Rep. Liz Cheney: "After our last hearing, President Trump tried to call a witness in our investigation, a witness you have not yet seen in these hearings.
That person declined to answer...instead alerted their lawyer...this committee has supplied that information to the Department of Justice...
We will take any effort to influence witness testimony very seriously "

trump is so corrupt.

Today's Jan. 6 committee hearing focused on connections between former President Donald Trump and his associates and right-wing extremist groups like the Oath Keepers.

Oath Keepers? I thought the Proud Boys were the DIE HARD-style terrorist villains of this scenario. I believe this is what they call a movie script continuity error.

In the article it says that he's retired and that people ignore him. If he's retired how would someone go about ignoring him?
You didn't understand anything.

A Capitol Police officer who was injured on January 6, 2021, said Republican lawmakers ignore him.

Sgt. Aquilino Gonell told MSNBC that the very people he protected that day now "avoid him."

The only exceptions, he said, are GOP Reps. Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger.

Admittedly it's not a well written article. What I gather from this is that the retirement happened recently (in June) some 17 months after the incident:
Another article I read suggested he only retired from the physical component of his job. But apparently, his comments referred to the aftermath of the incident when he was working.

Unlike yourself I understood the article perfectly which is why I questioned it and got a logical normal expected response from EB. When we retire in the states that means we leave the job so I merely questioned that if he is no longer working at the capitol how is he being avoided. Your response didn't respond to the point of my post. You simply tried to say I didn't understand anything while obviously not reading the article in the first place. Pretty embarrassing.

At the end of the day history will look upon these January 6th hearings for what they really are. A last effort attempt by Pelosi to ensure that your favorite politician and former president Trump cannot run for re election. Cheney will be gone shortly and the other clown has no chance of being re elected.

Point was if he is retired WTF would he be doing on the capitol around politicians. Were all Republican Politicians supposed to visit him at home and all other officers that were there to thank them personally or only the ones that were injured.
A horribly written article completely misleading and made no sense at all the way it was written.

I remember that he stole a few millions $ from donnors.
Money that was supposed to build a section of the Mexican border wall.
His best friend Trump pardonned him !

In an evening address made the day after the Jan. 6 attack, President Donald Trump would not say “the election is over” and insisted it be removed from his speech, according to video outtakes the Jan. 6 committee showed during the July 21 hearing.

In the video, Trump reads from a teleprompter, “but this election is now over.
Congress has certified the results” before stopping and saying he did not want to say “the election’s over.”

“I don't want to say the election's over. I just want to say Congress has certified the results without saying the election's over,” Trump said in the video.

The hearing focused on what President Donald Trump was doing during the Jan. 6, 2021 attack on the Capitol in an effort to interrupt the certification of Joe Biden’s presidential victory.

In the year since its creation, the committee has conducted more than 1,000 interviews, seeking critical information and documents from people witness to, or involved in, the violence that day.

Very revealing testimonies last night.
We knew that Trump "friends" organised the riot, Trump himself motivated the rioters that day with his speech.
He did nothing to stop the riot until 4:07 PM when he aknowledged that his coup didn't succeed.
In 3 hours 7 minutes, he didn't act to send reinforcement, it is Mike Pence from the Capitole that made that.
It is obvious that Trump wished that the confirmation of Biden victory would not happen even if it took Pence death.
