At this moment McDavid is the #1 player world wide, imho.
He isn't number 1 as a 2 way player and let's not forget he absolutely sucks on faceoffs. Sidney Crosby leads the NHL in faceoff wins by over 100- McDavid isn't even in the top 25. Draisaitl his teammate is much better and is in the top 10.

What about Kucherov and McKinnon? They are no good?

Being #1 in abilities, power and vision doesn’t mean nobody else is good

Kuznetsov waived by Capitals! He was a 78 pint player as recently as 21-22, but he has been complete garbage the last 2 seasons. One wonders whether, at only age 31, he has relapsed into the cocaine abuse that got him suspended in 2019. He is in the player's assistance program, and one must ask why, but one will not get any answers from the Caps:
A team with some confidence in the assistance program and their own drug abuse rehab professionals might take a chance on him.

Oilers who many wrote off at the beginning of tje season just took 2nd in the Pacific. If and a big if they win the games in hand against Vancouver they would be 1 point behind.

Ruff Fired! If you live in the NYC area, this is not surprising news. His job security has been called into question ever since he blamed the media for placing "extra pressure"on his players by asking them about their power play woes. In other words, he blamed the media for doing their jobs in trying to find answers on why the Devils PP sucks so bad:
Another problem the Devils have had is using 3 goalies, only to discover that none of them has played well enough to be something more than a backup. It's a big problem when none of the goalies on your roster show signs of being a long term starter.

It's generally fatal for any head coach in any sport once they lose the respect of the NYC media. I can tick off a roll call of coaches and managers in football, baseball, basketball and hockey who were quickly run out of town once the media turned on them.

TORT suspended 2 games....should have received an OSCAR for his performance....it was a great moment.....lolllll
For refusing to leave bench after being assessed a game misconduct that was questionable:
"I've never seen that," Philadelphia center Sean Couturier said. "Did he really deserve to get kicked out, honestly, after what he said? He didn't say much."

FLYERS CEO To Pay Tortorella $50,000 Fine

Whether Tortorella actually has to pay is unknown. Flyers CEO Dan Hilferty told Al Morganti of NBC Sports Philadelphia he’d pay any fine the NHL levies.
“I’m really proud of Torts for standing up for his/our team,” Hilferty said, according to a Morganti tweet. “This new era of Orange is about having each other’s backs. Last night, Torts had our collective backs. I respect any action the league might feel a need to take but if it includes a fine, I am paying it.”

I am feeling quite confident this year that a Canadian team has a solid chance of making it to the finals. My prediction is that either the Winnipeg Jets, Edmonton Oilers, or Toronto Maple Leafs could be the ones to advance. Toronto, in particular, stands out to me as a strong contender. I believe they have shown significant growth in maturity this season, and their defense has notably improved from previous years. This improvement leads me to believe that they are less likely to experience the same setbacks that have plagued them in the past.

On the other hand, I must express my disappointment in the Montreal Canadiens. It seems that they consistently struggle to secure victories, often losing in the final moments of the game. Their tendency to lose crucial matches, especially in the closing minutes, is disheartening. If I were a ticket holder for the Canadiens, I would undoubtedly be considering requesting a refund.

In terms of my predictions, I am confident that a Canadian team will be represented in the finals. I am giving them odds of 4/1 to secure a spot in the playoffs final and 8/1 to claim the Stanley Cup. Given my optimism, I am strongly considering placing a substantial bet on a Canadian team making it to the finals.
