Karlsson will likely be shopped around like crazy by the rebuilding Sharks now that he’s finally playing his best hockey in years. But finding a trade partner won’t be easy considering his salary and especially the term left on this contract. Is it five years remaining? Ouch!

By the way great weekend by the Leafs who beat two of the NHL’s best teams in Boston & Carolina. It’ll shut up the chronic complainers & armchair coaches for a while. However Saturday they’re top goalie Ilya Samsonov hurt his left knee during a penalty shot to Brad Marchand & we’ve yet to know the severity of the injury. The #4 goaltender in the organization took over & played both games & played fantastic. They also had to sign one of their Marlies goalies to an NHL contract & called him up to back up Kalgren. The kid they signed (Keith Petruzzelli) has had very good success everywhere he’s played, was 6-0 with the Marlies & is listed at 6’6. He’s a giant!

The Bruins, who are 16-2, have tied an NHL record with their 11th straight home win!
Only the 1963-64 Blackhawks and the 2021-2022 Florida Panthers have won as many in a row at home in NHL history. Even the Orr teams in Boston which won 2 Stanley Cups and probably should have won 2 others did this.

That’s a great hockey team, no doubt they have one thing in mind that be another run at the Lord Stanley trophy.
Can’t wait for a classic clash Boston/Montréal, it’s a shame they only play 3 times against each other and not before late January.

13 wins in a row for Devils- ties the franchise record! They have been Devilishly good!
The Devils are at home against my Leafs tonight. The Leafs have lost their top 3 defencemen to long-term injuries but something tells me they might make it close tonight. The Devils are the top team in the New York area & Lindy Ruff is currently the top candidate to win the Jack Adams. I love their speed & skill but i still have questions about their goaltending.

You did not mention that the Devils had 3 goals disallowed and the fans pelted the ice with debris after the final one...........it's sports, sometimes the puck does not bounce the right way and sometimes mistakes are made.

The Seattle Kraken finally sent Shane Wright, who wasn't giving them any production at all, to the AHL. I guess Montreal knew what it was doing when it passed on him:
Slafkovsky seems slightly more ready and is minimally contributing. It's tough for these kids to be asked to play a man's game at age 18. It doesn't happen in any of the other sports. It's rare that a player becomes a starter in MLB before age 23. In NBA there are some 18/19 year olds on rosters but they are mostly getting minor bench minutes and being slowly developed. In the NFL it's also unusual to have any starters under age 21. So I feel bad for these kids who at a young age have a lot of pressure to be something, and are not ready to be anything.

That’s was anti-hockey what happened in that game yesterday, I would have probably done the same or worse if I would have been a Devils fan. It’s insanity the two goalies interference calls were absolute good goals and the third one is just bad rules.
I guess now when you’re scoring on the Leafs, it’s a really bad sign if they have to go to Toronto…

It should never happen on home ice that a team gets jobbed like that. Bad calls are part of sports, but 3 disallowed goals on bad calls is a bit too much to take.

That was one of the strangest game that i've ever watched! The Devils were going for their franchise record 14th consecutive win & had 3 goals disallowed. All 3 deserved to be disallowed, by the way. Maybe the first one was iffy but since the referee had immediately called goalie interference there wasn't enough video evidence to overturn his ruling. The other 2 calls were no-brainers. But the fans went crazy after that 3rd disallowed goal and flooded the ice with garbage & threw full cans of beer at the Maple Leafs players. So the Leafs emptied the bench & went back to the dressing room for safety purposes while they ice crew cleaned up the ice from all the debris, which caused a delay of about 15 minutes. Mitch Marner after the game said he had never experienced this type of behaviour from fans in his entire life & wondered why they would take up their frustration at the players when they had nothing to do with the referees' decisions. On top of that the Leafs who were already out of their top 3 defencemen lost to long-term injuries lost another defenceman (Jordie Benn) to a long-term injury. So now they're out 4 defencemen & have called up a couple of kids whose name i have never heard of. Matt Murray was absolutely fantastic between the pipes, by the way. Right now it looks like Ottawa will regret trading him (and paying part of his salary on top of that) and the Leafs may not regret letting Jack Campbell leave for Edmonton on a big contract since he's absolutely sucked the joint so far this season & has lost his starting goaltender job to some big kid named Skinner.

Although the Leafs have all those injuries to their defencemen & lost their top 2 goaltenders to long-term injuries they've managed to play pretty good and now are #4 overall in the NHL standings. And Auston Matthews has had a slow start to the season (to his standards) so look out once he gets going! They're in Minnesota for a 2pm game tomorrow & Murray will be back between the pipes with now the oldest player in the entire league (Mark Giordano) leading the defence. The coaching staff has done a masterful coaching job to keep the Leafs among the top 5 teams in the standings. Go Leafs Go!

Bad calls???? Obviously you didn't watch the game or seen the replays. The calls were all no-brainers other than maybe the first goal which was iffy but the referee had immediately called goalie interference on the goal & video replay wasn't enough to overturn the call. Most of the experts said the referees made the right call.

The fans behaviour justifies why Qatar forbids alcohol to be sold at the World Cup. Classless!

I respectfully disagree. Here is an extended intelligent analysis of all 3 disallowed goals with video and analysis of video:
These calls were in no way, shape or form "no brainers." They were all questionable. You are letting the fanboy in you guide your posts and fanboy posting is not what's needed here. The above article contains the legit analysis of these disallowed goals. 1 bad call at home you can live with, but 3 questionable disallowed goals? Come on now. Please explain how any contact with Murray interfered with his ability to make that save on the first goal. He had full extension. He was just late to react, like 99% of other goalies when they allow goals. The contact didn't cause the late reaction.

For the second goal, if there is incidental contact with a goalie out of the net the goal shall NOT be disallowed. Murray got in Tatar's way. You ever hear the saying, "get the fuck out of my way you are in my lane of traffic?" Murray skated into Tatar's straight line path. It's equivalent to a hitter in baseball leaning over the plate and getting hit by the pitch. It's a strike and not a HBP because of Don Baylor doing this all the time. Get the fuck out of the way! That's the rule in baseball and in hockey for goalies outside the net.

The 3rd one was the easiest: insufficient replay evidence of anything to disallow the goal!!

It's pretty clear the Devils were jobbed and the fan reaction was either highly appropriate or understated. The referees should have been disallowed and ejected!

The people behind this very amateurish hockey site obviously are fans of the Devils & any other similar site could easily do the same thing & prove their point that the correct calls were made. The bottom line is that the officials (on-ice & off-ice) enforced the rule book to a T and unfortunately for the Devils it didn’t go their way. I watched the game live on Sportsnet & while we watched the video reviews at the same time as the on-ice officials the tv commentators all were unanimous in that the goals would be disallowed goals if the officials applied the rule book. Like i said the only slightly questionable one was the first goal when the NJ player’s skate came into contact with Murray’s skate in the crease a fraction of a second before the puck went in. That decision could have went either way depending on interpretation of the rule. But whether it counted or not that’s not why NJ lost the game. As a matter of fact Toronto easily could have won by 2 or 3 goals but that’s the great game of hockey for you. As for all the debris that was more likely due to hockey fans who drank a bit too much since they had begun celebrating Thanksgiving a tad early and the majority of them were clueless to the NHL rule book. As a matter of fact the on-ice officials could have easily chosen to give the Devils a penalty for delay of game due to the home team fans causing a 15 minute delay due to their stupid antics. The Devils got away with one there. But hey who’s complaining? lol

Leafs win again! 4-3 in a hard-fought contest against Minnesota! Matt Murray played great once again! Thank you Ottawa for the gift! The Leafs play Pittsburgh tomorrow & i hope they rest Murray & play their third goalie! Go Leafs Go!
