^^^ He is so powerful that he has a time machine and can go back into the Bush and Obama administration and cause border guards to harass people. They didn't want to do it back in 2009. Trump made them somehow.

The Trumpster is royally pissed off with the failed drama teacher turned Prime Minister, aka Trudeau . So he instructs the Border Goons to give every one a hard time at the border . Get used to it , Trump is on course for four more years .

Last time I checked Canadian border agents were not employed by the US and take no instructions from Trump. But I do notice how often the Trump haters try to insert negative comments where there is no reason at all to bring it up. Like in this thread, for instance.

Sorry , since the thread is Nexus -__- etc I was commenting on the problems of Canadians entering The Once Great Republic to the South ; the one which the Trumpster is devoting his self proclaimed genius to 'Making Great Again "
The Nexus pass is supposed to assist me when dealing with the Guardians of the Republic , it doesn't .
By the way , I don't hate Trump , I just think he is bat shit crazy .

That's possible too. When Melania kicks him out of the White House for excessive whoring, he has to go somewhere.

Please correct me if I am wrong, but for U.S. citizens, I believe NEXUS comes with full Global Entry privileges when arriving from any country.

That is correct but it is not clear from the Customs website. I called an office in another city and talked to a nice customs agent that confirmed it included Global Entry. I used it in Frankfurt Germany when returning to the US. They had lots of Kiosk's and lots of folks using them but found an available one immediately. Stood in a separate line afterwards and as I recall no questions just handed them the slip the Kiosk spitted out when I was approved.

My Nexus expired at the end of 2019. Applied for renewal in July 2019, but still in process. Because of the huge sending of agents to the Southern border and backlog for lack of agents all Nexus's current holders have been extended for 1-year - no new card but hopefully the kiosks will know of the automatic extension. Some renewals are approved quickly but most wait like me for more than six months.

Long, long ago I was detained at Victoria BC customs long before C36. Somehow they thought I was someone from Florida - I hadn't been to Florida since a kid and went to Disney World (or Land). On my laptop they found my links to perb where I was active and had lots of info on escorts. I taught the agents the Canadian law that even though many agencies have incalls in downtown Victoria (after the nice Sheriff moved them from area just North) and periodically checked on the incalls just to be sure were legal age, and paid the $100 yr escort fee. I explained to the agents I only did outcall which was totally legal pre C36. The older agent went in back probably to look up the Canadian Criminal Code while the younger guy was very intrigued. I think I even gave him the Canadian Criminal Code section number since I had done a lot of research and wrote about it.

They agreed all was legal and no problem The young guy asked "you actually exchange with prostitutes on Perb? What do you talk about? Had nice discussion and I bet you he looked up Perb that night. Maybe now a hobbyist! They apologized for detaining me after maybe a 2-hour delay.

After that applied for Nexus and never a problem - usually I go to Toronto every year now vs BC, and last went to Montreal in about 2002. Both have more options like massage and strip clubs vs the stricker bylaws in BC. Mostly Toronto (specifically Mississauga - thanks to liberal bylaws of Ms. Hazel long time Mayor until about age 90.)

I have always been more interested in non-sexual intimacy, caressing, giving massage as well as getting (have trained couples in Esalen massage), etc. So, of course, do not violate C36 now when I go to Canada every summer to escape the Phoenix heat for about 10 days at a time.

I can’t stress this enough, nuke all electronics before crossing any border. I erase my phone, iPad etc. and have all of my electronics ready to go in about 5 minutes when I get to my hotel.

Nexus gee have to have new interview, and the only place open is in New Brunswick

Nexus gee have to have new interview, and the only place open is in New Brunswick

I renewed my Nexus pass in July 2019, and it expired in January 2020.

On 3/25/2020, I was notified conditionally approved but have to have another interview. Looking up interview sites, the only one available currently is in New Brunswick!

However, the current Nexus is extended for a year, and I have a year to do the interview. Hopefully, more sites will be open once life as we use to know it returns.

I already canceled a trip to Montreal.

I am booked in late April to Toronto to attend a CFP "Retirement Canada Dialog" However, Air Canada send me notice yesterday, "we regret to inform you".... my flight late April canceled. The "Dialog" is now rescheduled until late August. I have to cancel the hotels since I was booked for seven days. Hopefully, by August, the travel ban, etc. will be over, and large meetings, etc. will be allowed again.

Canada will extend ban on non-essential travel from US; not that it matter since mandatory quarantine is in effect at least till end of August. US likely extend ban on non-essential travel from Canada over the land border.

With nearly half of US states trending in wrong direction, and the fall bringing colder temperatures, I doubt we’ll see a border re-opening in 2020. Even if the US stabilizes somewhat by Sept/Oct, Canadian officials are going to want to monitor data for about 3 or 4 more weeks.

One more thing I should have mentioned, the US Customs won't be doing any renewals until at least September 8th.

I agree Canadians are unlikely to let us in anytime soon.

Following is a graph of % positive tests of US and Canada. Similar culture and geographic size but we cant get our sh*t together.
