I read that on tvanouvelles.ca

President Donald Trump discussed the possibility of hosting the G7 summit in June at Camp David on Wednesday, not by videoconference as decided because of the coronavirus.

With Trump you never know.

Are there eels under the rock?

Not sure if you guys do this, but I have been wiping down my groceries with Clorox wipes since the beginning of this pandemic and I’m glad that I may not need to do it going forward:

I have been wiping down my groceries with Clorox wipes as well. The problem is you don't know if a dude carrying the virus picked up that item immediately before you and right after picking his nose. If so and you pick up the item wipe it down or yikes.

On another note I had a scary bike ride yesterday on the beach road near where I live. There was a dude walking in the road ahead of me. His back was to me, and I didn't see that he was smoking a cigarette. As I went to pass him he suddenly exhaled a huge burst of smoke which I directly inhaled. If he is a carrier I am likely fucked/infected. It wasn't intentional on his part it was just the timing of my pass coupled with him exhaling to his left. So I caught that gust of smoke right in my face and nose and lungs.

EB msn listed a bunch of American cities where COVID is on the rise and new haven was listed. From what I remember the few times I visited Yale the surrounding area was quite dodgy

If by Yale you mean the University, it is located in downtown New Haven and is the heart (along with the Hospital and its health network) that drives the economy of the entire city and in fact the entire New Haven County area. New Haven is also known for its pizza, which is in its own genre ("New Haven style pizza") and the best in the United States and maybe the world.

As to whether the Yale "surrounding area" is dodgy, you are talking about a large swath of real estate that is many many square miles as the campus is spread out throughout the downtown. The northern and western sides of the campus does have some adjacent neighborhoods that are "dodgy"; south and east of campus is an area mostly commercial and lined with restaurants, bars, and quite a few medical offices.

The hardest hit area of Connecticut is Fairfield County, which is the southwest part of the state closest to NYC. However, I read today that net hospitalizations for Covid in Connecticut have declined for 28 straight days, although there was a spike in deaths yesterday. The State reopened today, although from my own personal observations, many companies are advising their employees to continue to work from home.

Blood type influences how you react to the virus.....I wonder if the percent of Neanderthal genes you carry also has an effect.

The cigarette smoke was mixed with his breath- the smoke did not come from the lit cigarette, it was a huge exhale, meaning a carbon dioxide, breath and smoke mixture. I caught it in my face as I put on a burst of speed and passed him with my bike.

A columnist in the NY Post (strongly) suggests that we end the lockdown now. I don't completely agree with him, but I do think states and cities need to move further and faster towards reopening the economy and returning to normal life. I think the same goes for Montreal and the rest of Canada.

End New York City’s lockdown now!
By David Marcus
May 20, 2020 | 6:59pm |

Sometimes, a good rant is all a writer can offer. Bear with me.

Last Friday morning, some 3,500 New Yorkers lined up at a Catholic church in Queens to receive free food hours before it even opened, according to the New York Police Department. Catholic Charities has reported a 200 percent increase in demand over the past month and a half.

By prolonging the coronavirus shutdown long after its core mission was accomplished, Gov. Cuomo and Mayor de Blasio have plunged tens of thousands of New Yorkers into poverty.

It needs to end. Now.

In mid-March, we were told we have to endure a lockdown to ensure that hospitals didn’t get overrun. We did. The hospitals were not overwhelmed. We turned the Javits Center into a hospital. We didn’t need it. We brought in a giant Navy ship to treat New Yorkers. We didn’t need it.

We were told we were moments away from running out of ventilators. We weren’t, and now the United States has built so many, we are giving them away to other countries.

Meanwhile, the Big Apple is dying. Its streets are empty. The bars and jazz clubs, restaurants and coffeehouses sit barren. Beloved haunts, storied rooms, perfect-slice joints are shuttered, many for good. The sweat equity of countless small-business owners is evaporating. Instead of getting people back to work providing for their families, our mayor talks about a fantasyland New Deal for the post-coronavirus era.

Open the city. All of it. Right now. Broadway shows, beaches, Yankees games, the schools, the top of the freakin’ Empire State building. Everything. New Yorkers have already learned to socially distance. Businesses can adjust. The elderly and infirm can continue to be isolated...

Is it better to wear a mask if you have seasonal allergies with running nose and sneezing?

Haha Nounours yes I guess so...

I have this dilemma as this time of the year I have pollen allergies. I sometime can sneeze 10 times in a row. Imagine if it happens at the grocery store... In the US someone would shoot me!

The Connecticut Casinos are reopening June 1, despite dire concerns by the State of Connecticut and the Governor stating that he will publicly discourage citizens to refrain from going to the Casinos. In case you are wondering why Governor Lamont can't order them to remain shut down, he can't. He has no jurisdiction to do so as they are both considered sovereign nations within the State of Connecticut. They are on the lands of federally recognized Native Americans and as such are tribal nations. More on this developing controversy here:

That is, Jalimon, assuming they would let you enter into the grocery store in the first place, perhaps a sniper would be watching at the entrance door hehe.
