i dont think you can say the death rate is 3.4%. 3660 people have died of those who have tested positive. This does not take into consideration all those thar are positive but have not been tested. The actual mortality rate is probably an order of magnitutde lower, and amongst healthy individuals, another order of magnitude less.

those are the numbers and a specialiste said a perfectly healthy 25 yr old which is 1 in 25 will die from this,and a aquaintacne i had the misfortune to visit yesterday just got out of the Jewish General Hospital from a retrun trip from china on business
he said they quaranteened his whole plane ,i said there is a graph which shows quebec only has 2 cases and he said i can tell you for a fact its over 100 in quebec and 1000 in washington the governments are lying to us
i asked how hospital food was he said w could order mcdonalds if we wanted and they are supposed to be reimboursed expences by the government.Jewish has 4 special rooms with negative pressure
it was at his place of business and ther was others around so he didtn get into specifics,he just t said i have not seen you in a while i said i came by a few times you were not here thats when he told me he just got out of hospital for corona virus.

i dont know where you are getting your numbers, the mortality rate of people in their 20s is less than 0.2%. That's 1 in 500! (and if you consider asymptomatic people, probably a lot less than 0.2%)

you can get infected 2x which is a rare fact

oh by the way npw appaREntly entering teh contry here they do a saliva test and a few other tests not jsut the worthless temperature check which is zero indication in many people who will only develop fever in 3-14 days

there is too many people in the world
person i spoke with said he feels since they can isolate the source of origin (not location)

Hey CB. I don’t question the numbers your posting, but we can’t assume that every single person that has been exposed to the coronavirus has been tested. If every person on the planet was to be tested the mortality rate would inevitably decrease. If your saying out of the people that have been tested the percentage of deaths is 3.5%, then yes, your correct. But that’s not an accurate way to measure the true mortality rate.

Watched the news and they seemed to be in full panic mode in Italy

There should not be panic but neither should there be complacency. Those who ignore the facts now will pay the price later. Things will get worse before they get better so be rational and take precautions. Stock up on vital medications and canned foods....avoid large crowds and stay safe.

On the economic front the price of oil has dropped 25% on Asian markets to-day. Not a surprise since Cruise companies along with airlines are going bankrupt and car sales are down 80% in some markets. The airlines are in full panic mode. Anyone get a "Dear Valued Customer letter"? I got one from Southwest Airlines which I use frequently. It's titled, "An Update Regarding Coronavirus." It's "A message from our SVP and Chief Marketing Officer, Ryan Green."

The letter goes on to state:

"We spend between 6-7 hours cleaning each aircraft every night, and, as of March 4, 2020, we have enhanced our overnight cleaning procedures. Typically, we use an EPA approved, hospital-grade disinfectant in the lavatories and an interior cleaner in the cabin. Now, we are expanding the use of the hospital-grade disinfectant throughout the aircraft, and it will be used in the cabin, on elements in the flight deck, and in the lavatory. This goes beyond the standard CDC guidelines. Also, we equip each of our aircraft with a HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Air) filter, which filters out recirculated air onboard each plane to remove airborne particles. HEPA filters are also used in hospitals to provide patients with clean air."

What a crock of bullshit! That's why I am not copying and pasting the rest of the letter........does anyone really think any of this will prevent infection when you step on board with a few other persons who are carrying the virus?

Very simple,your seat is pristine clean,every surface of the plane including circulated air.A infected person sits next to you for a multi hour flight.
