The Eagles lost the game, and they lost the game because their coach took 3 points off the board by foolishly going for it on 4th and 3 instead of kicking an easy FG. They lost by 1 point and deserved to have this happen to them. As Troy Aikman pointed out, that never would have been done in the NFL 30 years ago.

And the Falcons covered, and they covered because all of you underestimated Kirk Cousins. Kirk Cousins has been underestimated before, and he taught you guys a lesson others have learned about underestimating him.

Wild wild week in the league.
8 underdogs with outright wins.

Indeed it was a tough week for betters including me! Many underdogs won but like I mentioned previously not all of them were total surprises. The Lions & Eagles losing were mostly due to critical coaching mistakes. The Bengals could have won & upset KC but literally gave the game away due to their indiscipline. So that would have been one more added to the list. However for me the upsets that totally surprised me were the Saints destroying the Cowboys on the road & the Raiders with upsetting the heavily favoured Ravens.

This is the best move for Tua whom i was told was planning to return as soon as he got medical clearance. The move will give him time to further evaluate his future & buys the Dolphins time to figure out their options. If Tua ends up missing even more time a QB that isn’t currently available may end up being one of their options. If they’re stuck with Skylar Thompson going forward I can’t see them making the playoffs. They may even end up behind the Patriots in the AFC East!

Fins added Tyler Huntley yesterday as well.
I wouldn’t be shocked if he’s their starter as early as week 4 or 5.
He played extremely well when Lamar went down a couple years back.
I haven’t seen much of Thompson, but what I remember, he’s not a serviceable backup, yet alone starter.

Patriots vs Jets (-6.5)
I’m going with a hunch on this one: I’m picking the Patriots against the spread. If the Pats run the ball down the Jets defence’s throats all game long they have a chance to upset them. I really like the Patriots defence & Jacobi Brisset is a reliable, decent veteran NFL QB who’s more suited for a backup role however if they keep the ball on the ground & surprise the Jets with a few passes once in a while they have a chance. The key may be having to play penalty-free football.

Third game in 10 days for NYJ, and just 3 days between games for NE. Brutal all around for both teams.

The Pats could surprise. But I think smart $ is on Jets. Not sure Garrett Wilson will do much vs Christian Gonzo. And outside of Breece Hall, there’s not a ton of talent for the Jets offensively. Problem is that there’s less on the Pats!

I’m thinking big games for both Hall and Stephenson on the ground. More FG’s than TD’s. Jets win outright. NE to cover the 6.5.

Although he is the youngest player in the NFL at age 20 and just a rookie, Braelon Allen was very impressive last week. For a 235 pound RB, he is awfully fast. Hall had 76 receptions last year and almost 1000 yards, playing with nobody at QB. I think he will be used even more in a pass catching role while young Allen will assume some of his rushing workload. Hall and Wilson are really the only significant pass catching threats.

It wasn’t much of a game & i stopped watching early in the third quarter since it was by then rather obvious that the Patriots just weren’t in the game. Playing only 4 days is absolutely brutal & i said the same thing a week ago when the Bills played the Dolphins. It’s downright dangerous & will cause more injuries to happen. Players are sore, tired & don’t get enough recuperation time between games. Maybe that’s what led to Tua’s injury, we’ll never know. Plus not enough time to practice & preparation time. I remember not that long ago when the experts were complaining about having played a previous Monday night game being harder on the team who had missed out on the extra day’s rest!

Anyways the Pats got their butts kicked & the Jets played like a team destined for the playoffs. But the Pats had key injuries to their offensive line & when a struggling team suffers key injuries it looks worse than a good team having injuries. The impact looks worse. But Rogers played great & his passes were sharp. Imagine if the Bears had a passer like Rogers instead of Caleb Williams right now? Last Sunday night their WR were getting exasperated with Williams throwing the ball all over the place & regularly missing his targets! Bad teams often end up regretting throwing out their prized rookie QBs out to the wolves instead of taking their time & ease them into the game by having them learn behind a veteran QB. Bryce Young being the latest among a long list of QB busts whose NFL careers were destroyed or nearly destroyed by impatient teams. Will Caleb Williams be next?

You’re absolutely right.

Carolina had a vet in Dalton last year they could have started to allow Young to season and learn the NFL. But every team who drafts a QB in the 1st round, all think they’re getting Mahomes 2.0. Wrong!!

Many criticized Green Bay when they took Love early in the draft, just to have him sit behind Rodgers for 2 years, now look at him!!

Rogers himself stood on the sidelines for a couple of seasons watching & learning from the legendary Brett Favre. Tom Brady is the perfect example & he ended up being the GOAT! Mahomes had the personnel already in place when he started out. Same with CJ Stroud. Or Andrew Luck, John Elway & Dan Marino. That’s also very important. Carolina got rid of their best WR & tons of high draft picks in order to draft Bryce Young. That’s not how you ease a potential future star QB into the league! Anyways the main problem with Carolina is the owner whom most people say is the worse owner in the NFL by far!

I think this was more due to the Patriots OL sucking monkey balls. However, even when protected, Brissett is not a threat to throw the ball down the field. The Patriots offense isn't scaring anyone.

The Patriots were awful and looked like a team that will lose 12-14 games. Rodgers looked great! His passes were on the money and he moved and ran well.
They looked like an expansion team. They also have no passing game. They had a couple of starters on the offensive line who were out so maybe that’s why they didn’t run as much as i thought they would. Starting players in crappy teams are nearly impossible to replace on a crappy team. Rogers did look extremely good & his offensive line played very well. But i won’t get too excited until i’ve seen them play against some of the top teams. The Jets are 2-1 and instead should ne 1-2 had it not been for the Titans blowing a very winnable game last Sunday.
