More heat is on the way for the U.S. this weekend with more than 85 million Americans now under heat alerts, amid an ongoing heat wave. Temperatures and heat indices are expected to surge into the 100s from coast-to-coast.

Heat index values Saturday afternoon are in the triple digits across much of the Midwest into the South with temperatures feeling like the upper 90s to near 100 degrees along parts of the East Coast. In parts of the West, a drier heat, with hot, but close to seasonable temperatures, from the desert in the Southwest into California's Central Valley.

In the West, temperatures are expected to soar up to 115 degrees.

The fires in Mariposa County, California, jettisoned overnight and burned more than 5,000 acres in roughly 12 hours. Dry conditions and breezy winds will continue to add fuel to the wildfires, helping them grow, officials say.

Exceptional Drought conditions are in place across more than 90% of Mariposa County, including where the Oak Fire is burning.
The relentless drought conditions are a major factor with this fire, providing ample dry fuel and brush in the region.
This is the third wildfire to burn in the county over the past two weeks.

Ben non, NO climate change.

I hear no one talking about this, these are the kinds of people that should be sent to jail. These ecoterrorists are a bunch of idiots. They call themselves the Tyre Extinguishers. Because they were not satisfied with response of the politicians on climate change policy, they decided to slash the tires of 6,500 SUVs (because they are gas guzzlers) since March in Austria, Canada, France, Germany, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Sweden, the UK and the US. They committed vandalism of peaceful citizens SUVs that did nothing wrong because of ecoterrorists misguided by climate change alarmists from far-left beliefs.

I agree with everything you wrote EXCEPT for the last five words. Climate change is real and has nothing to do with "alarmists from far-left beliefs". It would be nice if the right wing took its collective head out of the sand and stopped denying basic truths such as climate change, COVID, January 6th, and all the other things it denies and hides from.

As I said though, I agree with the rest of your post. These climate activists ARE going too far, ARE hurting innocent people and ARE breaking the law.

You are confusing climate change with climate alarmism. The two are different things, the former being real the latter being motivated by fiction. Climate alarmism is when politicians/the media (being pushed by far-left politicians and media) take climate change and make it sound much worse then it really is like doom and gloom apocalyptic scenario. They do it to push their agenda like a carbon tax. This is the hoax, this is nothing but a revenue generating scheme. It does absolutely nothing to reduce carbon emissions, but it makes the government lots of money. With so much inflation right now, a carbon tax is the last thing people need, it is a slap on the face. Ultimately the poor will be the most impacted. These eco-terrorists are driven by the same false climate alarmist scenario. If politicians really cared about climate change and to implement actual practical solutions then they should build more nuclear and geothermal power.

Stratospheric Aerosol Injection can be used to induce global cooling. But there is little will by politicians because this does not make them money.

The reality is none of the carbon reduction targets were meet. If you check the government of Canada website, emissions remained the same except in 2020 when it took a big drop due to covid lockdowns. It is all show just to show to the world they are doing something, nothing but a charade.

On March 11, 2011, an earthquake cut power to the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant, and a tsunami wiped out emergency generators.
Three reactor cores exploded, releasing the highest amount of radioactivity in the environment since the Chernobyl nuclear disaster.
Although cleanup in Fukushima has been in progress for ten years, many years remain before all the melted fuel debris will be removed from the damaged reactors.
Watch to see what the nuclear power plant looks like today, and how the disaster has impacted the surrounding community.

The technology cannot improve and possibly be safer when no other alternatives are available ?

It's a technology that has no solution for the disposal of toxic waste cannot be sustainable.

Nuclear energy is the most dangerous, and moreover several countries have decided to reduce its use.

and people that can't do proper cost/benefit of various alternatives, ignoring ways to mitigate risks turn to fossil fuels.
