its the involvement of the West into conflicts that they should stay out of that breeds this sentiment of hatred which led to a whole lot of crap.

I agree. It reminds me of how the War of Independance started. The Americans felt the British had no business being on this side of the Atlantic and dictating how they should live. Then the 'insurgents', as the brits liked to call the revolutionaries, fought back in various creative ways in order to kick the brits out of the country and all hell broke loose. And the Americans won the war, kicking the British out of their country for good.

As the ol' saying goes, for every terrorist or extremist that you kill, you create 10 more. Are bombings the answer? That's debatable. If i look at history, my gut-feeling tells me that it's not. It only makes things worse than they already are.

Raids in 3 Belgium Homes....

Paris (CNN) said:
ISIS has claimed responsibility for the worst violence witnessed in France since World War II, a volley of nearly simultaneous terror attacks that the French President called "an act of war."

Meanwhile, investigators' response expanded beyond France as Belgian authorities conducted raids in a Brussels suburb, including one connected to the Paris attacks, a Western intelligence source told CNN on Saturday.

The raids took place in three homes in Molenbeek-Saint-Jean, according to the source, who is in contact with French and Belgian intelligence services. One raid is connected to the Paris attacks, and the others to individuals known to Belgium intelligence, the source said. Some of the Paris attackers are also known to Belgium intelligence, the source added.

we live on a continent surrounded by a whole lot of water.

google 911, twin towers new york

involvment? how are the french involved? they kept their military out. is everyone supposed to shut up about terrorism to avoid attention. give up on oil. let terrorists take control and build huge weapons stockpiles. nuclear weapons.

you're right though. it has to be done from within their own.

the twin towers attack was and is a great tragedy but what happened after that was more security and rethinking everything and thats perfectly fine. and thats what Canada should be doing. tightening everything to a level safe enough

France is involved in the air strikes. what is happening is retaliation and provocation too.

we're not supposed to shut up about terrorism but we shouldn't use our rage to go all out. its going to lead to more crap down the road. its a vicious cycle and we should do everything to not go down that path ever again. humanity should evolve by learning from its past mistakes. we should protect ourselves, our land, we should get ready in case it spills out but we shouldn't get involved in something that is not ours. the ME's been at each other throats for hundreds if not thousand of years. at some point, they have to do something about it.

as a country, we should put pressure and more pressure to get them to do something but we shouldn't be fighting their fight

It was a huge mistake made by western countries to remove or let “revolutions” depose secular dictators from Middle East countries: Iranian Shah, Afghanistan’s king, Saddam Hussein, Kaddafi, etc and now Assad. There is no democratic culture to fill the vacuum, only radical Islam. Regrettably, the only way now to contain this scourge is to re-introduce brutal secular police states in the Middle East as all attempts to jump from Middle Ages to modern western type democracy would definitely fail. Egypt with Al-Sisi is a good example of the way how to do it…

Do we really want to invite this garbage to North America. Liberals will say it's only a few Muslim Extremists who are doing the bombing - which may be the case. Only a small percentage of Germans were actually participating in the extermination in WWII. SHARIA Law is inseparable from Islam. Essentially anyone who is a follower of Islam must adhere to the literal teaching of the Quran as told to Muhammed and the Hadith which is basically teachings of Muhammed during his lifetime. You will never find a religious leader of Islam or Imam who will reject the literal teaching of the Quran or Hadith which is Sharia Law. The 6th Pillar of Islam is Jihad against non-believers. Most Muslims will reject the killing of innocents but if they are practitioners of Islam they cannot reject SHARIA.
BELGIUM/Belgistan is already lost to these fanatics.

There is no easy answer - but it's certainly not to appease this radical/intolerant religion.

So it’s OK as soon as they are killing only Jews ? Thus welcome back to Nazis… next is your turn…

I'm not saying it's ok to kill jews, i'm just saying Sunni terrorists are the worst of their kind.
ISIS, Al qaeda and talibans are all sunnites groups. You just won't see the hezbollah or some Iranian sponsored groups do crazy shit like the Paris attack.

pretty much.
democracy may one day work in muslim states but it'll take generations and generations to undo thousands of years of way of living and it'll have to come from within, not from outside interference

We should try to reaason with them and we should be apologetic. After all they are probably just angry over Bush. violence just begets more violence....hey, maybe if we empty GITMO this will appease them? Lets not get on our high horse. I know that all Muslims are not terrorists. And if you look hard you can even find one that is not a terrorist or a terrorist in the making. Now let's accept those refugees with open arms. Think of all those innocent children...like those two brothers that planted the bombs at the Boston Marathon...they cam over here as innocent children and then they heard the call of Allah.

Bullshit! Fight them like we fought Japan. They had a crazy fucked up religion too. Fight them like we fought Germany. There will be collateral damage. If they kill one of us kill their entire family or their entire village. Fuck em!

and this is exactly what ISIS wants, a full on war where they have nothing to lose and everything to gain. they already gave their life away to kill and blow themselves up. this is not the same thing as WW2 where it was the eradication of one race and what ensue was simply horror.

what's happening now is because of western civilizations involvement in something they shouldn't have. all further involvement is going to create more radical cells. so what if ISIS is obliterate? another group is going to take their place and we're back to square one.

killing a whole civilization is not going to do shit. so no more muslims? we ain't no better than nazis then

you know how fuck up it is? there's no simple solution to a very complex situation

Good thing you guys weren't around during WWII. We could of reasoned with the Nazi's and Japanese...put ourselves in their shoes, right? Yep, the world would be better off without this fucked up religion.

Just ignore them. Ignore them and they will go away.

No, I believe in giving people what they want. If they want martyrdom than lets give it to them in a big way.

Germany and less Japan was existential threat. ISIS? Not so much, this is why we see the half-ass job in fighting it. The only people who are serious and fight for their dear life with all this scum are Israelis because it is existential threat for them. But there are some miscalculations by the western governing elite as we will see very soon with Marine Le Pen elected the next President of France

There are over 5000 suspected jihadists in France alone. There's no way to monitor them all. What's the solution?

@doc:

that's a problem France has to tackle. we can offer help but they have to get down to it and rethink their way of doing things especially their relationship with the north african population. those cités in France, its bad and its a breeding ground for hatred and all that. there's a big sense of exclusion amongst the muslim population in France and France doesn't do much to integrate them (and vice versa) and its no wonder that this kind of tragedy happens.

and Europe has to rethink their border free thing. when you can coast to coast in Europe without being stop, it invites problems, eventually

They then proceeded to destroy every mosque that had been built.

Your statement is very inaccurate.

These tragedies bring out so much hate. Unsurprising but extremely warping. Giving Isis what they want, hate, revenge, religious genocide, making more Isis. Is that good Christian logic?

Good Christian logic ?
Do you include the Crusades, Spanish inquisition....how about the Protestant vs Catholic wars in Ireland?
MOST RELIGIONS , historically speaking, have no logic.
