Ahhh...it's an interesting article. Frankly, I am considering getting the booster for Omicron (ie. 3rd shot). I already reserved a slot for next month, just in case.
But I'm also weary and would prefer to wait it out as much as possible such that the kinks are worked out. I think it's Moderna that's mainly available right now, but would prefer Pfizer if possible. That's what I had for my first two shots.
Dunno...anybody else considering getting their 3rd shot?

According to Dubé's conference at 13h00 : There were 12,833 new cases announced. So far no additional restrictions. He said as of 4th January, everyone will be admissible to get a 3rd dose. He also said health care workers infected with covid will still work under certain conditions.

For sure, Jan 8th 3rd shot scheduled. Can’t wait. I’m not over 60, but I take care of my elderly mom in law. So I get the derogation.
Didn't need much consideration got mine the first chance I had.
Can only hope with Omicron that if I still end up getting it which seems to be very likely it won’t be too serious.
This new variant makes vaccine passports completely useless and half assed curfews to certain hours makes no sense as the virus can spread just as easily during daytime as night.
Best bet is to get the vaccines and basically hope for the best, wear a mask, keep your distance where you can and go on living your life, I will not lock myself away anymore, fuck it 2 years was enough of this shit.

This may have been true NoV 2020 to Aug 2021 but with Omicron your chances of being effected and spreading it are narrowing to the point where passports make no sense, vaccination does because you will still be much more protected from getting seriously sick or hospitalized but even that gap is closing everyday now it is something like x13 times as likely and a couple of months ago it was x25.
A CDC doctor was quoting this today. She was using it as background for their decision, so I'll leave it to you to agree if it makes sense
They were explaining the new CDC guidelines that indicate vaccinated to be less risk of transmission and they reflect this in their guidelines updated this week. They specifically reference Omicron as part of their reasoning
A vaccinated person "exposed" does not need to quarantine. A non vaccinated does. If this is accurate it actually amplifies the need for passport.
Once again, the x13 vs x25 is very age group dependant and will shift as older age groups continue to be a higher % of infected. (as per Quebec government)

I look at daily statistics published by the Government of Quebec and the gap of getting infected by vaccinated or non vaccinated has narrowed to the point where to me I repeat the vaccine passports are useless.
This is total BS by the way that a vaccinated person does not need to quarantine.
Read between the lines and see the actual panic.
They have now lowered the quarantine period to 5 days and actually allowing infected nurses/doctors to keep on working in hot areas.
They simply do not have the personnel to give care to all the sick so now they are risk managing as best they can.
I do not believe that being vaccinated is really nearly as good with Omicron for being able to evade the virus as it was before. There was always the case that the elderly were more susceptible that has not changed. The old and weak and sick are more likely to die from a common cold also.
I agree and I am simply relaying that they (the CDC) believe the vaccinated to be less likely to transmit than the non vaccinated.
Enough to justify the burden of the passport system ?
I personally prefer other methods to reflect the burden the unvaccinated place on the system.
The CDC also stated that if you are not sick you do not need to wear a mask, so perhaps the CDC and Dr Fauci are perhaps not all they are cracked up to be.
They then went on to say that they didn’t want to cause a panic and a run on masks so that it would be kept for health care workers.
So lying to the public I guess is ok according to them and they are in the best position to determine when the occasional lie is totally to our benefit lol.
Well Papa Lego has grounded all his kids for being bad kids. Curfew to be in effect as of tomorrow it will be from 10pm to 5am. The timings are better, it does not impact me that much. Last year at 8pm was ridiculous. This was strategic, Lego wanted to bust on New Year Eve parties. Only in Quebec in all of North America this is happening, Papa Lego is being a good papa.

Looks like my Fake News wasn't so fake after all. It was only 10 days later than predicted. The basic principle turned out to be true. No New Year's celebration for us. If we are lucky the "3-week Curfew" may be lifted in late spring like last time.Fake News
