I am thinking about big Salons downtown their rent must be 10k 15k 20k up damn.
I dunno how long before they reopen.
Do u think some wont reopen ?
No tourist at all this summer no grand prix jazz etc .....
Even Stripclubs downtown are good with foot traffic tourists ?
It will be ugly.
Hope not.

My feeling is many providers will be providing services with a mask on and also require the customer wears a mask too.

Any that do will be the curse of their business as they will not get any who repeat ... JMHO ... but think about what you wrote - who in they right mind is going to PAY for that experience?? NOT me.

I agree. If they will operate like that, they might as well stay closed.

Well i have a feeling that when the provincial government allows business such as nail salons, hairdressers, massage providers, etc... to reopen, the providers and clients will be required to wear masks at least at the beginning.

legault said today that its quite possible montreal wont reopen on may 25 and that schools may not reopen in the city until the fall if things dont improve which probably means if that were to happen that most businesses would be closed part of the summer too

ford in ontario reiterated today that he wants the border with the usa to remain closed. freeland said in ottawa that the border restrictions will likely be loosened but only for essential travel which means no tourists

if that scenario plays out and with many business still closed and little to no tourists, i wouldnt count on parlours or any other similar venues opening until the fall at best. the places that were barely getting by before the crisis probably wont bother reopening

I agree, I don't think that in MMC, massage parlors will reopen soon.

I really hope that September will be behind us, but unfortunately my optimism is severely tested.

And yes, I think many will never reopen.

They will reopen as soon as the two meters restriction is finished. I dont think they will reopen before that or that they will actually be able to reopen before that.

Oh Happy ... nothing would make me happier than to see that too but you can believe they will keep that in place "for your own protection" ... what a joke and the giving up of liberties

They may be coming for you…

My guess is it will still be some time before they allow personal care businesses to re-open: barbers, dentists, etc... where the provider can wear gloves and a facemask. So it will take even longer before they allow spas and massage salons to re-open, my guess is not before mid-2021, so I agree with the comment of when a vaccine will be available.

The choice each one of us has, at the moment, is to go to an independent SP, and judging from the ads on different websites, more and more SP's are coming back to business.

I totally agree with you.
On the other hand for me I find that it is far too early for SP to return. Perhaps the solution would be for those who are going crazy, to go to a more remote region.
It would be safer but zero risk doesn't exist. I prefer to stay well settled at home, and to be patient, it is not always easy, but good !!
I have no choice if I want to resume my hobby.

Hows that vaccine for SARS and AIDS and franky even the Flu working out for you ... first two don't exist and the third has maybe 50/50 shot at working ... waiting for a vaccine? Self induced craziness

Dentists and such opening here next week .... limited availability and procedures but opening and this is a corrupt severely locked down state ...

I'll come get a massage with a non-masked sexy lady just as soon as the neon OPEN sign goes on!!

Thats the kind of attitude everyone on here should have. Health is the most important thing and why risk it?

This virus is here to stay and we have to live with it. Just like STDs, the flu and all other diseases. And a vaccine is not guaranteed to work either. So it boils down to your own individual decision and judgment of risk.

Do we wait another month? SIx months? One year? Two years? Nobody knows, nobody can give us a date.

I don't think SP's will wait two years, if they could, they would already have gotten out of this line of work, which, let's face it, is kind of hard on their self-esteem. So my guess is a lot of independents will be coming back in the next few weeks.

Will customers come back? I certainly think so. If they can stay away for two years, they don't need hobbying in the first place.

Hpcamper,

I do not think so. I think many will leave this business. Many will be too scared. Health over money. Some will come back and some kept on working despite the pandemic. But supply will go down considerably. Take a most Merb agencies are shut down and the advertising section is gone and I do not think they are coming back anytime soon maybe never. As far as I am concerned this hobby is over. The government does not stop with their security. If the government backs off then I see a chance of it going back to what it was.

Here in NYC, many MP closed before goverments demanded it because of fears from what they heard from people in China but now a few are opening up. Two want $200 instead of the usual $140 because no one wants to work but one was willing to accept the old price if you asked because there were no customers. One place still wants only $140 but they and you need to wear a mask. She took off the mask for a second and I realized why she wanted to keep it on. She was older and uglier than I would like. She goes on to say why would the mask matter since I am only fucking down there. Another place asking $140 was pissed off when I asked if the service was any good. Their reply was that it was only a fuck so don't make it complicated. Lastly one place ask for $100 but kept on dragging me in to negociate a lower price but she was older and chunkier than I like.

What is the point to open and go if it will be under those conditions? Might as well close. Unless fear of getting infected is gone and social distance rules are not enforced it will be futile. I would not bother to go.
