agency website rant!

Why do agency websites...

  • Have flash intros
  • Have flash menus
  • Not have pictures bigger than a 1990s era pixilated GIFs, or pictures completely obscured by agency watermark
  • Not list age/height/weight stats, or make this hard to find
  • Not specify whether they are incall or outcall on the home page
  • Have dozens of girls on the site, but it's obvious only 2-3 are active
  • Make me click on the girl to find out information

All I want is a page with availability, stats, prices, incall/outcall, contact info. And the girls on the same page in some sort of grid or list with their stats next to a picture. Services and bio information when you click the picture. Bad or overly complicated webdesign is so irritating!

Thanks for reading my rant! :D

Why?

The only reasons I can think of are to drive us insane and drive away business.

I'm not going to access these sites from my computer at work. However, my planning means I need to access them during the work day shortly before I leave on a trip. Therefore, I need to use my phone on which many of these sites are completely useless.

Sharing links with these flash sites is impossible, so my wife can't send me a link from her researches (or vice-versa) to check out.

Right now, Eleganza seems to have the most usable site and Queens of Spades the most awful among the ones I typically visit, but honestly they're all terrible.

Especially that Flash thing annoy hell out of me, for example QOS it is so badly made, each time you have to click thousand of time to come on who's on tonight :S cant they just make a simple pages .

Pics same some of them have put them so Tiny cant see much, we are in world of HD and they cant put a pic more than 320 x :S.

Also that overkill of copyright written on pics, like Montreal sex city OMG you cant even see the picture there is so much written on it lmao why the hell they take a pic if they have to spoil it with that stupid website adress over and over again

For some serious business issues that I won't explain, and this doesn't seem to disturb our regular clientele that can focus on the ladies instead of this.

Jessie, the marking can be more discrete and as effective. Easy in photoshop, just need a transparent layer.

As old style as it is, I love Asservissante's site. Clean, easy to use, nothing useless. It does look ancient but it does the job just right.

The problem with lots of web sites is they put more importance on the container than they do on the content. That's not only in the escort industry, it's everywhere. The sites are supposed to promote the services of the featured company, not the web designer. The web designer should always ensure his/her knowledge stay in the background and doesn't interfere with the service/product featured on the site. Too many sites forget this simple rule. A site that look great is useless if the content can't be extracted easily, intuitively and quickly.

I can swear there was a similar discussion a while ago but I can't find it!

Exactly, and I can give you the perfect example: Our Affair. I've met two of their women and will soon meet a third despite the fact that they're incall and I don't do incall. Despite the fact that none had prior reviews and I always rely on prior reviews.

Why? First, the site is uncluttered and their pictures are of good size and first rate. Second, each woman has her own page and prominently featured on the page are not only the pictures but a couple of paragraphs of text written by the woman herself. In several cases, the writing is sublimely seductive. They have quite effectively reeled me in in a way that no other website has come close to doing.

I do understand perfectly your point. But the business issues we had in the past
related to pictures as completly vanished with doing it this way. The problem
as vanished, not the ladies business shall I precise ;)

Actually, it is even less heavy then before but will not get more ''transparent''.

Concentrate on the ladies and that should not cause any problem,
you can definetly see what as to be see.

Thanks for the advice

Jessy, while I know that your girls are so busy that you don't really need to add to your client base, I can assure you that a good website has proven quite beneficial to other agencies that aren't booked quite as solid as your own.

If you look at my previous post, you'll find one good example. They're getting almost all of my business these days and it's purely based on the quality of the content of their website.

Of course, since they're not as busy as MSC, they do need to have good content.

Hmmm,

I have nothing against pizazz, but did you ever walk through a grocery store with all the color blinding labels and not be able to find your favorite through the kaleidoscope. I like Asservissante's website for the same reasons. Simple, elegant, easy to use.

However, for pizazz I like Devilish's website very much. It's also loud but the colors, font and image combinations work and the photos are extremely attractive. And I find it easy to navigate.

Why? First, the site is uncluttered and their pictures are of good size and first rate. Second, each woman has her own page and prominently featured on the page are not only the pictures but a couple of paragraphs of text written by the woman herself. All nice Rumples, but in the end I have never let a website's appearance or even it's easy use overcome the factors of substance like escort availability, quality, service, reliability. Jessy's right, no matter how you feel about webpage appearance, though it helps, the quality of the agency, owner, and ladies supersedes all.

Cheers,

I for one love Eleganza's website. No bullshit & the pictures are real & reflect pretty much how the girls look. I also don't mind XXXtase's new look. Asservissante's site is also okay, but may be due for some upgrading. Sites I prefer are the ones that are not complicated to surf on.

However, even though i have nothing against Jessy & actually do like her, i've stayed away from her website because it's simply not an attractive one to cause me to want to surf to it. I do hope that she takes the above comments as a form of constructive criticism.

Jessie & Peter, I'm osrry to chime in on this, but I don't like your new websites either. Too flashy, pics are showing larger, but same initial quality which means that they look pixelated (on voit les points des pixels de l'image) and so globally less atractive. The surroundings are also too heavily loaded with distracting stuff. the copyright stuff on it is too much for me too, but I respect your business decision.
I know you're saying focus on the ladies, but ... if I have a less pleasant shopping experience, I may go less often to your store... and buy less. This is probably true for many occasional customers, like me.
I have to say XXXtase's new site look also falls (IMHO) into similar category. At least the pics are very clear.

I am tending to agree with almost everyone on this.
Flashy, gaudy, and overly copy written photos are distracting and not necessary for the information to be presented. The flashy and gaudy parts do get your attention, unfortunately it often works the other way to turn the viewer off instead of on, possibly thinking it acts like a carnival barker saying "LOOK AT ME, LOOK AT ME", but in reality most viewers look away.
The copy written issue could be toned down a bit, at least make sure the printing doesn't artificially enhance or distract from the lady's features. However, I think we all can realize the lady doesn't really have a telephone number imprinted across her lingerie or tattooed on her ass. Well, I suppose there could be a phone number tattoo but it probably isn't the agency's and is a lot smaller.
Simple websites are easy to navigate on my phone, but if there is a secondary scroll, (i.e.- the photos and schedule on MSC's website) I haven't been able to see any more than the first few photos. Asservissante's website has, and WOP's last website had a RSS feature that works very well on my phone.
... I like Asservissante's website for the same reasons. Simple, elegant, easy to use.... but in the end I have never let a website's appearance or even it's easy use overcome the factors of substance like escort availability, quality, service, reliability. Well said, Merlot.
I like Eleganza's website for those same reasons you stated.
I'm certainly not going to boycott any agency, nor am I going to use an agency exclusively for what is on or not on their website.

Sorry hormone, but I don't have any new websites and I'm not part of Satin Dreamz website project neither, just to clarify

Personally, i used to love Venus/Geshia's site even tho many didnt, mainly because of the killer pictures and angles they were shot, I can still picture little Jennifers pics (wow), but as a whole their site was a mess, but those pics! In this biz, thats what matters most to a website, ACCURATE pics, and of course natural is always better than photoshop, that goes w/o saying. Thats why Asservissante and Eleganza sites are two of the best in Montreal. But i think if Jessy has been around this long with her agency that it proves a webstie does not have to be the best, but customer service and reliability do. Same with Peter.

If you wanna see some great sites, check out some in Toronto, like the following that advertise on TERB...All are easy to navigate, not cluttered and have great pics.

Really? I wonder who built Ganza's website........;) Inquiring minds already know.
Yes, CS, really. I have no idea who built it, apparently you do, so feel free to compliment them for me. I like it for the same reasons Merlot said about Asservissante's. It's simple, easy to navigate, and you get a real good idea of what the ladies look like.
...Are you talking about iphone ?
Sorry, Jessy, yes I mean the iPhone. I haven't been able to figure out how to scroll down to see any other than the top four photos, or the schedule. The old SD site was the same way. QOS and Devilish sites didn't work on it either. GOF, Montreal Angles, Angles Escorts, and most others did. I've only had it for two years, perhaps I need lessons. Correction- I do need lessons, however I don't use it for this much anymore.

Before the iphone gets everywhere, there was already a trick on the gallery,
clic, re-clic and again the gallery button witch changes the position of the ladies.

When iphone and ipad got all over the place, I thought :

'' They can't seriously have omitted this feature '' ?

No, they didn't, but it is not as clear
as just touching the screen.

Put 2 fingers inside the window, keep one on the screen, scroll with the other one.

I really like their website too, but now the ladies are divided into ``Escorts`` and ``companions``. companions sounds more upscale although it`s not clear what their distinction is. Now it gives the impression of saying “up here are the classy ones and below are the cheap harlots”. I don’t think it looks good for a group of independents. They already have their own page to explain their individual services and expectations.

Edit: I just noticed that website is now back to the way it was before.
