If MERB is the only social group membership you have, then it's sadly not much of a life. Think of other things to talk about guys. It shouldn't be hard.
I totally agree with you however I find it kind of comical also coming from the second highest Merb contributor with over 18,000 posts.lol. Yes I know it is over a long time period but even that adds to it being funny.

True, it is ironic on its face, but it's all for shits and giggles and it comes since 2003. From 2003-2016 I was quite active in Montreal, since 2016, not at all. Since then mainly posting in sports threads and lounge threads, almost no reviews. And mainly meeting women on SA and not escorts. That doesn't mean I forgot how it works though.

The highest contributor (Doc) would also tell you the same thing. He didn't take it or himself too seriously. But it did help us get invited to parties. And making in person connections with ladies. But in one and one with strangers I stopped using MERB reference, as it did more harm than good. I don't recommend it based on those same years of experience. Because I met a lot of people and agency owners at parties, they do know me as EB, but like Clark Kent or Bruce Wayne or Peter Parker I tend to shy away from my other persona and stick to the real guy persona and not the fake one.

It may come as a surprise but I post on a couple of sports related message boards and a health-related board and my posts there are roughly equivalent in number. I have different handles on those boards. One is a famous basketball player, the other is a combination of a place and a profession.

None of the above is on my resume. It's just shits and giggles filler in the day:

I don’t use my Merb handle, there is no need I know a few ladies that are more than happy to provide a reference if needed.
There are only 3 ladies that know it and one has stopped working for almost 2 years now.
My reviews are pretty non offensive and since I have yet to have a bad experience I don’t think I would have a problem divulging it but I find it totally unnecessary.

“Merb members who tell the girl right off the bat that he is on merb and will write you a review are usually more demanding”
Many clients are on merb to do their homework which is totally fine and responsable thing to do. Only a very small % mention they are on merb right away. Personally, this behavior come off to me as borderline agressive. It is not the best way to make a good first impression.

client: “hi, I’m XXX on merb I write a lot of review” (which translate to: I’ll push your buttons and your boundaries and won’t give a shit about how you feel. You are exposed on merb while I can hide behind the anonymity of my handle and I can screw your reputation over if you don’t do what I asked. I paid, I can do whatever I want and write whatever I want after if I’m not fully satisfied)
Me: “k”

while it is true that a merb user can write whatever he wants, it is still one review out of many and I believe most of the clients will look at the general picture instead of focusing on one single review.

Jesus. Lol. I know some mention they review when seeing someone, but I didn’t know they included it in their intro. That’s so freaking lame, and I highly doubt it results in better attitude or service. The best service to me is an eager stress free lady who seems genuinely to be enjoying herself.

Well when some of the girls I met after a few minutes of conversation I tell them unless you allow me to set her hair on fire and rub chia pet afterwards on her shaved coochie I am not going to write a review.

This is why I don't write reviews unless she is absolutely a shit person or some other lie like really aged pics (Kelly of WildTime) and not because of bad chemistry but she is well a shit person to serve as a warning to others. Personally I just feel that a GENUINE bad review is worth many times more than some glowing one. Honestly many of the girls I saw don't need another review from me because she already has five pages of mostly positives. I mean does she need another one? Or do you guys want to read the 20th time she does CIM and takes it up the butt?

No need to be difficult in this hobby and especially for Montreal. She is going to show you a good time and if the stars are aligned a memorable one. Just be a good person, treat her right, be clean a major plus if you are fit you don't need "threats."

I have been informed by multiple sp’s that certain MERB members exploit their status to retaliate with negative reviews when unsatisfied with the service provided. From what I understand, SP’S are not fond of interacting with individuals who are part of the MERB community. It's truly unfortunate That many members feel compelled to rely on their MERB status in order to receive satisfactory service . The situation is reflecting poorly on the members of the MERB community. That is extremely disappointing. In my opinion, Individuals who exploit Merb status to receive superior service or to hold it against a service provider ought to be prohibited from using Merb. This behavior is unacceptable and I am inclined to think that it goes against the guidelines set by Merb. Individuals found violating the policy must undergo a ban for life and be exposed.

A real reviewer should remain “anonymous”
Pre internet, prestigious restaurant critics were unknown or went in disguise.

I too have heard that from many SP's. I do not mention I am on MERB. I'll always ask if she wants a review and if she says no I'll respect it.

You did the right thing. There’s nothing wrong being on merb. Saying it right off the bat usually a red flag for us.
The first sentence you can say to someone meeting the first time can be anything but “hi I’m John, I saw your reviews on merb”
Have a good evening
