) . He even had time to celebrate with his piece of shit buddy Justin Bieber at the podium ( Thanks for getting dressed Biebs :pound: ) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w_xfBnZlFi8
Totally no respect for the Royal Family waiting for the winner on the podium

Side note- today's Indy 500 winner was Alexander Rossi
Rossi is an American who is the reserve driver for Manor Racing in Formula One . Rossi ( who drove part time for Manor last year ) lost his seat in the offseason to Rio Haryanto ( bankrolled by the governmemt of Indonesia )
Even before the Indy race today, the F1 commentators were speculating that Rio might be out of a drive soon, as the Indonesian government was downscaling their financial backing of him. He came in last today, actually 4 laps down

Do not be surprised if somehow Rossi appears at the next race in Canada as the new Manor driver. He currently races for Michael Andretti, and I'm sure Bernie Ecclestone is talking with Mario and Michael on how to get this done...

I was watching the race on tv and looking at the crowd and how much the racers appeared to be freezing prior to the race, i was starting to wonder if it wasn't going to snow! It sure looked cold out there, especially with the strong winds!

It was an okay race. Kinda of boring, actually. And that prick Hamilton won again! Grrrr!

It was cold out there. The best part of the race was the first few seconds, when Vettel overtook Ham from the left. Seeing it live was awesome.

I agree, the first lap was a very good one, which is usually the case in F1 racing.

I attended one GP....back in 2006. It has to be one of the worst live spectator sports out there, if not THE worst! Other than the start of the race, most of the action occurs elsewhere and whenever a car would come by it went by like a blurr! I spent most of the race watching it at the monitors since there wasn't much else to watch. And i had a premium ticket. The best place to watch that race is from the VIP area where all the celebrities are. They have the best spot!

At least it didn't rain or wasn't cold when i was there, but leaving the race once it was over was a total nightmare!! I don't believe i had ever seen such a long lineup of people waiting to take the subway. I must have been in line for nearly 2 hours and to this day i'm still dumbfounded how no one died from heat stroke or a heart attack just from waiting that long in that line in that smothering heat.

They need to seriously consider moving the race to a future date in the summer maybe by a week, I have been going to the F1 weekend for the past 10 years, half the time that I went the weather was brutal(dark, cloudy, raining, cold etc), the first week and a half of June is usually crap in these neck of the woods which ruins an otherwise great weekend party event, they should move it by one week if they can because the following week after the race is usually very hot which would make this event absolutely awesome.

This year has been an exception for crappy and unusual weather. It wouldn't surprise me if it snowed on Canada Day!!

Earlier today F1 boss Bernie Ecclestone referred to the Canadian Grand Prix's Montreal site as a rat hole. Again he talked about voiding the contract they have with the city if renovations are not made and completed by next year.

What surprised me were the comments from some locals in some local newspapers who printed the article, referring to Mtl as a financially starved dying city with an infrastructure that is in poor condition, whose roads, tunnels and bridges are in disarray. One reader even referred to it as the next Detroit within a few years and to my surprise many agreed with him.

I've been reading that although many people in Mtl want to prevent the GP from relocating elsewhere, others would rather get rid of it altogether since they claim its not worth the tax payers' expense to bring it to Montreal every year. Personally, i firmly believe hosting the GP brings the city and its business sector millions of dollars in revenue year after year. It also puts Montreal on the world map. Plus, it's good for the sex business. ;)

I thought he called mtl a shithole. Anyway, what is somewhat frustrating is that tonton Bernie wants us to invest 30M in paddocks and VIP loges, but he raises default clauses and wants to pull the Gp at the first occasion.
