I worship every religion. They were all invented by men to impose their superiority over women. Probably made sense 2000 years ago but things have changed.

I like Lou's sentence below "I do believe tho that equality between women and men should come first and that religious organisation should not be taxe exempt."

I dont know why but I love the parallel between equality of men/women or races for that matter and the taxed exempt for "religious" organisation.

Hearing Republicans saying Trump was chosen by god simply makes me puke. We are not in Iran!

Cheers,

It's not about Trump it's the way religion is involved in politics (mostly for the republican) does makes me scared.

Bonne année!

Hahahaha! So funny. I told someone when he asked me this question that I believe God is a bisexual woman, and he didn’t think I was very funny. Hehehehe

LOL as a teenager I always joked that I believed god was a lesbian, feminist and communist black trans woman and people real did not like that.

Nice thread. We all ask existential questions. I believe there is no afterlife, when you die you cease to exist in any possible way. It looks like there is no god or any superhuman intelligence that supervises humans let alone the physical world. If it exists, it, so far, expressed no interest to let us know :alien:. Human civilization may has developed by chance but has potential to evolve onto more stable intelligent form that will not rely on biological species that can only survive in a very specific environment, exist for a relatively short period of time and thus has very little chance colonizing space. In a few thousand years humans may become irrelevant to the future global intelligence and there is nothing bad about it.

I believe that the Bible exists. My belief is reinforced (almost) every time I open a bedside drawer in my hotel room.

I like the part where Moses parts the Red sea. I imagine women's legs being spread out. Mary Magdalene backstory isn't bad either.

The Bible has been cut down over the years to better control the masses. We are energy, not matter. Energy can never be created or destroyed, it simply changes form. That’s my definition of reincarnation & modern science supports it. Why let people believe they have unlimited lives when you can make them easier to control by convince them there’s only one. There is documentation of Jesus traveling to India in his youth but most of his life has been concealed. It’s just easier to control people when you control the narrative of their belief system. Science without religion is mental speculation & religion without science is sentimentality.

Faye Fleure its time to hear from you. You are a ph.d student majoring in philosophy so your comments would be very relevant now.

that there is a god? i have no evidence for or against god's existence, so i remain open to anything. however, i am not betting my life on it. was the bible inspired by god? absolutely not.

God is a mystery beyond human comprehension. There must certainly be things beyond our grasp; thus, god must exist. Any representation of god is inaccurate.

If God wanted me to believe he exist, it would have shown itself by now, to me, personally, or spoken to me, personally. In its infinite power and wisdom and omnipotence and whatnot, can it not reveal itself to me aside from going to church on sundays or reading a re-edited text about it? Please, the Bible is a story book, like all the other religious books, all fantasy.

Mind you, if there is a Godly plan, this is all part of it. To what avail? No one knows but God. It also means that if there is a plan, you don't have to do shit, it's all part of the plan. God wills it. How can my will be stronger than God's? Oh yes, I was created in his (it) image, right , right! So do I have it's powers? No, you're just a clone of God, no super powers but, you can reproduce yourself and you're mortal, which is a gift really, cause gods are so bored with immortality, they're just dying out of boredom, up there, in the clouds.

Did I say gods? Yes cause you see, the first religions we're polytheists, they believed in more gods because they didn't shit about Jack shit. So all those gods we're responsible for everything we didn't understand. Then as humans understood more shit, those gods responsible for the shit we didn't know about, they we're relieved of their Sacred duties such as fertility, crops growth, rain, the sun and moon cycle. So then we had fewer gods down to just one, see it like Neo of the Matrix, and this One God, now with all its power concentrated on the shit we humans still didn't know how it worked, is still the reigning God, until we humans understand the rest of the shit we still don't understand. And then, god will be no more when we humans understand it all.

It's called evolution.

Quite right, as we may see quite clearly in the next while (the Iran stuff). Sol Tee Nutz is rather cloudy on a few issues though... not worth pointing out the obvious.
