The infection rate is dipping in China, but just slightly. Lets hope this is the beginning of the end.
What idiots!!! I'm sure the girl from Iran didn't transmit the virus to any passengers on the plane, as she sneezed, snotted, and loogied her way during the 10+ hour flight/flights from Iran, and while she was being rushed to the hospital. Don't you get the news in Canada. Iran has the highest rate of transmission, in the world, outside of China. HELLO!! The time has passed to be a bunch of Woke Snowflakes and start banning assholes from these Countries. They may try to fly through 3rd countries, but at least make it harder for these assholes, who know they are sick and still insist on flying. Even Trump figured that out when he banned flights from China weeks ago. The obvious goal is to limit the worldwide transmission of this virus until we can come up with a vaccine. By all accounts we're looking at over a year. With smart containment and the coming summer months we could limit the worldwide spread until said vaccine is available.
Not taking this lightly ( OK I am ), but I think I have a better chance of winning a lottery than getting the virus let alone die from it. Do a number crunch percentage wise, odds are slim.
You are probably right, but they do not want to take any chances. The Spanish Flu of 1918 was a terrible pandemic. It is even suspected that it was going on during WWI but no one was aware because of the limited knowledge at the time and the censorship during the war.

You maybe right as of today.... but if the world wide cases outside of China keep doubling every 2 to 3 days then watch out. Remember the story of the grain of rice and the chess board.
I`ll say it again. We are in a pandemic but the world still doesn`t realize it.
This is a new virous and we don`t know very much about it.....except that it spreads easily and is far deadlier, in a portion of the population, than the common cold or even the common flu.
If this virus was designed to decimate a certain population …..then it couldn`t do a better job of killing the old and sick ,while sparing kids and young healthy adults. Social security and retirement pensions will be saved.

They don`t learn because they took the same tactic during the downing of the Ukrainian civilian airline.
Now 10% of their parliament is infected and they are 3rd or 4th in the number of deaths reported. They account for most of the recent cases in Canada as well as most of the cases among their neighbours.

Medical experts are stating that 4 to 7 out of 10 persons around the globe will be infected by the coronavirus by the end of this year. Many of them will either be asymptomatic or show mild symptoms. And this is the big problem since most of them won't bother getting tested or raise red flags and they'll continue spreading the virus not even knowing they have it.
As of today we know that 2% of those affected end up dying from the virus. 2% might not seem this big but it's huge when you consider that up to a billion people around the globe will end up being infected.
