definition 'GND' , does not mean beautiful

I often see posts where someone seems to use Girl Next Door as a synonym for beautiful. I always thought that to be wrong so i looked it up to be sure.

Basically, GND refers to a girl being cute but not beautiful, and somewhat innocent and attainable.

That is exactly my definition of GND. A girl who is cute and above average pretty but not quite DDG beautiful .

Examples for me.
Rose @ Vogue is GND with a 10 for attitude and service
Lia @ Vogue is DDG.

Amira @ Vogue is in between GND and DDG

Obviously everyones's scale varies, but for ME (Looks wise only).

GND simply means average, on numbering scale 1 to 10 that equals to 5 and 6s ,which are OK.
(BUT as we know, if these numbers are used here at MERB, the reviewer will be crucified).

DDG means way above average, 9 and 10s. No argument here.

Looks like we are missing the term for "Above Average" 7 and 8s category ???

exactely my point, that is a misuse of the meaning. according to the diefinition, GND means cute, not average. average is average, and cute is cute

I personaly think it s very hard to say what a gnd is. Everybody has there point of view of what a gnd is.
It s the same think like saying that girl is really hot, what s hot for one is cold for another. A debate on a
subject like this one could go on for ever without really having a straight answer. Even when one say s she s
a spinner, what is a spinner a girl that s 5 feet 5 105 pounds or 5 feet 5 115.

I agree with this, but my point of the thread is gnd means cute, not beautiful and not average, but cute. What someone finds cute or beautiful is up to them, but dont use gnd to mean beautiful, as many on this board do

GND has nothing to do with being pretty or gorgeous. It mostly means that the girl looks like a standard woman.
By that I mean that if you would cross her path on the street or at any other place, like the grocery store, you would never imagine she is in the sex industry.

The term is somewhat the opposite of porn star look. A GND has no collagen lips, no giant fake breasts, does not wear a ton of makeup, Is not tanned to the point you know she spends a lot of time at the salon or has that strange orange Trump look and does not dress in a way that is too sexy for the occasion. She may be dressed in a sexy way, but without crossing the line. You would bring her to the office party and no one would suspect you paid for her company.

She may be pretty, even drop dead gorgeous but it’s not beauty that defines a GND.

One girl that comes to my mind When I think about a GND is Gabrielle Laliberté from Indy Companion or Romie for the Québec city folks. They both are very different, but they would easily go under the radar as SP in a crowd.

fdube has it right, but I would add that "Girl Next Door" connotes a certain class distinction, as well.

In general, the visual cues suggest a "nice" girl, modest, even wholesome in appearance, and from a middle-class background.

It has nothing to do with a standard of beauty; a GND would just not be demonstrative about her appearance.

Merriam-Webster has the following usage example: "She's a big star now, but her fans still think of her as the girl next door."

I'll go with charmer's scale more or less. 7 or 7.5. It denotes a certain level of attractiveness, at least in this hobby.

While fdube has it right, the term has evolved especially on review boards like Merb.
These days many on Merb look at GND as a sign of above average looks....someone pretty but not gorgeous.
When I use GND in a review, I add a description to it like "GND above average or GND pretty" for example.

This is the beauty of life.

Always interesting to me the different definitions that guys have about beauty.

My 2 cents: GND is a cute girl, but one that doesn't turn your head to look at on the street. My ratings are: 6 - minimum fuckable, average face; 7-7.5 GND, 8-8.5 is turn your head to look at on street; 9 is stare at on street; 9.5-10 is model looks (rare to find in SPs).

I don't differentiate between made-up "porn star" look or fresh-faced look for GND - it's how pretty they are that counts in my face ratings.
