Just want to add my two cents to what Kyla was saying. My current regular friend is asked SO often, and right away intimate details about their family history, reasons for dong the work, etc... I just would like to say to the guys: cut it out! Be with the person, enjoy them, that is what you are there for. If, in the course of the evening, or in the course of many many meetings, they open up to you, that's fine. But remember to treat their feelings with care when you are allowed the privilege of knowing them better.
I know we are all curious, but it's inappropriate to get too personal with a provider, especially if you are just seeing them once. Try some small talk, complements, anything but prying into their lives.
I have met so many wonderful people in my time with providers, and have become close with a couple over time. It is a blessing, and cannot be rushed.
