I wonder if the new Covid-19 was created as a bio-warfare weapon. Maybe we are living a James Bond or Mission Impossible movie.

If someone in the US cannot afford health insurance the government will provide it, it's called medicaid. The 27 million Americans you mention can have FREE healthcare if they cannot afford it. All they have to do is visit their state's website.

Which they will use if they get a broken leg. Fear of cost, which statistical data shows, that they won't go for signs of flu until maybe too late...

That's incorrect. As I have mentioned, medical insurance will be provided FREE of charge if a person cannot afford it. So there is no "fear of cost" because it is FREE. Medicaid not only covers a "broken leg" but regular check ups, Free medications, Free dental, eye exams, surgeries, etc.

People not going to seek medical care until it's too late definitely happens. But your two points have nothing to do with one another.

Also, there is no cure or vaccine for the Coronavirus so what good will it do anyone if people leave their homes with a fever and cough when they think they are infected?

Are people who are not dirt poor eligible for Medicaid? If not, as the majority of Americans live paycheck to paycheck, aren't medical fees prohibitive for anybody lacking insurance?

You got it right Anon... Unfortunately. What greatwalloo write is correct. But then there is the reality. Stats shows a vast amount of americans will avoid going to hospital at all cost. Also many millions who avoid because they do not have valid immigration papers... That is another story. I am not making judgement. Just stating facts.

Excellent question. Medicaid is for the dirt poor. I believe your income needs to be less than 16k a year to qualify. For the rest, it depends on what your income that will determine how much if anything your medical insurance will cost. A person would go to their states website and input their income. It then calculates what discounts you will get and it lets you choose your medical coverage. The less you earn, the more the state kicks in for your coverage.

It’s not a perfect system, but medical insurance is available to everyone.

Medicaid is NOT just for the “dirt poor.” I have seen firsthand what kind of people get qualified for Medicaid and they made A LOT more than what you think would make them unqualified. Jalimon, you’re wrong on this one buddy. There’s a reason why there’s such a long waitlist to get surgeries and to see specialists in Canada when you’re using the public insurance..rationing of healthcare.

On a side note, I don’t know how many people are actually aware that the U.S. basically subsidizes drug research for the rest of the world. In almost every other country they place artificial price limits on medications forcing the drug companies to charge higher prices in the U.S. only. This in turn is what funds R&D into new medications which the rest of the world benefits from.

People avoiding the hospital isn’t only because of the cost. People fear getting bad news, or the general hope that health issues will resolve themselves. What’s an issue is people not going for their yearly check ups which can prevent a hospital stay in the future. An example would be finding out your a diabetic during a check up. You will get you the meds prescribed to you to keep it under control. Something you wouldn’t even know you had if you didn’t get yearly check ups and would eventually end up in the hospital.

Illegal immigrants not being able to get insurance is correct. Obamacare specifically excluded illegal immigrants.

These are the real facts.

And your statistics are from countries with substandard medical care and an abundance of bad lungs due to pollution.

.

Which countries are you referring to where there is substandard medical care exactly?

Patron,
i agree that you shouldn’t extrapolate data from a country that isn’t transparent about a pandemic in evolution. But not because of any of the reasons you cite. China is just doin a major disservice by not letting WHO and other agencies into the front lines in wuhan to gather info.

have you ever set foot in a medical facility in China??

wuhans a shit show not because of substandard medical care and facilities, the whole medical infrastructure was being overburdened by the rapid spread of virus. Like I said before, if that shit hit anywhere in western world it would be similar situation

even more conducive to the transmission of the virus is the fact that it’s a NOVEL virus, without a vaccine, without antivirals like oseltamivir, and most importantly, without any fucking knowledge about it??

soooo not trying to alarm people and def my heart goes out to anyone whose lost a loved one to the flu and not trying to trivialize any death caused by influenza
