According to the article, the main ring leader accused is a guy named "Sam".

I did see that. But honestly, I met Sam (offered him a dinner steak once) and did not recognize him at all from the pics. I think it`s a different Sam. Could be wrong.

Indeed i met him in parties, same with James (but at the time James was already a GG booker). Sam always appeared like a nice guy at said party and gave the impression he wanted to make a good agency for both SPs and clients. This is the feeling i had AT THE TIME. That said i would disagree with the last part. I wasn't "that close" to Sam. We met in parties and yes he always gave me great services during the XO early years, but thats as far as it got.

Sorry I thought it was XO and not WT that you worked for as a booker for a short time. I am mixing up the agencies.

My memories of Sam at the parties are exactly the same as yours. I had some conversations with him, just chit chat. But I had the same impressions of him as you did.

Je comprends que tu veuilles défendre l’industrie, mais ça ne veut pas dire qu’il faut remettre en question ou minimiser ce que d’autres filles ont vécu.

Le problème dans ce thread, c’est justement que certaines expériences sont mises de côté simplement parce que d’autres ne les ont pas vues ou vécues.

Pourtant, des situations difficiles, ça arrive partout, j’en ai vécu moi-même dans plusieurs endroits (agressions, condom brisé, clients qui ne respectent pas, clients qui partent sans payer, client qui OD dans la chambre … et etc.), et malgré ça on devait continuer à travailler comme si de rien n’était.

Même quand un client partait avec l’argent après l’acte, il m’est arrivé de devoir quand même payer ma cut et ça, je l’ai vécu à plusieurs endroits.

Donc oui, toutes les agences ne sont pas pareilles, mais ignorer des expériences simplement parce qu’on ne les a pas vues, c’est exactement comme ça que certaines réalités restent invisibles.

Au final, personne n’a la vision complète, donc c’est important de laisser de la place à toutes les voix.

I am the problem.
To some extent I will always feel that I am using women by paying them and I am not 100% comfortable with the fact that they are half my age also.
I have children that age, would I want someone paying one of them to sleep with them , hell no.
There you have it, it is not so simple to be a client also.

why does this debate always come down to the same old tropes. If you are respectful, clean, polite, not too demanding (and a tip is always appreciated), it is a win-win. You are not "using" a woman. She made herself available, for a price, under certain conditions, and if you respect those conditions, she is happy. That is not the difinition of "using someone".

i started a thread a week ago about the advertizements of "buying sexual services is illegal", the thread degraded into a flame war, then suddenly the thread was gone. No warning, no nothing. Honestly it must have become impossible to moderate this forum, too much volume, the mods must have to cut corners to survive lol

I don’t necessarily disagree with you.
It is hard to explain.
I spent over 35 years with the woman of my dreams I never expected to lose her to cancer so seeing escorts was never in my plans or on my radar.
It is still hard to adjust and not think that paying someone for sex is not somehow contributing to using women.
I know the ladies I am seeing are happy and don’t take it that way otherwise they wouldn’t be seeing me for over 8 years and they wouldn’t consider me as a friend.
As far as being polite treating them with kindness and respect that has never been an issue and that is the least that every woman deserves.

Plus you don’t have the slightest feeling of uneasiness when seeing a women half your age who is the same age as your children, because I do.no matter how many times I tell myself exactly what you have just said.

I wonder what happened to the original poster. They dropped a bomb and fled the scene, never to be seen or heard from again.

The thread has become nothing more than a vehicle for the cast of characters on Merb to vent their rage and point fingers at one another. Entertainment at its finest and very informative about the character of many Merbites.

I am confident the original poster is sitting back with some popcorn and beer and enjoying the spectacle this thread has become.
