its great the vaccine exist for the peoples that need/want it. The problem i have, and many like me does, is that they are trying to force it hardcore on everyone no matter if they want it or not, creating segregation and discrimination against us.
Point well taken and to a certain point not completely false.

Please, a hypothetical question, out of curiosity...

Let's say one of your kinfolk, Mom or Dad as example, is in a residence and sadly only have a few days left and ask for you, for one last loving look at their son.

Unfortunately other residents, for different reasons, are considered to be highly at risk and the only way to be allowed in is, you guessed it, by accepting the vaccine.

What would you do ... accept or refuse?

Union Nationale was a dominant party in the old years, it was Duplessis party, but it does not exist anymore. Maybe your list only

There is a difference between being ANTI and just prefering not to do it. I am not anti-weed. I always said weed should be legal long before it became. Yet im not a smoker.

I will repeat myself but i said many times its great the vaccine exist for the peoples that need/want it. The problem i have, and many like me does, is that they are trying to force it hardcore on everyone no matter if they want it or not, creating segregation and discrimination against us.
Do your search, you are right about the old Union Nationale party.
But there is a new party with the same name in Province Of Quebec.

One of my nephew is un-vaccinated.
His mother as been in hospital recently in bad shape and is now in a facility that require visitors to be vaccinated.
If it turn for the worst with her health, I am not sure he will be allowed to see her.
Sad situation by his own fault.

If my mother would had been in a residence, i would had removed her from there a long time ago and took care of her at home. The condition of the peoples in these residence is awfull at the moment. I know very well cause it happen that well...you guess it, my mother work there. She said there is NO WAY in hell she want to end up there. And i told her ill take care of her at home when needed. Wich should not be anytime soon, as she ain't even retired yet.

In any case, hypothetically in your scenario, one vaccine is not enough, there is no way i could get 2 or 3 doses in time so its a non applicable situation. Knowing myself i would probably just make my way to her and see her anyway, and there is nobody that could stop me. The time the cops arrive, i would had seen her already and i rather be arrested and spend a few days in jail/get a ticket than get vaccinated. Once there was a fire in a building i was living in. It was at the neighbor next door. We were very lucky that only his appartement burned (good firewall between) and we only had smoke and some water leak (very minimal). Anyway not the point. But we got out very fast as you guess it, but once out i was like "shit, the cat !". Of course if he stayed there, he would had died from the smoke. Fireman didn't wanted to let me back in. Not a small guy himself. Told him you let me in bro or ill go over you. He took a step aside. Got in, found the cat in the closet, got out.

Anyway, the simple facts we have these conversation prove how it suck. The good news is peoples may finally waking up recently. Lots of folks are against this vax tax BS and there is a lot of talks how illegal it may be. Also a lot of peoples are saying no to a 3rd dose despite taking 2. Im crossing finger the CAQ tank and we end up with a minority governement next election. I think they starting to loose some ground. Not enough yet but some peoples are fed up with them.

I wonder how many people in this thread would be in favour of any of the below measures against unvaxed…

Having their children remove.
Being placed in detention camps.
Being evicted if they’re renting.
Being banned from leaving their homes.

They are already doing all that in China and probably N.K.
True fact..... More than 25% of Canadians support throwing the un-vaccinated into jail. I bet that figure is even higher in Europe.

More than one in four Canadians support jail time for the unvaccinated, poll finds (msn.com)
He is asking how many people would be in favor of measures like that. He is not comparing the measures to the Holocaust. The Holocaust was not an overnight thing. It was the result a build up of hatred toward a specific group. We can also observe a similar build up toward the group "Unvaccinated". Now I do not believe it will ever end up that bad (hard to top the Holocaust in evilness), but the situation is getting really bad in terms of polarization. The Vaccine has become a political tool, and a weapon in the hands of politicians. It was only possible because of supporters for these measures. The violations to our rights are done gradually, so that each new one is digested, accepted, and then they move to the next. This way they keep the support of this group by "understanding" why the violations are being done, and believe they will be temporary, like the ruling by decree that Legault gave himself. While he keeps people focused on COVID, and deepens the divisions among the people, he goes on changing rules and regulations in whatever he sees fit, unchecked and uncontrolled. Is it possible that he reduced our health care system on purpose so that we get such a terrible situation, where he can harvest that fear to his advantage? Is he planning on becoming a Quebecois Putin?

The fact this is true is very scary. How politicians and the media have successfully brainwashed people. If you keep on repeating the same message multiple times daily, people will begin to believe it.

You part of this group HM?

All this talk about not respecting the rules set in place. This group is putting vulnerable people in harms way.
And like you. They don’t believe in the greater good

Im not in Montreal, you should know by now since you know me so well ;)

That said, they basically shit on this group because they give free meals without masks....outside? Huh... ? OUTSIDE? Oh well... Why am i even surprise at this point. Ultimately if these peoples give free meal, its a good thing. If the peoples going to get them fear Covid, nothing force them to go get said meals.

No, it's too inhuman.

On the other hand, I would charge the hospitalization costs to the non-vaccinated. It's very expensive.

Yeah and charge hospitalization to the peoples having lung cancer if they smoked too. Or how about the morbid obese with heart issues. Alcoolics with liver failures too. Oh while at it, if you had a ski accident and broke your leg, charge them too, you decided to go ski, its your decision that got you injured. ;)

I agree and it is pretty simple. Once you start taxing hospitalization costs against the unvaccinated, then consistent with equal protection under the law, you would also have to tax the vaccinated who incur the same hospitalization costs. This will likely produce many lawsuits and get shot down in the Courts very quickly. It would not be attempted in the USA because of the 14th amendment equal protection clause. However common law rationales may be found as well, under state and federal common law in the USA and possibly Canada. You cannot discriminate in imposing healthcare costs.

Legault has the habit of using the Notwithstanding Clause to pass laws that violate the charters of rights, in Quebec this law will go through. Does not sound like there is a Notwithstanding Clause in the USA? Another good thing about US politics is a president can only run two terms. In Canada it can go on for ten terms or more.

If every other parties go against it , i don't think he will. Also have to remember that his mandate may end in October. I am sure that a lot of peoples are against this and this could make him loose votes. I don't believe CAQ won't be reelected cause honestly no opposition is strong enough at the moment to do it. Quebec Party is on its last leg, Liberals have very little support in french speaking peoples, Quebec Solidaire is too extreme left and believe in Unicorns (figuratively speaking) with non sense propositions, and Conservative altough rising is too marginalized by some peoples. Im hoping we get at least Eric elected but i dount we will get much seats.

But what we can hope is at least Legault is not majority. That would help.

I think even his precious public health guys are not in favor of his vax tax. I really hope this is just bluff and don't go trough, That said, if it does pass, i have no money to pay this. Like litteraly. He said 100$ wouldn't be it. Ammounts advanced were 1000-1500$. I make about 500$ per month in good months. So there is no way logically i could shred that ammount. So beside the more healthy financially i don't see how could this pass. Taxes always been in term of revenues. If you don't make enough during a year, you get a huge tax return of what you paid. So would make no sense trying to tax the poor.

Every BJJ/MMA gym in MTL just sent emails saying they're closed for the foreseeable future. All open mat times are closed also, so no private lessons unless they don't care about being fined. I go to 3 different gyms and they all sent the same email 2 days ago.
Just got emails saying they might be reopening MMA gyms in a couple weeks. Haven't seen anything yet in the news, I wonder where they get this information from

I know restaurants can re-open for indoor dining as of tonight. Does anyone have a sense of how much longer it will be before the bars can open?
