I am pretty sure that the reason that Dallas Eakins is still coaching the Anaheim Not So Mighty Ducks is that he has photos of the Anaheim AD in bed with a woman who is not his wife. I cannot think of any other explanation as to why he still has his job.

McDavid: 54 points in 28 games = 1.93 points per game. This is just over Wayne Gretzky's career average of 1.92 points per game and Mario Lemieux's career average of 1.88 points per game.

The Edmonton Oilers are currently fighting for their playoff lives & hanging on to a playoff spot by 1 point in the very weak NHL’s Western Conference. Signing free agent goaltender Jack Campbell to a long contract appears to be a disaster & he’s no longer their starting goalie & they’re now relying on an unproven rookie named Skinner to try to lead them to the playoffs. With Leon Draisatl only having two more years remaining on his current & unlikely to re-sign it appears that their window to remain a competitive team is closing. But even worse is the fact the NHL’s #1 player Connor Mcdavid only has three years left on his current contract. The money is that he’ll be moving on & hit the free agent market three years from now & many expect he will sign with his hometown team the Toronto Maple Leafs. It’s always been a lifelong dream of his to play for the Leafs & it might just happen.

It’s very unlikely that Edmonton is just gonna let go Mcdavid and Draisaitl to free agency like they were normal players.
I’m pretty sure Connor’s lifelong dream is to win the Stanley Cup so him going to Toronto really…
The Leafs already have the most complex cap hit in the league and they are built backward with 40M$ cap space spent on only 4 forwards.

Edmonton just signed Mcdavid’s best friend Darnell Nurse for 8 years/ 9.25M and the Oilers still made it to the conference final last year probably aiming to do more damage this year.

Mcdavid hates Edmonton. Too cold, too small & too isolated. I know a few members of his family & they told me he can’t wait for his current contract to expire in order to escape from Alberta. I’m told the only Canadian team he’d consider moving to is his hometown of Toronto not only because he grew up being a Leafs fan but also to be closer to his family. But he’d also welcome relocating to the States if that was also an option. The Leafs may be able to sign him in three years once Auston Matthews goes back home to the States. John Tavares will also be gone at around the same time Mcdavid becomes UFA so that means there’ll be a lot of money left even if they re-sign hometown boy Mitchell Marner, who’s contract expires a year earlier and at the same time Draisatl’s contract expires. And more cap space coming with Nylander’s contract off the books a year from now. Just Nylander & Tavares’ contracts alone will leave the Leafs with tons of cap money left to sign Mcdavid if by chance they end up re-signing Matthews. Matthews, Mcdavid, Marner? The Three M’s playing together!

Unfortunately the Oilers will likely miss the playoffs this season. No goaltending, no defence. It’s still a two-man hockey team. Don’t get me wrong i’m an Oilers fan myself but i see Calgary making a playoffs push which means the Oilers are likely out. They lost again tonight against Nashville. Sad!

Anyway the real game tonight is with the real teams, Boston/NJ. I cant wait for this clash, NJ we're just amazing before going on a losing streak, their speed is unmatched in the league right now. If they are back on track this could a heck of a game.

Preview of IIHF World Junior Championships- no surprise here as Canada and the USA are the tournament favorites to win their respective groups and meet in the finals:

Here are the Groups:

Group A: Canada, Sweden, Czechia, Germany and Austria playing at Scotiabank Center in Halifax, Nova Scotia,

Group B has the United States, Finland, Switzerland, Slovakia and Latvia at Avenir Center in Moncton, New Brunswick.

Hopefully the New Brunswick fans show some love for North America/Team USA. Team USA is captained by Luke Hughes (younger brother of Jack and Quinn who play in the NHL) and the top line features Logan Cooley and Jimmy Sniggerud. Sniggerud is a 6'2" power forward thought to be an up and coming young player.

An opening loss is not the end of the world, as we saw with Argentina at the World Cup. However, there is now added pressure on Canada to beat Sweden which has a really, really good goalie who is tearing up the Swedish league. His name is Lindblom. You can't lose on home soil to both Czechia and Sweden.
