Long time Boston sports writer and current Boston Globe writer Dan Shaughnessy blasts the Red Sox saying that they were lucky to win in 2013 and actually have been bad for the past 10 years!!!, criticizes the organisation for heavy usage of Sabremetrics(I used to remember a blow hard here on MERB who used to always refer to this overrated useless tool), Also according to the Providence Journal, the 2015 Red Sox are Boston's worst baseball team since 1960 in the area of run differential – minus 48 after 51 games.

http://www.nj.com/yankees/index.ssf/2015/06/boston_globe_columnist_the_red_sox_stink.html.

NEW YORK — The Boston Red Sox won the World Series in 2013 (in no small thanks to current Yankee Jacoby Ellsbury) but at least one writer feels it was a fluke and that the team is lousy now, has been for a while, and has no real hope to change in the near future.

I named them the Boston Fluke last year. This guy backs me up.

Lack of Detroit bullpen pitching and the fact that Big Poopie eats Detroit bullpen pitching really helped them beat Detroit in the ALCS.

How many of these pitchers that are eligible are in the Hall of Fame? I don't thin Sam McDowell is and I am pretty sure that Mickey Lolich is not. Lolich should be in. He won three games in the 68 WS in a come from behind series win against Bob Gibson and the Cardinals.

The Jays play the first game of a three-game series against the hated Yankees tonight at the Rogers Centre. Ace David Price will start for the Jays. He pitched absolutely brilliantly in his first two starts for the Jays. Last weekend, the Jays swept the Yankees at Yankee Stadium and will be poised to repeat the accomplishment this weekend on their home turf.

The Yankees snapped their 6-game losing streak last night, barely beating the lowly Cleveland Indians. The Jays meanwhile are on a current 11-game winning streak, their second such streak of the current season.

On another note, the Jays were asked to release Joba Chamberlain from his minor league contract and agreed to his request.

The Jays have also approached former Tiger GM Dave Dombrowski about possibly becoming the next president of the team once current President Paul Beeston retires. Beeston will retire at the end of the season and many believe Dombrowski would be a perfect fit in Toronto.

I took the tie on my pro line ticket for tonight(meaning that the game will be decided by 1 run by either team), I'm predicting that Nova who has pitched pretty good since he has come back from Tommy John will be "LIGHTS OUT" tonight, I'm also predicting that the Yankees will take the series.

Are you trying to be the master of cliches and the dunce of truth, Doc? You make me laugh.

Now, why are the Yanks the hated Yanks?

Because they are known to buy players when George Steinbrenner was alive?

Well, looking at the Blue Jays starting line up tonight, looks like the Blue Jays have open their wallets even though the US Canadian exchange rate is so bad for Canada:

Troy TULOWITZKI SS from Colorado 2015, 20 Million
Josh DONALDSON 3B from Oakland 2015, 4.3 Million
Jose BAUTISTA RF from Pittsburgh 2008, 14 Million
Edwin ENCARNACION from Cincinnati 2009, 10 Million
Justin SMOAK 1B from Seattle 2014, 1 Million
Russell MARTIN C from Free Agent 2015 from Pittsburgh, 7 Million
R. GOINS 2B Home Grown Blue Jays Prospect
K. PILLAR CF Home Grown Blue Jays Prospect, 500,000
B. REVERE LF from Philadelphia, 2015, 4.1 Million
David Price, P, from Detroit 2015, 19.75 Million

The Jays have spent 55 Million in 2015 for Tulowitzki, Martin, Price, Revere and Donaldson. They probably got their money's worth, but the Blue Jays are spending some $ for the stretch. So exactly why are the Yankees hated in 2015?

I wagered $1000 with a friend of mine that the Jays would win the series. We decided on a $500 bonus if either team swept. It should be an interesting weekend of baseball. :D

Looks like a risky bet, Doc.

What a statement win for the Yankees this afternoon in Toronto! Anyone who does not believe Mashahiro Tanaka is not one of the best pitchers in the game is off their rocker. What a terrific performance by #19, shutting down the best lineup in hitters 1-9 in the game of baseball today.

The Yanks have brought the Blue Jays back down to earth and worked their way out of a slump, something i said good teams will do and the Yankees are definately a very good team with loads of talent and i stand by their decision to NOT trade away the future like so many teams did at the deadline. The Yanks are set up very nicely for the next several years with their top prospects coming to replace the older vets who will be playing their final days in pinstripes in the next 1-2 seasons. The new generation of Yankees are upon us boyzzzz, :)

The only sad thing for me today was my good buddy lost some cha-ching! Sorry MISTER Holliday.

It could be a few more $ if the Yankees sweep tomorrow.

I agree, Tanaka was overpowering. His complete game victory gave the bullpen a much needed rest. It's going to be a race to the finish. The Yanks had a cold streak, but they are definitely are leading the pack.

Tomorrow is Rookie Luis Serverino vs. Drew Hutchison. Hutchison has an 11-2 record but a high ERA 5.26 and WHIP 1.48. So if Serverino pitches as well as he has in the first 2 games, 2.45 ERA and 0.91 WHIP, the Yanks will sweep.

John Farrell Manager of the much hated Rogue Hosers (Red Sox) was diagnosed with Stage 1 Lymphoma, so he is planning to be back next year. But look what the Red Sox are doing to the Seattle Mariners. The Rogue Hosers beat the Mariners 15-1 yesterday and are ahead in the 8th 19-6. It's like someone took away the Red Sox's clubhouse beer and they are taking it out on Seattle.

It doesn't help the Red Sox fans any as they are still 12 1/2 games behind the FIRST PLACE NEW YORK YANKEES.

Lolich, Jack Morris, Verlander were the best Tigers pitchers I have ever seen. Of course Fidrych had a very special year and an All-Star game start but he was injured.

Lolich's Career WAR as a Tiger (47.5) would be better than any Met pitcher ever with the exception of Tom Terrific who had an incredible WAR of 76.1

Oh, there's still a lot more where it came from. No worries and i always find a way to get my money back! ;)

Kudos to the Yankees for being resilient in coming back Friday night. Gibbons probably kept Price in the game 1-2 batters too long, but hindsight is 20/20.

Today the Jays come back with their worst pitcher, Drew Hutchison. I don't know of a pitcher who's had more run support throughout the season. He's been nearly unbeatable at home....thanks to the aforementionned massive run support he's received.

By the way, i wish John Farrell the best of luck and a speedy recovery. May he keep his job with the Red Sox next season. I'd rather face the Red Sox with John Farrell managing them than anyone else.

Jays beat Yankees 3-1 behind brilliant pitching performance by Drew Hutchison

Jose Bautista's two-run homerun was the difference. The Jays now trail the Yankees by only 1/2 game.

The doc also cut his weekend losses by winning $800 today!! Ka-ching!!!! Thank you, Blue Jays!!!! :D

CC Sabathia involved in Toronto street fight last Friday night

Yankees management isn't very happy with CC Sabathia after a street fight Friday evening in Toronto outside a club. I just saw Joe Girardi's press conference about the incident and he didn't look very pleased at Sabathia's lack of judgement:
