Maybe in your small circle but most are having anxiety and hopelessness due to government policies that made everything so much more expensive. Most are concerned with how they will pay their mortgage and buy food. The homelessness in Canada rose by 46% since 2018. Carbon taxes is putting fuel in fire.

This does not make any sense, why charge taxes in the first place only to return it? I seriously doubt this is true, I have seen my taxes increase and the price of food increase since Trudeau's carbon tax while MPs give themselves big pay hikes. No matter how you justify it, the carbon tax is a sham. Instead of a carbon tax, why not give tax breaks to households and businesses that take measures to reduce their carbon footprint? And I mean an actual tax cut like income tax reduction and commercial tax reduction for businesses? Not subsidies. Of course not because the government cannot curb its spending, politicians are living like kings. Since the early 20th century, government spending has exploded. For most ordinary folks and even businesses, when the money runs out you slow down your spending. Government instead increases their spending and adds more taxes and they got to find new ways to justify and scam people to collect more revenue, enter the climate change hoax to add more taxes.

Again, the purpose of the carbon tax is to provide an incentive to energy producers and consumers to reduce energy use and move to low-carbon fuels and renewable energy sources. It's not a "sham". And, for the umpteenth time, climate change is not "a hoax to raise taxes". That's an outrageous and absurd assertion.

BTW tax breaks for reducing your carbon footprint exist in the US already. Utilities get tax breaks by generating electricity from wind or solar farms. Households get tax breaks for solar panels and EVs. I suspect Canada does some of the same things.

I would bet big money that those overly stressed about climate change are leftwing supporters who glue themselves to the medias. Eco-anxiety is an induced fear of something that is assumed, economic anxiety is a known fear as it is happening now.

Well certainly people who are uninformed or deniers wouldn't be anxious about the climate emergency. Duh. Actually many who suffer from eco-anxiety are Gen Z'ers who will have to deal with the consequences of a warming planet when most of us are dust in the wind.

In Canada they are not tax breaks, these are subsidies which is a scam because they simply redistribute the wealth. They take someone else's earnings to give it to someone else that follow's the latest government narrative. There is no true income tax cut. Even getting an EV they simply give a subsidy, what they should do instead is cut someones income taxes for someone who owns an EV.

The purpose of the carbon tax is for the government to collect more revenue to fund their out of control spending spree. And they way the government is actively increasing the population by offering cash incentives (again they are trying to expand their taxbase to collect more revenue to fund their out of control spending spree), more people means more energy consumption no matter what. And for the umpteenth time, I never said climate change is not real, what I said many times is the government is scamming people and creating alarmism just to be able to add more taxes and restrictions.

Sure, while people are struggling to put food on the plate and pay for their mortgage, adding more taxes like the carbon tax to make things cost even more sure is caring for the planet.
