FALSE a test just say that you were ok for HIV 3 months before the test as, as stated before, it takes up to 3 months for antibodies against HIV to be detectable. For other common STD, the negative results just testify that you were ok the day the samples were taken. So much safer doesn't mean a lot, specially if one had unprotected sex between the day of sampling and the one of the results. So, TRUE, being tested regularly is better than no test or once a year but is in no way a warranty of anything. Much better? I don't think so. I don't want to start a fight with anybody here, just let us be realistic and objective.

That is why (regarding HIV) doctors recommend to new stable couples to play safe for 3 months, than get tested and continue to play safe until the results are known an hopefully negative. After it is a question of trust.

I'm not saying it's a warranty of anything! Being sexually active is a risk in itself, so the best we can do is get tested regularly :) that's all I was saying :)

Rose, I would just say that having a somewhat civil, "adult" conversation about STD's, risks, and precautions with a lady is so refreshing! In the US, if you even mention "STD" in a thread your are banned for life from posting - primarily because the US board mods have a vested interest in keeping their diseased, drug addicted "employees" on the streets as much as possible!

I'm a healh care professional, and guess what, I work in STD prevention and testing. So let's just debunk a few myths:BTW, talking here at intercourse without condoms.

Kissing: Very low risk of infections IF there are no lesions in mouth.

Oral sex performed on female: Very low risk of anything besides herpes, and syphillis is possible, as is gono and chlam. Herpes, not dangerous per say, but not curable and kind of embarassing, and contagious.

Oral sex performed on male: Much higher risk of Syphillis, Chlamedya, and gonorrhea. Period. Anyone saying otherwise has no clue, or does not want to look at statistics.

vaginal and anal intercourse: the most risky.

When I see gangbangs with performers advertising no condoms and creampies are ok, I'm thinking: Stupid..

When I hear or read of people asking for bare back sex with a SP: DANGER

BBBJ: Risky at worst, stupid at best.

People, Unicorns are not real, magic thoughts don't work, and fucking is fun, make it safe for yourself and everyone.

Forgive my ignorance, but what's the difference between Oral sex performed on male and BBBJ? They seem to have seperate health risks as per your post, but I can't figure out why and for who? If you could shed some light on this it would be greatly appreciated!

No no... I think you're missing the point.

The question is.... you should consider being clearer about who is at risk in your assessments...

so bbbj - risk for women:
- risk for men:

and so on....

I recently got Chlamydia from bbbj and dfk first time in 15 years. I don't think it is risky but when you get it, it really sucks.

I have tried SP services all around the world and I find surprising all the time that BBBJ is the norm in Montreal. As everything in life, take your chances.

It’s anecdotal, but curious if any members have ever caught anything from a bbbj. I too have many years of hobbying, and never any issues. I think that if you’re regularly tested and frequent SP’s who also get tested, you should be fine.
Also, this paranoia of catching something from kissing is unfounded...of course if someone has a noticeable sore on their lips it is an issue, but otherwise this is very safe behaviour.

I am 51 years old - I have only had intercourse without a condom with one person (long term relationship). Everyone else has been with a condom. I have had bbbj with more people than I can count - some paid, some unpaid. I have never caught a thing.

I am in this hobby for over 20 yrs now, mostly bbbj and intercourse with condom, never caught anything, been tested lately, all negative!
it's like if you crossing the street, there is a chance to be hit by a car, but if you respect the signs and the red light, then the risk is minimum.
Yesterday they talk about HPV on TV, i might consider to be vaccinated, the virus can be transmitted by skin contact!
