I'm going to Amsterdam next month and would like to get some recommendation from my Merb friends.
Any independant or very reliable agency you guys will suggest or dealt with recently.

Try the RLD, too

I didn't have any outcalls when I went to AMS. I just visited the RLD (Red Light District). However, here is a great site to do some of your research before visiting AMS:

They have all the info you need to get familiar with AMS. They discuss the RLD, Escorts (outcall) and the Privehuis (brothels), along with the sex clubs, 'Coffee Shops' and just about everything else to help you get started.

I was worried how 'primitive' the RLD 'cabins' would be. No fear, they are modern inside. No toilet for you, but there is a sink to wash off. And the girl has a bidet to freshen up.

Most of the agencies have web sites with pics and descriptions. However, do NOT pass up a visit to the RLD, even just to tour it. It's a great, old part of the city. One of the streets is only 36" wide! And down that street is where some of the best looking girls in the windows are. The majority of the canals and old bridges are in that area. The RLD is good for a quickly with a babe that fits your ideal fantasy. You can see a wide variety of gals in a short time. The Privehuis' are like a club, where can see/talk before deciding. But if you don't like what you see, then you have to head to another one. The RLD is very busy on weekend nights, so check it out during the week day/nights.

all in all, i believe you get a better bang for your buck in mtl. you'll pay the same in amsterdam for 20 minutes. it's an expensive quickie thing when you *come* to think about it. frankfurt's brothels are wayyy cheaper and a looot more fun !

i should have checked these Privehuis though... sounds more relaxed.

There wasn't any doctors paper on the beds when I was there. Just a small, firm bed with a clean sheet (cotton, 200 threads ). Since its a legal business, everything is performed in a 'safe' manner and the girls are tested regularly. However, just like any escort anywhere, some have a better attitude than others. The cost is low ($50) for a 's_ck and f_ck' (it's cute when they say that in a Dutch accent) and you get about 25 mins. You can negotiate costs for more time or services, too.
The best part is the shopping before deciding. Once you see a girl you like, you can go up to her glass door and talk to her a little about her services, before you commit and step inside. There are plenty to choose from, so if she acts like a bitch, just say 'no thanks' and move on. It's a cheap FS quickie with your choice of girl. There are girls from all nationalities, looks and races; they are not all local dutch girls (dutch girls are either blonde or brunette, and no tan, since it's like Seattle there).

The AMS agencies web site's don't always have a good pic of the girl; for privacy reasons even there. So I found window shopping allowed me to find the ideal girl, walk right in and start having fun; no waiting. Agencies prices are more closer to Montreal in costs.

The RLD is in the oldest part of the city. Some of the buildings are from the 1500s and before. The Oude Kerk (old church) is from the 1300s, and right in the RLD. So you get sex and a historical tour at the same time

Yes, it you're able to visit Montreal easily, and would otherwise have to pay to fly to Amsterdam, Montreal is a better deal. That is only because prices are reasonable here and the biz is basically legal. If you compare with ANYWHERE else in the US or other parts of Canada, AMS compares very favorably in cost and services, IMHO.

Hidden videos of Amsterdam RLD

These will give you an idea of the sights of the RLD. You see many views of the girls in the windows, and get an idea of the rooms (cabins). They are all a little different. They show some of the sex clubs, peep shows, 'coffee shops', etc. You see them talking with the girls at their doors, but no inside visits. These show what it looks like strolling down the streets in the RLD. Some clips show going into a 'coffee shop', and the menu items. I didn't notice any pics of the strange public urinals in the RLD. They are large files, but quite educational so you know what to expect walking around there. The video with the peddle-car tour shows a brief visit down that 36" wide street that I mentioned before. There are actually windows(girls) on that street (some of the best looking ones). You have to pull your gut in when passing someone on it.

I went years ago. End of September/beginning of October is about as late as I would go, since it gets ugly and gray in the winter there.

I didn't go to a PrivateHaus, but the RLD was fun.

Yeah, that's the 'Seattle weather' pattern. It's cold, damp and gray in the winter months. But the travel rates (air/hotel) are cheaper, and it's less crowded in the off season. I was on business, went in December, and lucked out on the weather; actually saw the sun and it wasn't raining all the time. We call the rain 'liquid sunshine' in Seattle.

You can get a good idea of the variety of girls by checking out the escort agency web sites. Lots of slender blonde or brunette dutch girls, along with everything else. The RLD probably has a wider selection of nationalities (heritage) than the agencies. There are 'zones' in the RLD; asian, blacks, caucasion, BBW, shemales, etc. The 'cabins' are heated, as the girls are standing around in their underwear most of the time. It doesn't often get bitter cold (and not much snow), but it is a damp cold; they call it 'Venice of the north' because of the many canals.

English is the universal language; the dutch speak english better than the Brits. You can't pronounce most of the street names there, and they are so long they don't fit on a map very well; they are longer than the street itself. You don't want/need a car. The street cars (trams), your two feet and taxis are all you need. Renting a bicycle is helpful to get further out from centrum (centerville/central).

I have lived in AMS for about two years.
I agree with most that was said here in regards to the RLD. Stay away from local talent. Go and find some imports, mainly from Indonesia, Surinam and some Thai. If you lucky you will get some fresh talent "off the boat".

Another piece of advise. AMS is not very safe. Keep your valuables in the hotel, preferably in a safe. Dress down. Don't keep ANYTHING in the car.
Don't walk down alone in any of those small alleys.

Have fun it's worth it.
