I've seen rating systems having to be removed from boards.
And this was for threads.
For example
A good thread starts and continues with no rating. Then some turd who has a grudge against the thread starter rates the thread poorly. Then a bunch of people have to talk about this and complain, or overwhelm the poor rating by voting themselves.
The vice-versa occurs. A gang gets together. One of them starts a thread that is vile against another the member. The other gang members then rate the thread highly with lots of votes.
There are gangs in websites that are contantly bitching about others in PM or email. Constantly complaining to mods.
These inferior people are all over.
You get into a tussle with a guy like that he'll become a "we" or an "us" in his comebacks because he canoot stand alone and needs the support of his team (real or imagined).
