BOYZZZ!

Joe.t...men take on people face to face, not when they are helpless to respond. Try it.

Mets 8 Yankees 2. I've always liked the Mets, even more so when they spank the Yanks. Even so I had to check the box score to see what had happened. Ahhhhh the answer: C.C. Sabathia...LOL! He gave up 7 earned runs in 5 innings and not cheaply. Three booming home runs led the way to help raise his ERA to a ballooned 5.96. How much are they paying this guy? OUCH! $23 million this year and $25 million for the next two years as his skills deteriorate more rapidly. COOL! To top it off they were filling the house that Ruth didn't build with chants of "LET'S GO METS". :thumb:

http://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/mlb...k-yankees/game-center/sp-id-40401000001500214

NEW YORK — CC Sabathia had said he wouldn't feel any extra excitement in facing Matt Harvey.

Good thing he didn't get his hopes up.

Sabathia got outdueled by Harvey before a packed Yankee Stadium Saturday. By the time he left, the Yankees were losing to the Mets, 6-1, and Sabathia deserved much, if not all, of the blame.

Sabathia surrendered six runs on nine hits and no walks while striking out two in five innings. He threw 87 pitches, one which hit a batter.

Chants of "Let's go Mets!" filled the stadium several times while Sabathia was on the mound, the latest after Eric Campbell hit the Mets' third homer — a solo shot — off the 34-year-old to make it 6-1.

The box score says Cheeseburger Cheeseburger gave up 7 not 6.

Cheers,

Merlot

Matt Harvey pitched a very good game today, but it was against the Yankees (whom i've picked to finish last) and let's face it, anybody could have beaten Sabathia, who's on a serious career decline.

Tampa continues to surprise me. And once again, the Toronto bullpen let them down again. The Jays need to make a trade for a closer. Maybe Papelbon would be worth it, even though he's very expensive.

As for the Red Sox, i'm picking them to lose against the Orioles tonight. The Sox are nothing but a .500 team, at best. And surprise-surprise, Shane Victorino is back on the DL again! Unreal!

Why do I feel like I just stepped in it ?

Wipe it off or keep it if you like. I have nothing against the Mets. We beat ourselves in '86' and gave them a gift. Sorry they don't have more championships. Since then we have 3 Championships and humiliated the Yanks in the GREATEST COMEBACK EVAH against the great Mariano Rivera.

A 3-0 ALCS lead and Rivera BLOWS IT twice. What's not to LOVE!!! :D :thumb:

They could very well be a .500 team as I have already alluded to. I like Shane Victorino. He was incredible in 2013 and we owe him much for the gift Championship. I'm sorry to see him not doing well and being hurt. Still, I am tired of the team playing him for trade bait purposes when better players have had to sit. Though it makes things harder to get anything for him being on the DL is to the team's performance benefit. Victorino wasn't helping his value anyway. But good luck to him in the future. Boston fans still love him.

Cheers BOYZ,

You picked the Yankees to finish last? Any team in the AL East division can finish last and not out by many games. There is a 3 way tie for first and the last place team, at the moment Baltimore after they beat the Very Very Light hitting Red Sox 5-4, in extra innings, is only 2 games out.

It will be a cat and dog race to the finish with probably no dominant team. But the season is only 3 weeks old and 162 games is a lot of games. You can't predict any one game based on what you think the season will be.

The Yankees also are beating the pants off of the Red Sox in two very important categories, team ERA and BA, the Yankees are also tied for the lead league in HR, so much for the light, light, light hitting Yankees and if this continues a certain delusional individual will never come out of his hole.

Recent sighting of the well known delusional individual.

Mark Teixeira is 2nd in the majors in HR with 8 and 2nd in RBI with 18. He is looking far from washed up as someone, somewhere has said.

In comparison, Panda, aka Pablo Sandoval has 0 HR, count them a big 0 HR in the 15 games he has played in 2015. Not much for his $17,600,000 $alary. You think that Boston is getting their money's worth?

By the way Joe, who is that masked man down in the pit?

For the record, the Panda is currently 0-for-17 against lefties. Word around Boston is that the worse manager in baseball is now considering platooning him.

Is it safe to say that there is a slaughter happening in Baltimore as we speak?, I'm just dying to see the Red Sox team ERA at the conclusion of today's game.

BTW- Congrats to Spanky on hitting his first HR of the season, at this rate he will hit maybe 10 for the year unless as Doc stated he is going to be platooned at which case he will probably hit 5, this looks like Carl Crawford written all over again, you guys remember what happened to king Carl in Boston.

Nah, I think Panda will get a 4 year extension to his contract for hitting the HR today and a bonus when he hits his second HR. Instead of Boston losing 18 or more to 0, the Red Hosers lost a somewhat respectable 18 or more to 4.

The Orioles through 7 innings have scored in every inning except the first. Well, I picked the Red Sox to lose today because I picked the Red Sox to finish in last place right now. They are a shoe in.

What a game buy the socks starter, Guy Smiley today! 7 runs in 2ip in another stellar outing by a socks starter. I commented a day or so ago that Mets fans likely wished the season was just 20 games long because they are playing some great baseball but me thinks the rouge hoser fans wish the season was just 20 games as well, for completely oppposite reasons lol.

I think the 2015 rEd socks are gonna keep us entertained all season long, that and many crickets around here from their fans

More like 10 games ... The Red Socks have played 19 games and are a game over .500. The way they are playing now, don't expect them to be over .500 much longer.

I was going through the Red Sox lineup as i was witnessing the Massacre at Camden Yards. There are a lot of stinkers in that lineup:

Mookie Betts. Leadoff hitter hitting only .189

Daniel Nava. Terrible hitter hitting only .188

Pablo Sandoval. A heart attack waiting to happen. Can't hit lefthanders.

Mike Napoli. Notorious for poor off-season habits. Allergic to working out. Loves food & loves to party with pornstars. Hitting an embarrassing .169

Allen Craig. St-Louis overjoyed to ship his lazy ass to Boston. Hitting a miserable .129

David Ortiz. Biggest whiner & overrated player MLB is hitting below the Mendoza line at .194. He's old, fat, and over-the-hill. He should hang up his spikes & spare his legacy of future embarrassment.

The catchers: Never heard of any of them. Maybe they should get Carlton Fisk out of retirement.

The pitchers: Rick Porcello, Wade Miley, Clay Bucholz, Justin Masterson. All disappointments. They stink. Drastic improvements required a.s.a.p. if the Sox are to be taken seriously.

John Farrell. The worse manager in MLB. Has no clue what he's doing. A nice guy. But nice guys finish last.

Indeed, i may be proven wrong with my previous prediction. But the big question is: will the worse manager in baseball, John Farrell, survive the season?

Well, I don't know how many Wins Over Replacement a manager figures into the mix. Here is an article which is entitled: Most Managers Are Headed to the Hall of Mediocrity. Guess who's picture they have in the article:

http://fivethirtyeight.com/features/most-managers-are-headed-to-the-hall-of-mediocrity/

Anyhow, at the moment the Tampa Rays are in first place. The Orioles just haven beaten the Red Sox 18-7 (is that a football score?) are in last place. The Orioles trail the Rays by a mere 2 games. Everyone else is in between. I reckon that this will be the story for most of the season except for the Red Sox who will finish last unless they get a hot streak somehow.

I expect that there will be articles written about how bad the Red Sox really are and how they fooled the baseball writers into thinking that the Red Sox were good. The Red Sox bought a few mediocre players, paid really big bucks and the rest is playing out.

Updated team ERA standings, Boston now an embarrassing, pathetic, mind boggling 29 out of 30 in MLB, every indication is pointing to first to last and to last again, Farrell to be the first manager fired(IMHO), did I mention embarrassing.

http://mlb.mlb.com/stats/sortable.j...=st&statType=pitching&page=1&ts=1430092917666

Only Baltimore has a worse team ERA by 0.04 runs. Maybe that explains how Boston was able to get 7 runs in the blowout? Whatever, it is not going to be pretty for the Red Sox fans.

Keep an eye on starter Chris Archer of the Rays. He has not allowed an earned run in 4 games and has given up only 1 run, which was unearned. He has given up 3 earned runs all season in 32 innings of pitching. His ERA is 0.84.

Keep an eye on Andrew Miller and Dellin Betances both Yankee pitchers with a very impressive and astonishing ERA of 0.00, especially Miller who is fitting in nicely as the Yankee closer, I'm sure Boston is wishing that they still had him in their rotation.

Also for you stat freaks, the Yankees are now officially ahead of Boston not only in team ERA and BA but also in the standings, keep in mind that it is still early in the season so there is still hope for the Red Sox, I think.
