Dangerous game for the Saints. The Cowboys play well in Dallas and have played well of late. The offense has gotten better as the season has worn on. The Saints secondary has some issues and is something of a weakness.

Complete domination by the Cowbows.....ver very agressive and good defensively.....very poor performance by Drew and teamates....bad-costly interception late in 4th quarter.....all and all a very bad game for the Saints...it could happen in an entire season.

I was very impressed by Cowboys defense, their linebacker play in particular. Cowboys LBs identify holes quickly, are fast in getting to the spots they need to get to, and most importantly they are sure tacklers! The Cowboys DL also had good pressure on Brees all game.

This game would have been around 23-3 Cowboys if not for some bad penalties by Gregory and Jones. Jones is a UConn guy by the way and one of the best athletes, if not the best athlete, at the DB position in the NFL and the UConn community is very proud of him. However last night he was constantly interfering with Michael Thomas. A few times it wasn’t necessary because Brees didn’t have time and Thomas wasn’t that open. Thomas was over-respected. I thought Jones should just have defended him straight up. Penalties were the only disappointing part of Cowboys performance last night, that and the Prescott fumble which was totally unnecessary if he is using correct pocket ball security technique.

I really feel sorry for every member of the Chiefs team who were let down by their teammate. The Chiefs second leading rusher is Mahomes. They got nothing at RB now.

Yeah me too. So dumb.

I have zero sympathy for any player didn't learn the lesson from a few seasons ago: keep your head down and don't kill a golden opportunity with off-the-field issues. Even the league minimum is more than most people make. While Hunt didn't cold cock a woman like Ray Rice did, it was still bad and both have the common fatal flaw of having their acts caught on tape.

The fact that it was caught on tape is likely the overriding PR problem and Cover Your Ass handwringing here. For the better part of its history, the NFL has been mostly indifferent to domestic violence. Hell, they knew about this in February. And it was only last week that the Redskins had no problem signing a guy that was cut because of domestic violence.

Derrick Henry had the best game by a RB in the NFL last night. On this 99 yard TD run which I video-linked below, observe the stiff arm on Bouye (#21) and the stiff arm and thrown down on LB Jacobs (#48). He simply assaulted these guys. Henry also had a 54 yard TD on which he ran by a bunch of guys totally untouched at max speed of 21.74 mph and 4 TDs total:

A beast!!!!!!!!

Another crazy, memorable and fun Sunday......and the best ending was in Miami.

MIAMI 34 NE 33.......a miracle in Miami...with 7 sec.to play....an incredible play by Dolphins...pass wth laterals to score the winning one....what a play.....the play of the year....you have to see it....unbelievable.

CHIEFS 27 RAV 24....another great performance and win in OT for MAHOMES.....what a play he did with 1m17 left in final quarter to tie the game.....24-24....and they won on a very bad turnover by the qb.

And of course SAINTS 28--BUCC 14......first half was bad BUT they comeback strong in 4th quarter to finally win......no reason to lose that one.

Here is the Dolphins video in slow motion. Gronkowski is the last guy with a shot at tackling Drake but he trips as he changes direction. If he hadn’t tripped he would have tackled Drake at the 1 yard line or shoved him out of bounds and the Pats would have won:

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=9PrOKpb-JqQ

Gronk was on the field only because he was assigned to protect the end zone in the event of the expected Hail Mary pass heaved into end zone. The Pats did not expect him to have to tackle a streaking runner.......despite this if he doesn't trip, Drake is shoved out of bounds at the 1 and Patriots win 33-28.

Honestly don't think it matters much that he tripped. Gronk is a tall guy brought in by Belichick to knock down a Hail Mary pass. Gronk can't outrun a streaking RB as you said. Coaching is to blame for the loss (and Gostkowski missing a FG). A safety would have caught Drake. Either way, it added to a really satisfying NFL week.

The season is almost over and Mahomes is still playing live NFL games like a game of Madden. He definitely deserves the MVP. This isn't to crown him because one season doesn't make one a great (see Carson Wentz and Deshaun Watson as recent examples of how lights-out play can be quickly followed with an average season), but he's definitely owned this season.

Most definitely a coaching blunder on the part of Belichick that cost New England the game. Even the greats of he’s caliber are not immune to this.We have seen it happen in every sport be it baseball, basketball or soccer in some form or another. Some times not much separating these competing teams .Coaches try to get an edge, advantage ( in this case Gronk replacing a shorter defender)however small it may seem and by doing so they end up outwitting themselves. In this case disregarding and forgetting basic fundamentals of the game .Elementary things like your defenders play defence and tight ends not so much ...
Makes you kind of wonder once more what was behind he’s reasoning when he benched Butler at the super bowl.
We can all agree had he left the safety in that most probably the Miami running back whoudnt have reached the end zone as time expired in such a dramatic ending to the game. But I guess that’s why we love sports .

As for the kind of season Mahomes is having can’t really say that I saw it coming, especially from a rookie quarterback.
When Alex Smith was traded I had the Chargers running away with the division and didn’t even think that Kansas whould make the playoffs this year.My reasoning being that all rookies have to go through growing pains before they learn how to win no matter how talented. But it’s hard to gauge these things sometimes so in the end what did I know? Not only have they punched their postseason ticket but they are also one of the favourites for the super bowl.

I guess I underestimated Reid’s coaching ability , they definitely seem to be a great fit together. And he has proven to be a nightmare for defenders with he’s strong accurate arm aswell as making plays with he’s feet when needed, also blessed with great instincts so he’s decision making has been spot on.I believe he played college baseball aswell just like Wilson so that background definitely has helped him. So I definitely agree barring any major collapse (only three games remaining) that he is deserving of mvp candidate for the season he’s had.In the end defences always catch up but perhaps not until they have completely dissected and film studied he’s game which could possibly take until next season? So I find myself rooting for this new born star to continue to do well.Definitely like he’s game , he’s confidence on the field but at the same time you sense from he’s interviews a maturity and humility and that he’s current success hasn’t gone to he’s head,, so all in all Mahomes seems like a good teammate and a good decent kid.

One things for sure there is no clear favourite this year and there is enough parity in the league to see any team lift the Lombardi trophy. So with three games remaining before the playoffs things are about to get interesting. Indeed a fun end to the season...

Looks like the Chargers are about to make there second comeback in a row. Gutsy call on the part of Lynn deciding to roll the dice on the 2pt. conversion. Even more impressive is that they did it on a short week in one of the most hostile environments in the league.Still two games left to decide the division after splitting the series between them tonight.
After being criticized for being soft in the past this Chargers team has shown a lot of resiliency and fight to win games when trailing as of late .The NFL has taken notice, now let’s see how far they can go .

Their weakness is they need to protect Rivers. In the playoffs they will see other teams that will harass Rivers. Once Rivers is flushed from pocket he loses effectiveness. With pressure up the middle he is dead meat. He is also very slow escaping pressure even by 38 year old QB standards.

Yes your assessment of Rivers is spot on. And when that happens I find he’s games really hard to watch.
