Medical experts are stating that 4 to 7 out of 10 persons around the globe will be infected by the coronavirus by the end of this year.

Who are those experts?

As of today we know that 2% of those affected end up dying from the virus.

As has been pointed out a few times in this thread, we don't know (and can't possibly know) that. No one knows what is really going on in China, so the number of infected people is unknown. Not to mention the number of people who have been infected but not tested.

Patron - Like you, I loathe the media. The 24 hour news cycle is probably one of the worst things that has happened in the new millennia. Why aren’t there more mass shooters that go out and shoot up these 24 hour news studios? Too strong? Let’s just say I hate the media. Reading the news this morning, looks like full panic mode has set in for many. Large lineups at grocery stores and shelves gett8ng empty. Probably the same people who believe a carbon tax will alter the climate or who voted for Trudeau.

The San Jose Sharks said Thursday they were proceeding with a scheduled game that evening against the Minnesota Wild, despite a recommendation from Santa Clara County that a large event of that nature be canceled or postponed to slow the spread of coronavirus.

Come spring if the virus hasn’t subsided by then we will get a better idea of what we are dealing with
But most here are spouting numbers ( mostly from China ) that are either fabricated or unreliable.
In the meantime not much we can do really . Just need to keep calm and once in a while do some hand washing as that surely helps . Oh yea and maybe buy some gold too :/

There is also no cure for the common cold. Licking couches is not really my thing (I was very fond of a sectional I once had). I intend to visit Montreal and in a 2 months and I intend to see escorts God willing. I will not give in to mass hysteria. If I become symptomatic I will cancel and get some Luden's Cherry flavored cough drops and stay home.

Maybe this virus will inspire the Chinese to mandate that all public facilities with a sink and soap and running water so that Chinese people can wash their hands? And when you use the restroom on the train from Guangzhou to Hong Kong and you flush what the Chinese would describe as a toilet, it is not a trap door that dumps the wast on the tracks!!! Those people need hygiene and not more dust masks!
