Hey guys,

As many SPs require deposit/e-transfer for booking, what is the safest way to do it without revealing bank account or personal information? What can I do so that, this doesn't go to bank transaction history?

Thanks all for your input.

This has been brought up a few times in the past. See if you can find those threads. To answer your question, the way I would go about it is to buy a cash gift card and give her the information on that. That way there is no way of it getting back to you.

Look behind you.
Every transaction will go on your history, there are many that do not require prepaid.

Prepaid gift cards (credit card or PayPal, or any other one she might be interested in), payments towards online advertising.

I used this the other day.

It's annoying because when banks first started offering email transfer, you could change the name and email to whatever you wanted. Now they won't let you edit the name that displays in the transfer email sent to the recipient.

I got a koho reloadable visa card and same thing. Testing out stack mastercard reloadable but I think it is the same.

Just delete the recipient and then re add using whatever name you want.

What do you mean?

There's no way to edit my name in the bank account info for transfers and it is automatically included in the email confirmation that funds were accepted.

I thought you meant you wanted to change the recipient's name, but looks like you meant you want to change your own name so that it appears differently to the recipient. If that is what you meant then no there is no way to change it to a fake name. This is a legal above board bank transaction therefore the recipient has the right to know who they are getting funds from.

Yes, that's what I meant. It used to be no problem to accept email transfer however now it means revealing personal information.

If you want to do an anonymous transfer you can also:
  1. Use PayPal (they will see your username but not your real name)
  2. Buy a prepaid credit card and then either mail the card or email the number.
  3. Use cash.
  4. Get a bank draft.

I'm surprised no one has commented on this. Iv'e been thinking about doing this. I really don't feel comfortable with email transfers. I do use PayPal once in a while but there are fees and I've been forced to give up the account that was anonymous. I'm pretty sure my personal details would be shared from the current account.

But crypto currency, whether bitcoin, Ethereum or another, might be a good way to keep both parties personal information private.

But how many people are going to be able or willing to get themselves set up. Ugh.

But seriously, isn't that the only anonymous solution?

On a slightly different but related note.

It would be great if there was a trusted service for holding deposits until both parties have fulfilled their part of the agreement.

It sucks having to ask for a deposit but in most cases it is not to scam but rather to protect oneself from getting scammed. There is a risk of wasting not only time but also money when accepting an outcall engagement. It's not unreasonable to ask for the travel cost to be covered up front. On the other end, it's not always a risk a gentleman is willing to take by sending a deposit beforehand.

One solution is to have the gentleman order the Uber, or if they still allow it, to arrange payment with the taxi company ahead of time.

The fact is that we ladies get screwed and you gentleman also get scammed. Always takes assholes to ruin it for everyone.

Sorry for the long message but it brings me to something I was thinking about the other day after listening to a story of a girl totally scamming a good guy who had sent a deposit.

There should be a group of people who run a service for holding these deposits until the conditions agreed upon prior by both parties have been met.

Lady requires a deposit for an outcall appointment. Gentleman pays the deposit to the service. If the lady never shows, gentleman gets his deposit back. Lady is flagged for the incident. And after a certain number of issues, she is blacklisted. If gentleman does not respect the agreement, he forfeits the deposit and it is sent to the lady.

Is this completely impossible? I love the idea. Less wasting of people's time.

It would make my life so much easier.

It's an idea, but it wouldn't solve having to use your personal info or transaction history. I've had SP's ask to order an Uber but I would rather just give cash to continue to be as anonymous as possible. Same thing goes for a deposit service.

Found this out the other day by accident. Last time I purchased a gift card was over a year ago and was shocked to find out that they now charge $5-$10 for each card purchased.

Setup an escrow with a sleazy attorney like Saul Goodman. Be prepared to pay a considerable fee.
