MOSCOW - Russia on Tuesday became the first country to approve a coronavirus vaccine for use in tens of thousands of its citizens despite international skepticism about the injections that have not completed clinical trials and have not been studied in dozens of people for less than two months.

President Vladimir Putin said in announcing the approval that one of his two adult daughters had already been vaccinated. He said the vaccine has undergone the necessary tests and has been shown to provide long-lasting immunity against the coronavirus, although Russian authorities have offered no evidence to support the claim of its safety or its efficiency.

I'm not sure if it's really effective. To be continued.

They had to have vaccinated peeps and then exposed them to the virus to see if it works and to get it out this quick.

Around the corner
Russia close to a vaccine, looking to distribute in August, I don’t see that being possible. But if it is it’s great news.
I heard this also last week from relatives in Europe.
Wonder how willing they will be to share with the rest of the world if it works and at what cost.

“More than a billion doses” have been pre-ordered by 20 foreign countries, affirmed, without further details, Kirill Dmitriev, the head of the sovereign wealth fund Russian Direct Investment Fund, associated with the development of Sputnik V with the Gamaleïa Institute and the Department of Defense.

The start of production on an industrial scale is scheduled for September, in order to vaccinate health personnel and teachers from the start of the school year.

Trump wants the FDA to agree to put a vaccine on the market without waiting for phase 3 to be completed.
He's putting a lot of pressure on FDA to come out before November 3.

Imagine the situation the vaccine is not effective enough and everyone believes the opposite.

In short, instead of iradicating the covid, there will be even more hospitalizations and deaths.

Push push Donald

Actually the Moderna RNA (experimental never experienced human-GMO vaccine with obviously no long term knowledge) at high dose gives 21% severe reactions and these people either require hospitalization or medical attention and at low dose 100% had reaction to the vaccine.

Info source, Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s mouth from a yesterday french media interview.

If forced vaccination by law (law that we already have in Quebec since 2001-2) would happen, I'll ask for the Russian vaccine or any other non RNA vaccine. If not available at hand I'll ask to order it, I'll pay all fees for it. I'm looking forward for the least violation imposed to my body.

It could be a great vaccine. What’s the best way/study to figure out if a vaccine works. U inject someone with the vaccine, check em for antibodies like 4-6 weeks later, then give em the virus. After seeing what Putin did to that dude in icu in Germany u think they are not beyond doing viral challenge studies in people against their will?

I'm open to any non RNA vaccine in case being obliged by law vaccination, I'm just posting information here. No fanboy position regarding vaccine beside anti RNA ones.

The pharmaceutical industry has a history of corruption, human kind has twisted behaviors at all levels of life.

If we expect to consume with pure moral, we gonna need to go back in the woods and start from scratch.

My position begins and ends with informed consent. (and possibly moral).

With the corona situation, I mostly stand as an observer and try to go with what will suit me best, if possible.

Dear hobby friend, I hope I have properly answered because English is a second language for me.

The director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) told lawmakers on Wednesday that he doesn't expect a potential COVID-19 vaccine to be available for most Americans until the middle of next year, even as the government unveiled plans to begin distributing a vaccine as soon as possible.

"We're very close to having a vaccine," he said. "If you want to know the truth, the previous administration would have taken perhaps years to have a vaccine because of the FDA and all the approvals. And we're within weeks of getting it you know could be three weeks, four weeks."

And me, I think in early 2021

.

The article mentions the need to combine Vitamin D with Vitamin K12. I was surprised at the lack of mention of Magnesium since I have always read that the interaction of those is importsnt.
no such think as k12. you have B12 or k2. best to take K2 with vitiman d3..most people are deficient in magensium. .magnesium bisglycinate. is the form i take highest bio available form.helps you stay asleep natural muscle relaxant.

Anyone taking a vaccine released within even a year of "when the world was united in fighting this thing" is crazy. Long term unknowns do not outweigh what might be 50% level of effectiveness limited to 1 covid strain. And there's multiple covid strains, supposedly.

I've been reading quite the opposite. The only good thing about Covid is that it doesn't really mutate unlike the way Influenza did during the Spanish Flu. The incorrect use of the term "second wave" can confuse people into thinking that Covid has mutated. During the Spanish Flu the influenza virus did mutate and it came back changed during the second and third wave. What we are experiencing now is the continuation of the original first wave.

When it enters a cell, a virus replicates: it copies itself in order to spread.

With each replication, errors occur in the copy of the virus genome, such as a computer bug. But this error may or may not have a greater or lesser impact on the way the virus behaves.

RNA viruses (genetic material similar to DNA), such as SARS-CoV-2, mutate faster than DNA viruses because their encoding errors are more frequent.

However, coronaviruses mutate less quickly than other RNA viruses: so far, for example, SARS-CoV-2 mutates half as fast as influenza and four times as fast as HIV, according to Emma Hodcroft, epidemiologist from the University of Basel (Switzerland), recently cited in the journal Nature.

Scientists even consider the new coronavirus to be genetically relatively stable.

As of yet, there is no clear indication that the virus has mutated in such a way as to significantly alter its effects on humans.

90% is excellent. Vaccine are usually approved at a 60-70% effectiveness rate. This is great news!
