You have already started a thread some time ago offering SPs some kind of web consulting service for a fee. It seems that you like to control SPs with all your knowledge.

Back that statement up now with specific evidence, and then issue an immediate, complete and unmitigated public apology, when you don't find it.

I have spent the past three years giving SPs free advice on how to do business on the Internet as inexpensively as possible. I have never taken a dime (or free services, so don't go there either) from any of those I have helped, and I know of at least four who read this board who would contradict me were it not true. Hornyforever Go ask Kiki or Judy, or K.I.M. by PM how much I charged, or proposed to charge (in the case of Kim, she decided to go with a different approach), and then get back to us all. It is apparently difficult for pathetically small minds to be able to envision such a circumstance where something is given away for free, with no hope nor desire of personal gain, and so once again, we have to have this discussion.

Not that it is even remotely any of your business HFE, but my PM to lisreal was specific and laid out in a manner as to protect her interests at every turn: first, check with Fred Zed, Mods 5 & 8 (all of whom know who I am and could vouch for my abilities and my discretion in such matters) about me before accepting my offer to help. Furthermore, regarding the DMCA take-down notice, I told Lisa that she would have to reveal her real name, to the hosting company, but not to me. I specifically don't want to know it.

Regarding tools to use to do amateur detective work on the net, if someone cares to create such a thread, I'd be happy to throw a list of a few sites together and put it forth.

(after thought: I kind of like the idea of being a Svengali-like figure running a cult populated by hot SPs. Maybe I'll look into doing what I am accused of. Sounds like fun)

she removed her site. mariefrancemontreal.com

I honestly believe that she was probably an attractive woman otherwise she wouldnt have gotten away with it for so long. I also think she is proabably a capable provider.

But, unfortunately that is my material, my sweat spilled at the gym, my funds to fund the photo shoots, my thoughtful planning for photo shoots and web site design.

now to YOU - thank you dear men of montreal

Edit: Ok, you have made your point. No need to try to do free advertising.

The only problem is, the website is still up.

MODs: this should be merged with the other thread, https://merb.cc/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=53171

If you have specific links to the secondary pages, yes, it is up. The home page is down, which is probably sufficient to keep it out of the public eye.

You clearly don't understand how the digital millennium copyright act works. Step one, EB, is for the copyright owner to issue a take-down notice to the entity(ies) responsible for the hosting. That is the easy part, and is generally complied with, without attorneys, or the legal system directly involved.

I don't claim to be an expert in IP law or intellectual property, but I am familiar with the fundamental concept of a cease and desist letter, having written many of them, usually in the context of disputes over land, business names, or customer lists. If such a letter is sent and complied with, whether written by an attorney or a "knuckle dragger" lay person as you would say, there should be no need for litigation, or for posts on MERB. If the matter is not complied with, usually such a letter specifies that legal action will be taken, and the type of action that will be taken. While these disputes often can be resolved without litigation, it is sometimes the case that the person misusing the property believes they have a right to do so or believes there is no recourse against them. In such a situation, the matter is best dealt with by an experienced, local professional attorney who has skill in dealing with the matter at hand.

Since this thread is long on drama and short on facts and evidence, it is not clear to me what stage this person is at, or whether she in fact needs an attorney.

I would also caution that people who try to take legal matters into there own hands often find out they are in over their heads at a time when it is too late to help them. I am not saying that is the case here, but I have many clients come to me with a mess that I cannot clean up, including in foreclosures where I have been consulted by clients who had already lost their properties to the lenders and did not know it. This is usually because a "know it all" family member was out there negotiating for the client, and in that person's head it was all worked out, but in reality, it wasn't. The world is filled with such people and the cases that come to me are the messes that result when such "know it all" family members or family friends have managed to completely fuck up the case. I then come in and clean up the resulting mess. That's what I do. I am a janitor of legal messes.

Ok, I'm no legal internet law expert but I can still realize this thread is going towards a pissing contest.

The goal of the thread was to warn Merbists and it was done. No pointgoing on discussing the legal details here between the bunch of pseudo-experts we all are. Nobody here have a claim at being a certified Canadian legal expert in internet and copyrights laws.

Thread closed.
