I left a few text messages to several SP found on LL in order to set up an appointment. The "Inspector Louis Saint-Martin" (phone no ending with -3735) phoned me last night to inquire if I used LL. I said Yes. He then told me that an SP made a mistake typing her cell no for the ad & that a little girl was getting all these weird messages. The mother was very upset & she wanted to press charges. "Inspector Saint-Louis" then asked me to phone the "mother" (Mrs Lessard with phone number ending with "-6336") to calm her down. He would check with her to make sure I contacted her.

I phoned her (yes, I know...). "Mrs Lessard" told me that her daughter was very troubled. She wanted to launch legal actions, but too costly. Can we then come to a financial agreement? Ding, ding, I finally woke up & hung up.

Careful, this guy is really convincing! GEEZ

Damn, I would be freaked out too if the “police” contacted me about my calls to an escort. These scam artists are counting on us panicking & agreeing to whatever they want. Once they get hold of your number, the scam calls will never end.

Suspect that most of these calls are done by sophisticated syndicates. Low risk & high reward for them.

Post the number of this scammer please. Not just the last 4 digits. You need to post the number of the ad on LL. It is a review if you found out it is a scam! Mods? Agree on this?

May be touchy since the OP said "left a few text messages to several SP", so may be hard for him to pin-point which ad it may be.

Then again they change numbers so often making it even harder to track.

Often times, victim numbers are also compiled into call lists and sold to various syndicates. They also have bots that make calls to verify whether the number is ‘live’? The technologies improve by the day.

I have spoken to friends in LE & they tell me that the victims are often surprisingly educated & tech savvy. All these scammers need, is to catch any of us in a vulnerable moment & boom!!! Bye bye money.

I do not know exactly which ad they use to scam me. I sent several text messages.
There is a similar experience reported with this thread: https://merb.cc/xenforo/threads/numero-masqué-enqueteur.207663/
Sorry I missed it before typing this report.
Some peoples stated that I should 'wise up'... When you are 'under the gun', I would like to see how they actually react, instead of issuing comments, confortably seated in their lazy boy!
I reported this scam to hopefully prevent future slip-up from fellow hobbyist.

Impersonating a police officer is a serious offence.
Tell the real police and they will be right on this.

Lol they don't even change the name of the scams. I was like "didn't i read this thread not long ago... but its dated to this past wednesday"... LOL that explain why.

Since i already replied in the other threads in details i won't be too long on this one, but scams are just everywhere these days. Couple days ago i receive a text message saying i was billed roughly 20$ too much on my last SAAQ bill, and they were refunding it to me with a link to click. Yeah well, i own no car ... LOL !!!

I get some from paypal impersonification at times too. They are everywhere. They usually rely on either fear (like the post here) or your greed of getting money. Even if its just a small ammount, some could say "hey 20$... its 20$ ill take it". I didn't click the link so no idea what was the rest of the scam, but i assume they would had ask for bank infos etc
