I saw that one, but this one appears to be much more balanced: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_presidential_approval_rating#Historical_comparison

It's really quite good. Try the interactive portions of it. Really seems pretty interesting.

The most facinating thing is the outcry for the repeal of the act that was the subject of the thread starter here. Last count was 20 States have filed suit against it in some fashion: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/38588102/ns/health/

Now here's something really historic: If enough states get together, they can pass a CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT AGAINST THIS HISTORIC FEAT OF OBAMA.

Little known fact: Texas can simply and unilaterally cede from the Union..........it's written in their constitution.......Maybe Quebec should have cut the same deal early on??

Funny how subconscious is driving here... Obama is black...and there we have an argument for cessation poping up !
Texas can't simply cede from the Union... Just like for Quebec, there is way too much at stake to just let Texas Cede.

Unless you believe in : Santa, Elvis is alive and the Roswell crash landing.

NEW YORK TIMES
Opinion
If Obama Is a One-Term President
By JULIAN E. ZELIZER
Published: September 10, 2011

I’D rather be a really good one-term president than a mediocre two-term president,” President Obama confessed to ABC News’ Diane Sawyer last year. Other than the “really good” part, Republicans would be happy to see this wish fulfilled.
With waning approval ratings and a stagnant economy, the possibility that Mr. Obama will not be re-elected has entered the political bloodstream. Suddenly, the opposition party envisions a scenario in which its presidential candidate could defeat Mr. Obama in a referendum on his job performance. Mr. Obama needs to think hard about his own statement and consider what it takes to be a successful one-term president, in the light of history.
One-term presidents usually leave office with their parties divided, the economy in crisis, wars unresolved, approval ratings in the tank and a sullen public rejecting them. Becoming a one-term president means joining a gallery of dashed hopes and crushed ambitions. Among those who were elected for just one term were men who, like Mr. Obama, came to the White House with enormous promise............http://www.nytimes.com/2011/09/11/opinion/sunday/if-obama-is-a-one-term-president.html (cut out to save band width, but link to entire article here)

..............In the coming debates over spending cuts, President Obama has to find the fortitude to outline the terms of the debate. He needs to keep his eye on what he did in 2009 and 2010, and not just what will happen in 2012. Otherwise, he risks ending up with the worst of both worlds: a weak one-term record and a loss in 2012.

Additional information not in the article: Obama's average approval ratings are getting dangerously close to bottoming out below Bush & Nixon. The thread was right, he's an historic president. Both he and Carter have won the Nobel Peace Prize. Where's my "Billy Beer"? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_presidential_approval_rating

Notice the spike in DISAPPROVAL vs. APPROVAL. Statisticly significant in showing that breakthrough of the traditional bottom of his base support.: http://webapps.ropercenter.uconn.edu/CFIDE/roper/presidential/webroot/presidential_rating.cfm

The Jobs speech before the Joint Congress was so pathetic that I don't think there's a chance in hell Obama will get re-elected. There were no new ideas from him. He playing from the same playbook that he has for the first 2 3/4 years of his term. His proposal was Stimulus 2.5 or 1/2 of Stimulus 1.

More money for teachers? NEA - Teachers' Union and AFL-CIO
More money for Construction workers? - AFL-CIO
More money for local governments? - AFSCME

It's evident who will get this 450 Billion dollars - his re-election friends.

The tax cuts, such as the payroll tax, Obama proposes are temporary, like 1 year. So why would a business hire someone when they will only get a temporary tax cut.
Obama said nothing about cutting back on regulations. Dodd-Frank and many of the regulations that will take effect in Obama care are stiffling hiring also. Many banks are planning layoffs in the near future because of the regulations. 1/3 of businesses plan to stop offering health benefits because of regulations in the Affordable Care Act passed by Congress and signed by Obama.

His speech was a hack political ploy to say that Republicans are dragging their feet on his proposals, and preventing the recovery. The truth is the regulatory laws passed by Congress during 2009 and 2010 are stiffling hiring.

His ploy will not work. It will backfire because the US voting population is not that stupid, evident by his falling poll numbers. Obama told Congress to pass his bill right away, like 15 times, which is laughable. There is no written legislation that the White House sent to Congress, just a bunch of proposals on a teleprompter that he read off.

He's a 1 termer for sure.

Let's add one more. Increased by a factor of 10 the amount of arms the US exports to over $100 Billion. That may be seen as a positive in some camps. Except for the fact that Obama signed a presidential order allowing U.S. defense contractors to sell arms to African countries that consript 12 year olds into their militaries. He's the first and only president to sign such a presidential order contrary to the law against such transfers passed during the Clinton years. Now, do we add 109 as breaking US Law, or just being a hypocrite or MAYBE BOTH? No, let's not talk about what's morally right ........ Now maybe that's how he won the Peace Prize......He sells arms to even the worst scum so everyone will be so scared of the military capabilities of the other that they figure peace is better??? Mutual Self-Destruction, a Cold War application to the 21st Century.....LOL

Ricky, that is the most subjective crap list I have ever read. Like improved relations with Muslims. Like they don't still want to kill us.

I will tell what he has done - increased the National Debt far than any President and he has created an atmosphere where we will be in permanent recession with Obamacare, the Dodd Frank act and the other regulations his agencies have imposed. You have no idea how bad it will get if this ahole gets re-elected.

Whats funny are people so blinded that they actually continue to think Obama has done anything at all to get the USA back on it's feet financially. Dems claim Obama inherited the debt, ok and if so, then wouldnt a good president make some headway at chipping away at that debt and making the economy better instead of drastically making it worse????? IN almost THREE Years!! How many jobs have been lost and how many have been created since he took over? I would love to know the answer. Just today i heard Bank Of America was gonna lay off some 30,000 ppl. Time for change folks, many believed Obama was the man for the job, yet has horribly failed, Next!
