damn, never heard that word. EB should come up with one of those toilet paper rolls with a fancy word on each sheet with its definition written on it. Everyday you could learn a new word. Id buy the 1st roll. I coulda learned this word contrarian 20 min after eating a cheesy Gordita supreme from Taco Bell, with a shit load of hot sauce.

anywhoo, nah the Montreal market is run, by and primarily for the locals. The fact that these chics speak English as well as they do is a bonus. I guess I can’t say it’s not a visitors market, that was a mistake considering how some roll in sometimes for a week seeing an average of 1.5 SP’s a day. But they are just hitchin a ride

When you repeat it is kind of fun to see how much they improve over time.

I remember Alicia of MTLGFE was telling me she was anglo but they moved to Montreal when she was a small girl and she lost it. "She lost it" was her words. When I saw her the next time many months later she was much better. Someone told me she preferred girls so I guess it was good that I always had 3sums with her.

Alicia if your out there. Please contact me. Daddy's here for you. And I mean what I said. You can have your way with me. Please PM me (Not you Tony).

You are always cutting corners. Learn the fucking language already. I did this in Brazil and I practice every day. It's fun. It was going to be French after I discovered Montreal but I get more mileage out of Portuguese as a hobby language. It is necessary for Brazil and I run into Porto speaking GDPs all over the world. They export.

It’s a good plan. Stick to some independent SP and pay for 1.5 h sessions: 1 hour for the language class and the rest for some sex on the condition you did your homework well. So if you don’t want to have blue balls you will learn fast :D

There you go.

I remember one of the Eleganza girl teaching me the famous phrase that de Gaulle made during a famous speech "Vive le Québec libre."

Excerpt from Gianna Review 3/10/2008
She was very nice. I would definitely repeat. Liz of Xxxtase, Gianna, and then Allyson of Devilish are three of the most passionate woman that I have ever met – in that order. She taught me the phrase “Comment Ce Va” and Alyssa of Eleganza taught me the phrase “Vive le Quebec Libre.” At $180 per pop for French lessons from Eleganza, I wonder how long it will take me to learn to speak the language fluently.

What does contrarian mean?

A search on the world wide web gives me:

“a person who takes a contrary position or attitude specifically : an investor who buys shares of stock when most others are selling and sells when others are buying”

not sure about the first part... but heck sure knows about second part even started a thread about this as i’m trying to find out when that fucking overvalued market will finally tank so i can invest for christ sake!!!!

In fact Jali, the proper word should be "contradicting"...as in contradicting himself!...but he wouldn't know the difference between "contrarian" and "contradicting" based on his statement!

...but the financial aspect of "contrarian" you introduced Jali is simply hilarious since it may now confuse him even more!...simonac!...lol!

Sharkman is correct. The Nature Boy put up a post (#38) contradicting and criticizing his own prior post, which he quoted. Contrarian is a way to describe the position being taken by the poster, in the latter post. It seemed to me that contradicting and criticizing one’s own quoted posts is the epitome of being contrarian. I don’t recall seeing it before. I have seen someone quote a prior post to amend it, but not to rebut and criticize one’s own position. This kind of posting technique is in many ways like the political “flip flop”, but in the context of anonymous posting as on MERB it makes one wonder which position is really being adhered to, the initial one or the latter. Perhaps this was a way to express uncertainty about the ultimate position.

Among other things, NB criticized his prior post for “sugarcoating things.”

I thought a contrarian is someone that always takes the opposite position. Sort of like a Devil's advocate.

Sharky when you charge so much for your time then you are risking getting a bad review from someone who lost their allowance by following your advice.
BTW I see we both started following a new lady on twitter. :))))

That’s what NB did. He discussed in the first post that English is spoken in the hospitality business in Montreal for reasons of business expedience. Then he criticized that position and said that the business of sex on the other hand is not the hospitality business and in fact sells itself. He argued both positions with himself, also noting that his own hospitality business reference had sugarcoated things. In effect, he told himself that his own prior post was comparing apples and oranges not potatoes and potatos.

It’s still not clear to me what NB actually believes.

Beav if you`d look closer than you`d see that NB`s quote got screwed up and he is not quoting himself but he is quoting minutemenX. He`s got too good of a sense of humour to correct you.

Wrong thread for this Cloudy...we can blame it on Jali...lol!...Actually, I don't provide advice because of my investing style!...However, the biggest "no brainer" investment decision of the 21st century thus far was in November 2016!...love you Trump!...it was a gift handed by Trump on a silver platter!...but not many believed me back then!

And yes, we are both following the same new lady on Twitter...and she speaks perfect english!
However, in all fairness I have to thank you for that...once again!...you da man Cloudy!

Latecomer but an interesting thread.

My brain just isn't wired for learning different languages. In addition, I seek more a connection for the moment that is more than just the usual mechanical sex and have had many great experiences when there is good verbal communications. Mostly from 15 years going to Toronto. I was only in Montreal once in 2000 after coming from a business conference in NYC.

I liked some of the earlier posts here that verbal is part of the experience. I even have problems with understanding accents, so for those that think everyone should be bilingual, you are lucky if you can easily lean another language...especially for old guys like me!

I was in Germany in June and got along fine not knowing a word of German. However, there English is often taught early in schools. I had a long delay at Heathrow/London on the way to Frankfurt and got to talking with others waiting for flights. It was funny a young native German visiting her boyfriend in London and very clear English yet another older Gentleman from London had such a British accent he was much harder to understand than the native German gal!
