#3 is just precious. Obama relaxed anti-American tensions around the world? Doesn't this make us all feel good? Maybe in a few years or so Islamo- fascists won't want to kill all of us. Obama was sort of like the Hollywood actors that inexplicably call on Chavez, Castro, Hussein and other mass murders. Maybe one more term and these people won't want to kill us anymore? Poppycock! The only thing these animals in the Middle East understand is superior firepower.
#4 – Closed the torture camps. Is water boarding torture? Do you think for a second that the Islamo- fascists are going to refrain from cutting anyone’s head off if they close Guantanamo? I would of liked to see these camps expanded.
#5 made the focus the environment...In this economy? He should have made the focus the economy. BTW-When mills close and go offshore they pollute without restraint.

But Obama is a nice guy and a better family man than I. He was the "pitcher of record" when we got Osama Bin Laden and he made white liberals feel good when they got to vote for a 1/2 black man. He is just a little over his head that’s all. We need a businessman in the office.

I will give the guy some good credit for handling the Libyan issue most adeptly. Just the right touch with excellent results.

I respect your opinions.. Especially those of you who actually live on american soil.
So tell me.. Is there a better candidate that will be running for election?
Maybe obama just has a better reputation as perceived by outsiders looking in..

Really? Libya is going to become Iran / Afghanistan II. Sharia law abound. Violaters get hung. Is that handling it so adeptly? Excellent results, my foot. I wonder about you sometimes, CS.

Most of the Republican field is better than Obama. There is no perfect candidate. I personally like Perry or Romney, or even Guiliani if he were to run. I like Herman Caine, but he does not have a good background in foreign policy. He would be learning on the job, like Obama has been doing (and failing). Michelle Bachman is also a smart woman, but she does not seem pragmatic.

If you've watched any of the Republican debates, what you come away with is that it was held inside a looney bin. With the exception of Mitt Romney, they are literally a bunch of whackos.

The fact of the matter is that, with the Democratic party having moved significantly to the right and with Obama having rolled over and played dead for the Republicans, there really isn't a significant difference between him and Romney.

The list you posted, Ricky, is mostly accurate, however, he's on the verge of approving the pipeline from the tar sands in Alberta to Texas. This will be the biggest environmental disaster in history. He's also continued the disastrous wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.

However, when you consider the disaster that he inherited, it's remarkable that the country is still functioning.

You are in fantasy land both in the baseball thread and in politics. Obama is a far left socialist. Got news for you Rumps, Obama going to lose like your Red Sox are goin to lose. Both stink.

rumps,

It's significant to me that you and others are forced into defending Obama's record now, rather than attempting to advance any of his current ideas or programs. This mirrors the defenisve posture of both the New York Times (Obama's own personal cheering section and propaganda outlet) and that of the DNC.

The mood of the public with respect to Obama can be clearly seen based upon the initial polls in the Weiner & Ensign Special Elections. The New York matchup is particually interesting in a populus that went 54-44 for Obama in the last Presidential Election. Again with the New York Times leading the way: http://fivethirtyeight.blogs.nytime...tes-in-new-york-and-nevada-special-elections/

I'm sure I could debunk most of Ricky bonds 90+ points, but why bother when Obama's case appears so weak to the public. What was it that Slick Willie used to say, Oh yes, "It's the economy stupid!!!".

CS, where do you see me defending Obama? I think he's been an incredible disappointment in letting the Republicans thwart every slight attempt he's tried to make at righting the economy. Had he shown the slightest bit of balls in resisting the Republican mission of derailing his presidency, the current mess might not be as bad as it is.

Really Rumps? Your proganda is amazing. He let the Republicans thwart every attempt he's tried (???) to make at righting the economy. What planet do you live on? :noidea: Earth to Rumps - the Democrats were in control of both Houses from the beginning of 2009 to the end of 2010.

It's Obama's mess, no one else's. The truth Rumps, your hero Obama is incompetent. He wouldn't know what to do to get companies to hire. He's on permanent vacation and campaign mode.

Rumps,

Check with Nancy Pelosi. She and Rob Emmanuel took receipt of Obama's balls shortly after his election. I hear she's promissing to give at least one back on his exit from the White House. Mrs. Obama gets the other.

Yup, he buys into those DNC talking points without any questions or self thought.
- the Democrats were in control of both Houses from the beginning of 2009 to the end of 2010.
Wait, didn't they and Nancy Pelosi use all that time passing and promoting their socialist agenda?
It's Obama's mess, no one else's
Nope, Bush & Clinton get a large share of the blame here also. I actually like Clinton, but he and Hillary made some tactical errors.
The truth Rumps, your hero Obama is incompetent.
Nope, not totally. He lacks management skills and wisdom. Good at talking and reading prompter. They tell me he can play basketball though. The real question is "can he palm the ball?
He wouldn't know what to do to get companies to hire.
This is apparent based upon multiple corporate leaders comments in the last year. They’ve almost universally given up on the man
He's on permanent vacation and campaign mode.
I believe the term is unannounced lame duck presidency. The man is just waiting out his time. This is evident based upon his speech to the Joint Session of Congress last week.

Here's a question for Rumps....Are you going to delete this thread or leave it up to record the womping that Obama will get in the National Election??.....LOL

You really ought to learn just a tiny, eensy, little bit about the way your government operates. You do not control the Senate unless you have 60 seats. The Democrats never had control of the Senate; the Republicans managed to filibuster everything Obama tried to do to fix the mess Bush created, but, again, were thwarted by the Republicans who were more interested in defeating him in 2012 than in fixing the country. Not only that, they never even tried to hide this.

Huh, Rumps? How did Obamacare sneak thru? The Republicans were not able to fillibuster every legislation. Obamacare, Dodd-Frank, Stimulus 1 (gee where are all of the jobs from that $800 billion spent) were 3 of the bills that passed during 2009-10 that are hurting the economy at the moment. Plus, the Democrats never proposed or wrote a budget for 2010. The Republicans did in 2010 after they got control. What's you talking about fillibuster, Rumps?

Tell me Rumps, what would have Obama did to get us "out of the mess" that you say Bush created?

Really, you're wrong for pinning the blame on Bush. It was actually something Jimmy Carter passed and Janet Reno and Andrew Cuomo enforced that was the cause of the mess. CS knows what I am talking about. The Community Redevelopment Act. This fiasco also involved Franklin Raines, Christopher Dodd, Barney Franks, Franklin Raines and Rahm Emanuel, the current czar, I mean mayor of Chicago.

So don't lecture me, Rumps, in your condescending way. I know exactly how the government works. I also know exactly what passed and the problems associated with the legislation.

I stand correct in saying if Obama were such a "Historical President" like the title of this thread suggests, or the savior like he was praised to be 3 yrs ago, then why has he not helped the economy at all, or even held it as status quo? Instead, we ALL have watched it become horribly worse. And the economy is just one thing that he has done nothing but hurt. The thread title may end up coming true, but not in a positive way.

(Dont be surprised to see this thread all the sudden deleted. I think we all know why.
Mods. if this thread is deleted by the thread starter, can you please restore as there are very good debates throughout, ty)

CS, you're not misinformed. Rumps wouldn't know where to begin, because he doesn't know where to begin in any event.

Iggy, if Rumps deletes this thread, it would be like the little boy who takes his baseball (the only baseball left) home because his team (the little Red Sox) wasn't winning. Remember, that little kid. Every neighborhood had one.

I did not know that, but it is good to hear. The only reason i even mentioned it is because the same thread starter attempted to delete the whole 2011 baseball thread when people did not agree with his views, but Mod 8 restored it for the sake of the others who enjoy the thread, just did not wanna see the same thing happen in here just because some dont have the same views, thats what a debate is all about and it does not have to escalate to personal insults or hitting the majic button to make it all go away, thats the wrong way to do things. Sorry, but it was not crap stirring at all, just the simple truth based on the past, HUGE difference.

You guys have had this thread to yourselves??? How am i part of you guys? I just posted for the first time in a long time and because i have views and opinions about this subject i am all the sudden baiting someone? This is the reason others do not post much, because you chase them away. I have as much right to post how i feel about Obama as you or anyone else and just because i decide to do so does not mean i am baiting anyone.

This is just silly crap-stirring posturing. Anyone who has been around here knows the mods won't let anything with extensive participation be deleted. Closed, yes if people get out of line.

You guys have had this thread to yourselves....

Cheer,

Merlot
