probably going on for ever but it really picked up in october around the 18th
got 6 + calls which is supposed to indicate its from overseas
note never ever call these back they typicall call and hang up to annoy you hopeing you call back and you can get anywhe from $4.99 to $30 + fee

called my service provider they told me to to to phone icon settings block numbers and to put 4 area codes in which will block all numbers from thsoe area codes
well this is not really a block in my opinion your phone goes to voice mail and fills up your voice mail

when you call the do not call list useless as tits on a bull they typically say well they are not trying to sell you something call the anti fraud number
with the exception to the endless calls from mariot hotels you won yada yada yada then do not call list wants everythimn but a hair off your ass to file a complaint with crtc which never follows up
bonus is their option 3 to file a complaint never transfered teh call i got a link to a new number called it and got scammed for $4.95mendless loop

anti fraud you get a lovely message their are receving a abnormally high amount of calls,that their number was spoofed and people gave personal information so if yo actually lost money stay on line or they cant help you otherwise

cops forget them they never helped and being a man and a big guy even if i said someone threatened me i look like a shaved gorilla they roll their eyes like ya right

only good news is hi ya app my provider suggest and cut calls to maybe 1 a day now
these guys who spoof numbers have a endless amount of area codes they can use
and i have got calls from local numbers when i call back i get a message this number is not assigned
this number is not in service
or this is a outbound call center we can not recieve calls

The telemarketers in the States can now somehow clone/pirate (I don't know the correct word to use) a private number. You see a private number with an area code and you pick up and it is a tele-marketer telling you that your warranty is about to run out and that this is my final warning.

I used to enjoy that call from the Sheriffs Dept asking for a donation. My answer You get a God Damn donation every time you pull me over to give me a ticket. Fuck off!!! I used to slam the phone down and it was fun with the old a landline.

When they ask for your name ( You owe the government money ) is kind of funny, I always ask what are my first 3 initials and I will see how far this conversation goes.
The telemarketers I usually fuck with if I have time, sound amazed at the deals, decide to order a whole bunch of shit. When time to pay give then a bogus card number, when it is refused go ooops must have said the wrong expire date, then change that, they catch on after awhile and hang up.

Yeah I am getting all of these from Chad and Macedonia and all over Africa.

I used to like the ones about installing windows, the caller was always from India.

I would tell them I was waiting for their call and I would like the double sided ones with tinted glass and if they could threw in a good price for a sliding door I would appreciate it.
This would go on for 15-20 min with him trying to explain it is windows for my computer, I would sound puzzled and ask him who installs windows on a computer there is already glass on it and proceed with asking if he has the kind with the nice handles and I would like to be able to flip it if possible to make it easier to clean.
It usually ended with him swearing and hanging up but the patience of these guys really amazed me, there were occasions when I could keep this going for 30 minutes.

well i am proud to say i found 1 way they are scamming us.part of my job when i worked was solving problems and i solved one for the cell phone company.the scammers are using text to home phone
i went over my bill with the provider to find of the 46 calls since my last statement only 6 actually appeared yet 40 are on my phone as well an additional 4 went straight to voice message,
i don't have a home phone only a cell so if your the same as me getting voice messages no calls registering you can contact your provider
and ask them to

you put your number

be carefull sometimes text you received you click them dn they reconnect you to a number as well never ever call # numbers they all have a charge and some as much or more than $30

on google looking up do not call list which is as useless as tits on a bull
i got a #2030 to call and when i did and got the voice option press 1 o be connected i realized i was scammed $4.99 had to argue with my service provider not to pay it.usually you get 1 chance on stupidity like this.

Anyways I as well have been getting the usual calls from scammers using spoofed area codes , robocalls and what not . Also a lot of recorded calls in Mandarin which I find hilarious since how exactly am I gonna get scammed since I don’t understand or speak a lick of that language
I can send all unknown calls to voicemail but as already mentioned here your voicemail will quickly fill up
Government should force the telephone companies to block the scammers, robocalls ,,, the technology is there so why not hold the telecom industry accountable and protect the elderly which easily get duped

i told these assholes at my phone company i dont get international calls ever and dont care if i ever do but apparently the crt wont allow them to block valid area codes>I told em provider i see a darker side that you cant srerw us customers who dont argue bills when xtra charges appear and it is a money maker reason you dont do it

as i told my provider
when the CRT blocks the endless calls from congo africa chad jamacia dominican republic el salvador russia over seas numbers(which i got about 60 calls from) they will use 1-800 toll free numbers and local numbers
its less but jan 5 and 7 i got 2 calls saying VHL we have important documents for you then they speak chinese all recording which repeat 2x and hangup 855 area code 1st time 647 2nd time
then today cherry on the cake i got a call saying chinese voice epartment a recording then chinese 2x and hang up from a 888 area code

They get around the no call list by calling you letting it ring once so that you call them back. Never answer call a 1-800 number or a out of country number.

don't forget the text messages
not showing a valid number it comes from usually a 4 diget number it asks you to download a attached picture=virus

or a # + 4 digets hopeing you text back the number as it is a minimum $4.99 fee calling its your service provider
ive been told by my serviee provider some # numbers can even cost upwards of $30 a minute

call the do not call list which does not take care of scam calls but forwards the complaint to the anti fraud number which got frauded themselves and unless you lost money wont help you

to 16 december
january 2020 6

prior to enabling this i make anyone important favourite so their call will come through
i got my service provider to double length of rings before voice mail

if i get a peristant caller i answer and don't talk if it is a caller like the retards who claim marriott hotels and are you over 40 like what banana boat country do you have to live in to be over 40 to get a free promotion

I get voice messages from Credit National or whatever it's called (because Truecaller blocks the call everytime). The message goes like this - "Nous avons reçu aucune retour d'appel. Contactez Crédit National @ #####". I get at least 3 to 4 calls per day, but those get blocked by Truecaller, so I'm not really bothered unless I'm on a call.

Truecaller is a good app for looking up caller id, but it also reveals your name to others; at least, it shows under what name/alias other Truecaller users have saved your number in their phones.

There was a period i was receiving one of those a day for a few weeks, very annoying, but it stopped at some point. Now its very ocasional.

Personally i don't answer to numbers i do not know or that are not from my home town. I mean if i see my area code (not general area code, but litteraly the town code, as there is only one) then ill answer as i know its very local, but i don't answer even calls that says "sherbrooke" wich is the "big town" nearby.

My answering message on my voice mail is actually saying i do not answer to any numbers i do not know, so its clear.

That being said my cell is only used to text/call with my friends and ocasionally for stuff like dentist appointement or the video store saying they received a movie i ordered, stuff like that. I am not supose to get call by foreign numbers or such.

I already said it in the past but a few years ago i received a call the very next day after i had an appointement, i was just back home and they called me saying they were the police and they had found my identity card in some hotel. The guy was very quebecer and spoke in french, he had my full name. I suspect he reversed check my number on facebook (i since unlinked that). Granted the hotel he mentioned was wrong, i never been there of my life, so i knew right away the story was bollock. They used a private number too. I would think the police wouldn't block their numbers... lol. Still it bugged me at the time. I really was wondering who it was. Timing was weird like i said as i had seen someone the day before. I suspected it could had been the agency booker since it was an agency i only had use once or twice before. They are not in business anymore these days.

Anyway... Now like i said i just avoid any "weird number" or private numbers call. And i never call back anybody that im not sure about.
