That's why i would go with the JETS....they have many good/talented players and their goaly is a big plus this year.

On another aspect, the new Rangers goon Matt Rempe has been thrown out after a vicious elbow blind hit to the head on a Devils player.
I hope he will get suspended !
He will for sure...my bet would b 5 games...this kid deserves a serious notice....and they really don't need this type of player....hope he will learn as ARBER here with the HABS.
I believe that Toronto has significantly improved as a team compared to previous years. The Oilers had a rough start to the season, only winning 3 out of their first 11 games, but surprised everyone by going on a 16-game winning streak, coming close to tying the league record of 17 consecutive wins. This unexpected success has positioned Edmonton as a strong contender this year. If they can carry this momentum into the playoffs, they will be a tough team to beat.
I also like Winnipeg,the key player for the them is their underrated goalie, Hollewbuck, who has made a significant impact on their performance. Despite not having any standout scorers on their roster, having a reliable goalie like Hollewbuck can make all the difference.
I have a strong belief that a Canadian team will make it to the final, and I am so confident in this prediction that I am negotiating a bet with my bookie. I am proposing a wager of 10k at 4/1 odds for a potential return of 40k, betting on a Canadian team making the finals. My bookie has agreed to take the bet, further solidifying my confidence in this outcome.
You were close. He got 4 games. I figured they’d give him a game or two but i was wrong. I’m surprised many on social media are saying that he should have got more.
I was listening to Tony Marinaro on JiC and he said that Rempe doesn’t belong in the NHL. He said he doesn’t have the talent to play in the NHL & that he’s a dangerous player. He added that this is the NHL & not the semi-pro league which was infested with violent incidents back in the day. The worse part that JiC pointed out is that he’s also potentially dangerous to his own teammates since when he chickened out of McDermid’s offer to fight him McDermid could have very easily said “fine then i’m going to go after one of your star players like Panarin.” If you’re 6’7 and want to lay out dirty hit after dirty hit then you should be willing to answer the bell when challenged.
Marinaro added that Rempe isn’t good for the NHl since right now people are talking about him more than they’re talking about a player like McDavid. He makes a good point.
Toronto had a better team last year at this time than they currently do. Tavares was a year younger & playing better. They also had more grit (in my opinion) with the likes of Acciari, Lafferty, Bunting, Blackwell, Kerfoot, Holl & Schenn. With Schenn as Morgan Rieilly’s partner i found they complemented one another tremendously. And Brody & Giordano were a year younger & it showed. They’ve both struggled this season. Justin Holl had his share of critics but he was always on the top pair of the PK & the PK was substancially quite better than this season, which has been the team’s achilles heel all season long. As for the goaltending Samsonov has settled down & playing as well as he did last season while Woll was the Leafs’ #1 goalie until he got injured. Sure they have Domi & Bertuzzi who have grit & have been strong playoff performers in the past but will it be enough? I like the addition of Edmundson but of it means sitting Simon Benoit or Giordano i’m not sure it’s much of an improvement. My guess is that eventually Brody will be switched back to right defence in Lilligren’s spot in order to make room for Benoit or Giordano, who have considerably more grit & toughness and are more responsible defensively. As for Ryan Reaves i’ve really enjoyed what i’ve seen of him over the past month or so. The guy can play hockey & makes a contribution on the ice every shift he plays. He’s a tremendous bodychecker & has a great work ethic. He’s respected among his teammates & from what i’m told is looked upon as a leader within the dressing room. He only has three fights this season & this is why i admire him even more. At the beginning of the season i was against his signing figuring he couldn’t really contribute & wouldn’t play much in the playoffs. But from watching him play over the past month & listening to Vegas players who played with him last season in their quest to win the Stanley Cup i admit that i was totally wrong about him & now look his signing as a positive one.
With teams like Florida, Tampa, Nashville, Dallas & Vegas located in markets where there are state taxes it’s getting more difficult for Canadian franchises to keep up since Canadian players would rather play in a market which benefits them financially & where they aren’t playing as much under a microscope. In other words it’s rare that a Canadian will agree to take less money to play in Canada. This is a business after all & you can’t fault a player for putting himself & his family first since once their career ends the revenue stream is cut down dramatically. And the hard salary complicates things even more since these US teams i mentioned previously play under the same cap system as their Canadian counterparts & they’re able to attract better players & pay them less since the tax difference & the climate makes playing in these markets more attractive to free agents or potential free agents. It’s not a fair & balanced system & Canadian teams are constantly behind the 8-ball to compete with their American counterparts for the Stanley Cup. The only solution to this deficiency would be to eliminate the cap altogether but i can’t see the NHL agreeing to this. However maybe adopting a softer cap system in the future could be more realistic.

He could have elbowed Siegenthaler much harder than he did. 4 game suspensions should be for giving someone your best shot, and this was far from Matt Rempe's best shot. He laid up and didn't give Siegenthaler the blow he could have delivered. I say reduce it to 2. This was a reputation suspension, which was unfortunate because fans are deprived of seeing the NHL's most intimidating and promising young goon

I spoke to some other fans and they agree 1-2 game suspension. Rangers really lose something because in the PP Rempe attacks the net and completely blocks the opposing goalie from seeing anything. He is really big!
Of course he got 4 games, he’s a goon! Come on EB, you know better than that. At over 240 lbs and with a few skates that he took to get more speed, the only reason why the other player could get up is because Rempe missed him, but the intention was clearly there.

I watched hockey for more than sixty years to see good players.
I have seen too many stars injured by illegal hits by players that were playing just for that purpose.
The player he tried to decapitate didn’t have the puck & it was a late hit. Looking at the replay again there is no doubt that it was an attempt to injure. Had he achieved his goal the NJ player’s season would have likely been over. Rempe did the same thing to Lyubushkin in Toronto last week & should have got a penalty. My guess is the league’s thinking is that they need to put an end to this nonsense now or else they’ll risk getting another player much more seriously injured in the future.
Tonight i’ve been hearing that there’s a chance Rempe’s season may be over if his replacement for the next four games is able to contribute to the team positively. Rempe likely won’t play in the playoffs anyway & the Rangers may use this opportunity to see what they have in order to get ready for their playoffs run next month. Why Rempe won’t likely play? He plays just over four minutes a game & in the playoffs you can’t have absolutely useless players taking up a valuable roster spot in the playoffs, especially when it’s a very high-risk player who more than likely will end up taking stupid penalties & put your team short of a player in key playoff games where special teams will be the key to winning.

It's over, the Rangers and Igor Shesterkin have shut out Carolina 1-0 in Carolina. Shesterkin's roll continues, and the Rangers offense came on Adam Fox's 11th goal, one off his career high. Fox now has 52 points in 55 games, continuing his consistent torrid play of the last 2 seasons.
